Hasty (Ubuntu 8.04 'Hardy Heron') compatible with ARMv6 - Can it be done on the G1?

I know we have successfully been able to install debian on our phones, has anyone tried to install hasty (basically a build of Ubuntu 8.04 'Hardy Heron')? Although ubuntu is releasing an ARM version for ARMv7 processors in April 2009, our G1's would be left out because it is ARMv6.
However, there's a version of hasty compatible with our ARM 11 Family (ARMv6) (http://www.arm.com/products/CPUs/families/ARM11Family.html) processor, found here:
http://mojo.handhelds.org/hasty-armv6el-vfp
I wouldn't even know where to begin with installing this, so if someone could enlighten us on how to do so, it would be greatly appreciated.
why?
ubuntu is just debian with some user friendly tweaks, but none of those would apply to a cellphone. so it would basically be exactly the same as debian.

We've gone as far as installing debian, why not ubuntu? Personally I would like to see if any of those tweaks would work on my G1. I understand there are similarities, and that ubuntu is based off of debian, but it wouldn't hurt to install it as opposed to debian would it?

Because we can? Why does anybody do anything in the tech community?
I would like to install ubuntu too.
Why not just use http://www.ubuntu.com/products/mobile, when it decomes workable? Or wait for vmware mobile edition.

It's not being planned for ARMv6 (which the G1 has), only ARMv7
So has anyone given hasty a try yet? =]

Porting table version of Ubuntu 11.10 to NVidia Tegra 3

Hello.
I spoke with Ekoore that sell tablet PCs with Ubuntu. They did good work to make Unity interface more comfortable for working on tablets, but their tablets based on Intel Atom. So, they can give us their version of Ubuntu for porting it to ARM.
Ekoore said:
Dear Sir,

Ubuntu and P3100

Hello. I want to ask is it possible to run ubuntu on SGTab2? I mean pure desktop ubuntu, not mobile one, nor as virtual machine. All instructions I found deals with Nexus 7. The best will be installing Ubuntu as dualboot to Android(I'm using NEXT kernel, it supports dualboot). Does anybody know how to install it? Or maybe somebody even tried it?
Thank you for answer

OS for new Android Dev

Okay so I am looking at a OS for learning Android Development.
I was thinking of using OSX but what about Linux or Windows?
What would you suggest?
Thanks!
Linux is your best bet and even Ubuntu is suggested in the source code documents. This is due to android being basically a Linux distro

What phones can you install Fedora on?

Hi,
Besides PinePhone what other mobile phones are there available where I can install Fedora instead of android rom's?
I heard someone did it with Volla Phone + Fedora. However, I can't seem to find anything on installing Fedora on mobile phones. I can find Ubuntu Touch website where they detail whats supported, that's cool and all. But how to install it on mobiles for other linux distros such as Fedora? surely you can compile some kernel and install other linux distros like Fedora right?
Please help me understand.

pmOS may interest you. I have never seen Fedora on a phone. pmOS is based on Alpine, but anything supported by it has a better chance of running Fedora than anything not supported by it. Some of these devices have mainline kernel support, which helps a lot with getting stuff running on it.
