Help with rooting GB - HTC Inspire 4G

Is there a one click root program or batch command that will root the inspire with gingerbread?
Sent from my HTC inspire at Ludacris speed

No, the need for a gold-card makes it impossible for a truly one-click solution, but the Ace Hack Kit comes closest (and currently is the only one that works with GB Inspires):

UNREVOKED - can someone get them to do it for the INSPIRE?

i used it an ARIA. all I want is to root the device.
have you tried using a gold card? its pretty simple.
I too am waiting for unrevoked. The gold card isn't all that simple if you never used adb.
according to att1, unrevoked will not work on the Inspire

The exploit that unrevoked was able to use on previous HTC models has been plugged on the more recent HTC models, including the Desire HD and the Inspire.
It might work but with out downgrading and s-off there isn't much they can do.
As of now the only Rom that can be rooted is 1.32

Quickest way to get Cyanogen on my new Inspire

Do I have this correct as the quickest way to get Cyanogen on my Inspire.
Inspire Hack kit > Clockwork recovery > Cyanogen ROM flash?
What is the S-eng off?

That is correct. You dont need Eng S-off. The hack kit will give you s-off which is what you need.
HTC Inspire 4G Simple Root and S-OFF or HTC Inspire Hack Kit are my choices. Simple??

Yeah they are both fairly simple if you read and follow directions lol . I would go with using the hack kit for the simple reason that you gain a bit if experience using commands with adb and sdx tools.

Thank you sir!

One click root available

I was wandering if any word has been said on a one click root coming for the Inspire. I know with the official 2.3 update the bootloaders are supposed to be unlocked. Will that make a one click root possible or will you still have to go through the previous steps to get root?

There will probably never be a true complete one click method due to the various steps involved. Attn1's hack kit is about as easy as you could ask for with these phones. Follow the directions and read the "effen" manual.

Just use attn1's hack kit. The one click wouldn't work for mw either.

The current version of the hack kit is 12.3 and should work for rooting your GB Inspire.

D/l the ace hack kit from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952352
follow the instructions exactly. Then using the same instructions flash one of the many rooted GB roms. I used this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1191949
there are many in the dev section, I just prefer mostly stock but rooted.
The hack kit worked really well for me so I would suggest that as well. Read the effin manual first though. And you just have to follow up until the "Options" section, unless you want to flash a new radio.

Bubby's hasn't been updated to work with the 2.3.3 OTA Gingerbread. Use ATTN1's hack kit; it has been updated.
Try hack kit v12.3... There is a link in the devs by attn1

[Q] failed to downgrade

Hey guys, I am trying to downgrade and root my friends HTC Inspire 4G, but it will not downgrade to Froyo. I have a rooted MyTouch 4G with CM7 and Virtuous Unity, so I know what I am doing. The problem happens when I boot into the HBoot screen. It recognizes the PD98IMG.zip file, but when it checks it with my phone, it says,"model id is incorrect". Any suggestions?
Gold card problem maybe? Are you using Ace Hack Kit?

No, I have not done anything with GoldCard, and I am using ADB to do this if that makes any difference. And no, I am not using Ace Hack Kit.
Just use the hack kit...its very simple to use.

Rooting devices are not all the same. Each device has a different way to get it done. Just because it works on your phone doesnt mean it will work on this one. As stated use the Ace Hack get to get it done.
