I have Samsung Focus on 7008 and the following installed
[XAP] Screen capture program (Based on "The DllImport Project")
I am not able to figure out what button to hold to take the screen capture. I hold the camera button and the camera app launches. No popup for the screen capture comes up.
What am I doing wrong?
Have you Mango ? If yes that normal - yet there is no application for Mango to do screenshoots.
Hey, thanks for your reply. If you notice I mention 7008 which is pre-nodo. Anyway now I have updated to 7390 which is NoDo.
So anyone know how to take screenshots?
Don't hold the camera button all the way down, just hold it slightly down. This is called "focusing the camera." This also works in the Camera app to fix blurry pictures.

I'm sorry I did not notice
BTW for a screenshot I used the same apps on NoDo (7392) and it work very good. Maybe too hard you press the shutter button (must be less than 0.5 sec.) ?

Thanks to you both. I could take the pictures. Takes a bit getting used to in the start.
Now I have run into another problem.
I open the app, remove the checkbox to turn off the "dehydrate hack" and come out. When I come back into the app the check box is always already ticked.
Is this an expected behavior.
have you folks tried phone 8 app , it cost 99p
and does screen captures
allows you to custom your windows phone but sadly only when the app is
started if you exist the app everything returns back to default settings

If you mean picture screen shoots then yes it is possible, I do it all the time. See my Screen Capture below.

Has anyone discovered a way to keep the screen on longer while on a call?
Is there any way to change this? If I missed another post on this I apologize. Thanks
You can use power manager in the Google Marketplace

One of the best 99 cent app I've ever purchased. Support the Dev, he just lost his job, and the app kicks ass.
Yeah, Power Manager has the option to a max of 2 minutes, but it has never worked for me, it always times out waaay earlier.

i use shake awake free app that causes your phone to turn back on if you move it a certain amount, you can ajust the sensitivity to howevver much you like. mine basically stays on if the phone moves at all while i am on a call
Awesome I will try these. Thanks for the responses.
Power manager doesn't change the timeout for the screen during calls. The only way to change that currently is using the shake program mentioned above. I use both programs and love both of them so when power manager doesn't help with the screen timeout during a call use it for all the other great benefits and select monitor so it can apply the different profiles (which you can customize) for all the situations.
I tired these apps they both seem to work pretty well, any ideas on how this could be done without using an app?

Hey guys - I have the Kevikev case, and as we all know the device is upside down the case. With that being said: Can you make my default screen orientation to be flipped? Before you say flip and and lock it, I do not want to do that, I still would like to take advantage of being able to go to portrait too. Wondering if there is a hack or a command I can run that will make my XOOM default be upside down?
Thanks.

I posted a comment on your review of the case in the other thread.....the case isn't upside down. You're holding it upside down. When you fold the front around to the back and insert it into that slot, the short side is the bottom and not the back. It doesn't give the greatest angle for typing, but you're supposed to stand it up on the short end.

Could you please tell me what you mean by the case is upside down? isntthe front facing camera SUPPOSE to be out the top in landscape mode? im reffering to when you have it the video call stand position.. if the xoom was inserted the other way the camera would then be pointed at your chest. thus it is not backwards. why are we not placing blame where it belongs? the auto rotation lags not the fault of the case thats a system issue that hopefully will be fixed along with all the badly needed updates we all are sooooooooo in need of
I bought this device recently and noticed that when taking pictures with applications i get distorted pictures with stripes. But when using built-in application for taking pictures, everything is normal.

Nice curtains!....where did you get them??
Afraid that this doesn't happen to me, what do you mean by "taking pictures with applications?" I only use the camera application.
Smart Measure and Little Photo are applications i used so far and found same problem in both. Something tells me other applications will be no different.
Have the same problem sometimes... like in that program that makes the people fat
Open your camera app, go into settings, and turn off wide screen picture aspect ratio. Exit camera app.
Now when you use other applications does it still do this?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
Tried that, tried turning features off, changing ISO etc. but all this did nothing.
Same problem here. Some other camera apps work though.

Have you tried booting in safe mode and seeing if there is any difference?

I believe it's CTRL + ALT + DEL
lol. Sorry couldn't resist! Not sure what you mean by safe mode. Do you mean recovery?

yep same here! When using the FatBooth App i get the curtains. But when using the standard photo app it's all ok. Also tried a lower resolution and the widescreen off, no difference...
Safe Mode did not help, will wait for HTC's response. Also there was one picture that looked normal when i was browsing gallery, but when i tapped on it to view it in full screen the "curtains effect" appeared. Weird...
Hey all,
I flashed CM 10 last night and when I went to use my camera, my screen looked like this:

As you see.. the camera preview is messed up. Displaying the image the camera sees four times... and not even fully rendered.
I wasn't able to get an actual screenshot of this off my phone as it saves it as a normal picture so I had to use a real camera. The camera functions and takes proper pictures... but the screen so messed up it makes it difficult to take a pic. Also, if I change settings the gallery crashes.
Has anyone come across this before? If so... how do I resolve this heh.
TIA!
Any thoughts? This is driving me insane lol.
My suggestion would be clearing data on the gallery(camera is part of the gallery) to see if that helps. Also try ticking the box under developer settings that references HW overlays.

Clear your data in the gallery see of that works, n fyi don't freak out if your pictures don't pop up in the gallery after you clear gallery data, your pictures aren't gone they will pop back up after some time

I pressed down the home button + volume down a few times, and that is how it happened. Perhaps devs already knew this. Here is a guide anyways.
1. Start phone
2. Once you hit Verizon screen (or any screen past bootloader screen), either hold down power + volume down, or press it a few times.
Note that doing this will reset your wallpaper and folders.

I normally boot into it by accident as well lol.
if the phone is running, simply longpress the "Power off" prompt after you get the phone options popup. I believe it disables all the third party (Downloaded/sideloaded/etc...) apps.

This is correct. It's a good way to troubleshoot the phone and see if 3rd party apps are causing an issue
