Sense 2.1 roms? - HTC Inspire 4G

I may be weird, but I really dislike the new 3d animations and static wallpaper on sense 3.0. I really loved the virtuous rom though,...
Is there any good roms still using sense 2.1?
Or is there any way to strip the 3d animations etc out?

I'd recommend ClearDroid. Version 1.1.21 was nearly perfect. I only switched to VU for my NetFlix.

I hear good things about Inspired Ace.

I was in the same boat; I tried VU and loved the sense 3.0 weather and lockscreen, but didn't particularly like the 3d animation between screens. I installed Android Revolution (sense 2.1) instead, and just chose the sense 3.0 components that I wanted, and just installed those as mods.

I have my eye on it, for now I flashed Lee Droid with 3.0 lockscreen and weather. I'm happy.
Thanks for all the suggestions... I hope that the future of our community isn't sense 3.0... It just doesn't feel right to me. The animations are kind of cheesy and get in the way of basic functionality.

New version of Sense from Evo 3D Port?

What are the chances of porting the new version of Sense in the Evo 3D to the Inspire 4G?
Its sense 2.0, which is the version we have on our Inspires already

No its not. It's a new sense 2.2 (2.1 is gingerbread with the settings in the notification bar and 2.0 is the one on the Desire Z/HD/Inspire) with the new spinning carousel and some new cool lockscreen.

Exactly
im not so sure, i think this will be exclusive to 3d phones , doesnt mean it wont be ported but i doubt we will see this on our inspire 4g stright from htc, im not too fond of the carrousel i think its just flashy and it adds nothing, now what i really is that new lockscreen
Btw will the gingerbread version we'll get have the settings tab in the notification bar? does the leaked desire hd rom has it?

I think it looks nice. I have absolutely no interest in updates from HTC, I'm talking about what the devs here can throw together. I've tried the Gingerbread Sense and don't mind the settings tab in the notification area, just can't see that much of an improvement over the 2.2 Sense. A bit more eye candy might swing me though .

(Q) CM7 RC3 or CM7 nightlies

Well I see all these roms out for the leaked 2.3.3 and then I see CM7. I've never used CM7, so I'm.not aware of the differences. Could someone shed some light for me and possibly direct me towards me
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Well...
The leaked 2.3 Roms have sense 2.1.
CM7 is built from source to be like vanilla android, but there are more options.
I've tried a few of the GB/Sense rom's and I've been on CM7 since nightly 17, now on RC3.
Its more of a matter of appearance, I've tried a lot of them and I prefer CM7 builds, but I use Sense sometimes, as well as MIUI, which also has a 2.3 build.
Its a brilliant community and the developers for the desire HD/inspire have turned out some amazing quality rom's.

Well question is what's the difference between sense 2.0 and 2.1? I just want opinions and what everyone seems to prefer. I'm looking for a nice look with good download / upload speeds.

The differences between sense 2.0 and 2.1 aren't that big, but there is a settings tab in the notification pull down and a tweaked app drawer that has favorite and downloaded app tabs.
That's really it aesthetically, but under the hood its made to work with android 2.3.
They are all test builds though, you could try an optimized stock rom with sense 2.0 and froyo?
There are a lot of options now and more to come.

[Q] Best rom for battery

What is the best rom you have used to help the battery life out?
HoneySense
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App
Get any rom that does NOT have sense or sense components, and u should be good. Examples: Gingerbeast, Android revolution + no sense patch

Yes. Beautiful Widgets (paid app) has one similar. MIUI's weather/clock widget looks similar if you like the iOS look.
I've achieved the best battery life from MIUI (OC'd to 1.2ghz) with cattleprod's cyan04.7 Kernel running JuiceDefender. It's what I ended up sticking with after trying quite a few.
Personally, I love the look and feel of iOS so the added functionality of Android and much better battery life than stock is everything I could ask for.

Even with the no sense patch- sense framework is all still there, plus some sense apks that can't be removed.
Just pointing that out
TPGB Battery works great!

I've tried just about every rom out there, and my experience is that there is not dramatic difference among them. The display is always the biggest consumer. Not matter what rom you're using, the display will consume what it's going to consume...

Espresso rom/theme?

I like the espresso sense found on the new mytouches, but I love everything else about the sensation. are there any themes, etc that I could use ? Like a doubleshot port?

I have a friend that got the MT4G, and all I noticed was colors and graphics were different. I assumed that because they were both using Sense 3.0 and Gingerbread that they were pretty much the same. Is there something specific you like more about it?

The mytouch 4g does not run sense 3.0, it is 2.1. The mytouch 4g slide, on the other hand, does, but the espresso version it runs has no lock screen short cuts and the Rosie dock has three customizable slots for apps of your choice much like the HTC Flyer's sense does. They are essentially custom ui's on top of sense which is a custom Android ui.

Sense roms

I know this has probably been asked plenty of times, but I'm bored of cyanogenmod (again) and wanted people's opinions on the best as we seem to be getting a lot of official support now. Which sense rom is your favourite and reasons why please?
I've had my fun with ICS and am now waiting for a stable release so no ICS recommendations for ICS please.

Choice of ROM is a very personal thing but at the moment I am using Endymion v3 and am extremely happy with it. It just seems to work, and I use it heavily for work - Bluetooth, Wireless, Calls, SMS, Camera, GPS etc

I'm Endymion V3 and just wouldn't consider anything else to be honest .The help and support lowveld gives is amazing
i also use endymion v3 if i had the delight to use sense
I use Endymion 2.2 with the fixes from 3.0. I only like the stock look, so don't feel the need to theme and lose 200+mb.
It's all personal preference!

+1 to endymion v3 here too!! great sense 3.5 rom, excellent battery life and awesome tweaks!
The only gripe I have is the the sense 3.5 dockbar, I find it ugly and somewhat blown up, especially with the text (applications, personalization)
kept changing between the two-button bliss bar and stock 3.5 bar and couldn't settle on either
hope someone would make a sense 3.0 /2.1 dockbar mod for it!!
Is there a way to sense 3.5 rom has a normal font for the screen of our Desire S? Small fonts is something that annoys me a lot, and see how Rhyme rom only has something like that, but it seems that unfortunately proxuser left development of the Rom :/

Yeh.. I sort of got used to it now though
However when I went to use a Desire S in the store again, 2.1 sense, the icons and fonts were massive!! I was like wow!!
Also I used the Sensation XL, and sense 3.5 looks lovely on it, the icons are all giant and easy to see!
