[Q] Need 3G support - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
My first post but long time lurker. As the topic header mentions, I am looking for a way to build 3G into a kernel or install a pre-built one.
In order for my kids to play Storm8 games on an android tablet, they must have 3G support built into the kernel which is lacking on a stock kernel. I did my research long before I asked on here and found some people talking about Clemsyn built a kernel based on the xoom kernel which would have 3G support built in. When I search for it, I don't find it. Am I looking in the wrong area, am I looking for a ghost? Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, keep up the great work guys!

If you dont have a chance to get your hands on a TF101G with built-in 3G, you can follow this tutorial to get 3G enabled on your TF101:
How to enable 3G on your TF101
There are two requirements:
1. You need a 3G-stick which is compatible to your TF101 (just have a look in the tutorials compatbility-list)
2. You need some time and patience!
I did the same on my TF with a Huawei-3G-stick (Vodafone) and it works flawlessly @ Revolver 2.5 custom-rom. If you need any help get it working, feel free to ask .

[Q] TUN.KO needed for CM6.1 b4

Hi all,
Now that I have CM6.1 b4 running smoothly on my gTablet (was very laggy until I removed all the phone-related apk's) I would love to be able to use this sweet tablet to VPN into my work network and remote some of our machines....
For this, of course, I would need to get a tun.ko for this kernel....
Can anyone with the right amount of knowledge do the bit of work necessary to compile this file?
I have found this information and instructions, but unfortunately they do not mean much to me:

Thank you all in advance, and blessed be the one who does this first!

Bump. I'm an Android dev, haven't done much at the ROM level, but I am going to look into this. I'd also like to use OpenVPN so I am going to start looking into this. If anyone else has more info it'd be appreciated.
Btw, which APKs did you remove? I'd love to use CM but it kept getting laggy after it would wake so I switched to TNTLite

[Q] Loop-able devices enabled?

Hey guys;
I recently bought a TF700T and am planning to use it as a computer, so I want to run a Linux Distro like backtrack 5 or ubuntu. But I have spend the last gazillion hours trying to find a ROM (or kernel) that supports loopable devices, since that is what VNC needs in order to run the .img. Does anyone know of a decently stable ROM (don't care if its ICS or JB) that supports what I'm looking for?
and Now i bet one of you will bring up Dual booting, which is what i plan to do later, but havn't looked too far into that area yet for the tablet, so if you would mind linking me to a guide on how to set up dual booting on my Infinity, then I'll personally deliver you a hand-made cookie.
Cheer guys.

Im using the stock one that is rooted no problem. I had to mod the bootbt by inserting busybox at the start of the line that mounts the loop device.
The problem I am having is downloading the damn kernel headers for the BT Arm version available for download currently. I need them to compile my driver and all I get is not found

[Q] Best Custom Rom for Xoom - Wingray, wifi

Hi Guys,
First of all congrates and thanks to all the help you guys are providing (free of cost which is even more commendable).
I had my Xoom for a while but never got around to taking it apart (figuratively/software-wise) speaking
Finally i flashed it to stable build of 3.0 of EOS and now i have decided not to dispose of my XOOM ....
However the mere experience of changing the rom has raised many questions in my head which i was unable to find the answer for, which are :
1. Which custom Rom is better, EOS, CM etc. or more specifically which one is better for me. I have a laptop for gaming and dont do much gaming on XOOM, but i would like to have a tablet with as much as possible option of fast CPU (overclocking). I mainly use my XOOM for reading comics (ComicRAck), books (Aldiko), browsing (many browsers), movies and downloading (mainly through torrents), so in this context should i stay on stable EOS or go to CM or something else ?
2. Second question : a little bit of information on overclocking options in EOS, what are they "Governor" etc. and is there any effect of more speed like more battery usage etc. or vice versa if i underlock that is less battery usage?
3. I am unable to find the themes for EOS so will the themes of CM on google play will work on EOS?
Thanks guys in advance ....and bravo once again.

Unfortunately the mythical 'Best ROM' doesn't exist. What I suggest is try them all and see which fits your usage best. There aren't too many on Xoom and they are all pretty much the same give or take a few features. Nothing that will impact upon your usage example.
Governors Explained
AFAIK EOS has the CM Theme Engine built in, so you can use the same themes.
Regards.
Thanks man!
Was looking in Xoom forum only should have looked outside. By the way which ROM you are using ?
Sent from my Xoom using xda app-developers app

CM, as EOS doesn't play well with my device.

Still no ROM for TF300TG :/

Hey,
is there any work, progress, whatvever going on towards a AOSP or CM-based Rom with support for 3G of the TF300TG?
I don't get why all of the devs should only have a TF300T instead of a TF300TG as the signal is much better than using tethering over your cell phone.
Hope to get any good news although I don't expect them. :/
Best,
Blubberor
I can't wait I hate stock rom!!!

I'm really sorry for you, but I think you'll still have to wait for a while.
CleanRom Inheritance has been confirmed to work with TF300TG with mobile data working, as long as you use Unter's TF300T(G)(L)_10.4.4.20 kernel.
Take a look through these two threads, do some searches and read up on what others have successfully done.

With this kernel I have a very slow mobile internet. 3G. It works - but very slowly. For example, in Google play a very long time to load pictures and applications in general. Although the speed test is a good indicator of score! Need a little something to correct: (To get a great job 3G. But unfortunately I am far from the programming and had to wait :/
I have a fully working kernel with 3G module, based on stock kernel. If anyone were able to overclock the core of this I would be very grateful! And maybe in the future we will get the full firmware version of the tablet with sim card.
Below enclose this kernel! (A custom kernel 4pda andrew_z1)
Drivers have been completely re-written. There is a single bug. Unable to turn off the power on the modem of the settings. The author did not finish the feature

Stable rom with native 3G support

I'm using KatKiss in a 3G model, and everything is fine.. but now i need to use 3G SIM connector, and this rom doesn't seems to support it. There are other options, and for what i could understand, the best rooms to fully support 3G models are based on 4.04 (?right?)... I need help deciding the best room, i could test every one of them, but... i have to leave country in about a few days, so if someone could point one out, it would make everything simpler. Thanks in advance!
I am using Revolver 4.02.01 (IC421G - 3G version) since a long time. Its the best rom for me, because there is no need to use PPP-Widget.
everything is working fine and stable. Be carefull by flashing a Rom on the TF101G. When you are not able to read the SD-Card while flashing,
you got a big Problem!
