So I've been seein the EVO 3D, and I really like its new sense ui. You can change the lockscreen with weather and when you slide through the screens there is a new carasel look and more. I am just wondering two things. 1. Is there any way to get that Sense ported over to our Inspire's? 2. If we can't, do you think that the Inspire will ever get that update?

This update is in fact coming to devices with Sense. It's going to the HTC Evo-3D first though. It's kind of to showcase it. Hit Google. There are articles everywhere for it.
As long as it isn't as intrusive as the current sense...

I actually prefer it to vanilla Android. I ran cm for a day and flashed design gears Rom back over it. I have great battery life so far, so it really doesn't bother me. I feel almost "privileged" to have it since I own an HTC device.
You really can't beat the dialer, messaging app and keyboard. I know there are skins to out on other keyboards but I can't get the same performance as I can the built in HTC keyboard.
Plus I'm a huge sucker for the clock....

I love sense as well, but mainly I was refering to it hogging ram and cpu. I am sure there are ways they can optimize it better.
After seeing your screen shot in the other thread I'm flashing a gb Rom back. Killer battery life governs.

I may be weird, but I really dislike the new 3d animations and static wallpaper on sense 3.0. I really loved the virtuous rom though,...
Is there any good roms still using sense 2.1?
Or is there any way to strip the 3d animations etc out?

I'd recommend ClearDroid. Version 1.1.21 was nearly perfect. I only switched to VU for my NetFlix.

I hear good things about Inspired Ace.
I was in the same boat; I tried VU and loved the sense 3.0 weather and lockscreen, but didn't particularly like the 3d animation between screens. I installed Android Revolution (sense 2.1) instead, and just chose the sense 3.0 components that I wanted, and just installed those as mods.

I have my eye on it, for now I flashed Lee Droid with 3.0 lockscreen and weather. I'm happy.
Thanks for all the suggestions... I hope that the future of our community isn't sense 3.0... It just doesn't feel right to me. The animations are kind of cheesy and get in the way of basic functionality.

So I'm doing some research on my next phone (currently rocking a Droid Incredible 1) and it will either be the HTC Vigor or the Nexus Prime. I'm leaning towards the Nexus Prime, but I love Sense, so I just want to make sure that there are people out there who create Sense based ROMs for the Nexus devices.
So are there any stable Sense based ROMs for the Nexus S?
No sense no thanks. You buy a nexus for the AOSP experience. If you want sense buy a htc phone.

Sense based rom ran into some hurdles, plus it's harder cuz unlike the nexus 1 it doesn't share the same hardware as an HTC phone...
For the Prime, we'd have to wait for a similar phone running ics, gingerbread might not run too well on it...

Ahh this makes the decision so much more difficult. I was pretty much set on getting the Prime because I figured it'd be an easy swap to put a custom sense ROM on it.
I really want to have the latest and greatest (ICS), but I also love my sense features (lockscreen, beautiful widgets, beautiful animations, etc)
what to do, what to do....
Yeah Rem3Dy said it all, but to throw my 2 cents in.
If you want a phone running Sense you should stick to HTC phones that come pre loaded with it. Ports can be cool, but it's hard to rely on them everyday as a daily driver they all tend to have their issues. From what I was hearing before leaving the EVO 4G forums, HTC should be developing a web app for consumers to unlock boot loaders in the future, so you shouldn't have to wait for exploits to enjoy root privileges on future phones.
Now if you want a pure Google Experience device then you should look into the Nexus line of phones. This is the way Google envisions Android and in my opinion, it's the best way to enjoy it. The Nexus line always has the latest and greatest with software updates direct from Google. This means when new versions are released we don't have to wait for manufacturers to upgrade their UI to to work with the current version of Android, no wondering when or if our device will ever even get the upgrade.
So if Sense is a deal breaker for you, you should probably stick with HTC. If you're intrigues by the Nexus Prime, wait till it hits stores and go check one out, I doubt you'll be let down.

When ics comes out you are going to lose alot of sense features. Look at honeycomb for example

Sense sucks balls, big time. It was the reason I rooted and flashed aosp on my Evo. Most htc owners try to get away from sense, and you want to install it on a Nexus??
However we like SEnse or not (I don't personaly, and sure thing is if you have a Nexus "something" is for experiencing the pure Android), it has been said several times by several great devs that it won't be possible to port any Sense like launcher on the NS.....
You can always install Launcher Pro Plus which has very similar widgets to HTC Sense. ADW is another popular launcher as well.
It's not just the widgets, but the sense 3.0 lock screen is one of my favorites!

There's a lock screen app called Agile Lock, which looks exactly like the HTC lock screen with the exact same functions as well.
You can pretty much find all things HTC in the market!

I know this has probably been asked plenty of times, but I'm bored of cyanogenmod (again) and wanted people's opinions on the best as we seem to be getting a lot of official support now. Which sense rom is your favourite and reasons why please?
I've had my fun with ICS and am now waiting for a stable release so no ICS recommendations for ICS please.

Choice of ROM is a very personal thing but at the moment I am using Endymion v3 and am extremely happy with it. It just seems to work, and I use it heavily for work - Bluetooth, Wireless, Calls, SMS, Camera, GPS etc

I've seen Endymion as the best choice and I would've switched back to it but the list has grown since I flashed Endymion which is why I wanted to know which people prefer now.

I'm Endymion V3 and just wouldn't consider anything else to be honest .The help and support lowveld gives is amazing
i also use endymion v3 if i had the delight to use sense
I use Endymion 2.2 with the fixes from 3.0. I only like the stock look, so don't feel the need to theme and lose 200+mb.
It's all personal preference!

+1 to endymion v3 here too!! great sense 3.5 rom, excellent battery life and awesome tweaks!
The only gripe I have is the the sense 3.5 dockbar, I find it ugly and somewhat blown up, especially with the text (applications, personalization)
kept changing between the two-button bliss bar and stock 3.5 bar and couldn't settle on either
hope someone would make a sense 3.0 /2.1 dockbar mod for it!!
Is there a way to sense 3.5 rom has a normal font for the screen of our Desire S? Small fonts is something that annoys me a lot, and see how Rhyme rom only has something like that, but it seems that unfortunately proxuser left development of the Rom :/

Yeh.. I sort of got used to it now though
However when I went to use a Desire S in the store again, 2.1 sense, the icons and fonts were massive!! I was like wow!!
Also I used the Sensation XL, and sense 3.5 looks lovely on it, the icons are all giant and easy to see!

There are no ICS roms with Sense that have a Rosie.apk with landscape, not for Sensation anywho. The ONLY phones I've had with Sense and landscape Rosie have been my G2 and my MyTouch 4G Slide, however, that is because they have keyboards. I know Sense 4.0 for Endeavor has landscape Rosie for the homescreen and a landscape Lockscreen, if you can wait for the Ville leaked RUU that just got out to hit the public and get ported over to the Sensation then I am sure you will get what you are asking for, not till then though.
