That is correct. You dont need Eng S-off. The hack kit will give you s-off which is what you need.
HTC Inspire 4G Simple Root and S-OFF or HTC Inspire Hack Kit are my choices. Simple??

Yeah they are both fairly simple if you read and follow directions lol . I would go with using the hack kit for the simple reason that you gain a bit if experience using commands with adb and sdx tools.

You can use the GUIDE on top (sticky)
Yes you can. What radio do you want. Some are ready already.

I used the bubby simple one click root for my inspire and would like to flash a recommended radio for the rom I'm using. Is it the same procedure as with the hack kit root?

so it does it all from one click eh? just click and everything is done automatically?
There's no real one click root solution for our phones but the V11 Hack Kit is by far the easiest way.

Just use attn1's hack kit. The one click wouldn't work for mw either.

The current version of the hack kit is 12.3 and should work for rooting your GB Inspire.

D/l the ace hack kit from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952352
follow the instructions exactly. Then using the same instructions flash one of the many rooted GB roms. I used this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1191949
there are many in the dev section, I just prefer mostly stock but rooted.
The hack kit worked really well for me so I would suggest that as well. Read the effin manual first though. And you just have to follow up until the "Options" section, unless you want to flash a new radio.

Bubby's hasn't been updated to work with the 2.3.3 OTA Gingerbread. Use ATTN1's hack kit; it has been updated.
Try hack kit v12.3... There is a link in the devs by attn1

I bought HTC Inspire 4G phone, but the software recognized it as Desire HD even on the market so i'm not sure if i want to add launcher where to look , Inspire 4g or Desire HD ?
please any explanation !
the inspire is basically the north american version of the desire hd... most of the custom roms available for one will work for the other.
have you flashed a custom rom, or are you on stock still?
either way its nothing to worry about, your phone will work just fine.
If you are using the stock rom and about phone information says it is desire, then you have a desire. Many custom roms are made to be used for both phones bit does not detect the inspire unless you flash inspiremod....and not all roms from one phone will work on the other. Make sure that if you flash a custom Rom it is compatible with your phone. Otherwise you might get stuck.

I'm also getting the same thing. And I wanna root. Which guide should I follow exactly? The DHD rooting guide or the Inspire?

If you have an inspire, then definitely the inspire guide. Read a lot and be prepared, if you get stuck Google it or pm someone. Have fun

Use the Hack Kit....don't use any other method....It works for both DHD and Inspire and if you follow all instructions you will be s-off and rooted in less than 5 minutes.

Hey,
I have a question, I been searching this forum on how to root the htc inspire 4g, but here is my problem. I know I need the ace kit hack, and a ROM i chose to use the cm jellytime. But, when i popped in the phone switched it to debud mode USB, opened the cmd hack it said something about enter in a passkey, then read the effen manual. I did READ the effen manual. I downloaded the htc sync application, was that my htc inspire 4g drviers? Any help would be appreciate, thank you guys.
Are you asking where to get the pass key? Or the drivers? Either way, instructions are in the manual.

You read the manual but not for comprehension...all you are asking is in there. make sure that you understand what you are about to do before messing the phone.

I think the safest route is via aahk. It's tried and true. You will definitely take more risk with any other method and most just don't work and require more time in fixing it so you can then use aahk.

No. unrevoked does not support your device. Why try to mess the phone when you can simply do it using the right tool? Just because of a 2 pages manual? then you should stay stock or your next post will be..."...I messed my phone and I am stucked..."
