at first look, this $35 otterbox looks very similar to the cheapo $5 ones that's selling everywhere. i'm sure the quality is much better but is it $35 better as the protection is still 2 piece? im curious to see feedback from those who ordered

Just got mine in. Looks great will post some pics tomorrow.
This is only the second otterbox I have had. The first was a defender for the 3gs. This commuter case is well built and feels and looks great. The only problem I ran into was the first silicone layer was getting pinched at the corner when I was trying to put the outter cover snapped in place. After a few attempts finally got it on and so far so good. Def worth the wait and money.

Is the back made mostly of silicone or hard plastic? Please tell me it doesn't stick to the inside of your pocket!

The back is mostly hard plastic. The only silicone will be at the headphone jack, power button, charging port, and the largest part is volume rocker. The plastic has a great design/look to it. You wont be disappointed. Should be getting some pics up a little later.

Got one at t mobile store on sunday and tried it on their demo phone and it looks sexy as ****.

I grabbed the Body Glove (free) and it does make the phone bulkier, but, it was pretty much free. Good so far, but I've never used a case on a phone and have no proclivity towards dropping my mobile devices.

Five finger discount?

I was not a case user either, until I found the ID case from Casemate for my Nexus one. I love that I just throw my license and debit card in there, and now I never have to carry a wallet anymore. I REALLY hope that they make one for the G2x, because I don't want to have to carry a wallet again, lol.

Ended up just getting a case at time of purchase instore. Pretty rubbery but it does the trick

Ok, so it just "officially" came out yesterday, I'll give it that; but the Atrix had otterbox (excluding defender series) in full swing the first day, as well as nearly every accessory site being stocked full with just about everything there is for that phone. It seems like there is nothing to choose from for the G2x, and the phone isn't even new considering it's been out for months before the U.S. was blessed with it. I dunno, maybe it's just my imagination.

I have the Seidio belt clip for my Nexus One and really like it. They haven't yet made one for the G2x, but if they do that's what I'll be going for. Nice to hear praise for the otter box, I threw one in to my battery order. Actually not big on covering the phone up, but my bezel is all scratched and dented from my 3-4 drops plus a 'ride' through the internals of a recliner (if I had a certain other phone, it would be shattered not just blemished).

[Q] Otterbox Defender style case.

Has anyone found an otterbox defender style case for the touchpad? I read that otterbox said they currently don't have any plans to make a case for the touchpad.

I am also looking for a case like this. I have the official HP case I bought from Best Buy but I feel as though if I WERE to drop it, the case would do very little.

Of course you would need to dremel some holes to make the speakers and buttons work i would think... Also taking out to charge it on a touchstone would be a pain... But maybe still worth it! So whos going to buy it and try it?

I have the official HP case. I just think Otterbox does a better job in their ability to protect devices.

iPad case will not work
iPad gen 1 case does not fit. I have one for my sons iPad and tested it just to see.

NP, that's why we're here

sorry guys I forgot to update this. I did get the otterbox and no it does not fit. The tp is to fat. I used a heat gun and after a lot of work got it to work, but I can tell its not worth it. It did not come out perfect and I would need one or two more to really get the process down right. If you where going to do it just to do it and you felt like spending the money on a few of them you could do it. I would post pics but I already got rid of it.

roocase fits like a glove. Zippercase keeps tp safe in a bag and pull out jacket is nice when just needing a drop protection.

There seems to be quite a lot of different roocases, which one did you get?

Galaxy Tab 8.9 Trident Case

For those that like the protection of something like an otterbox or seidio. I highly recommend this case as I had one on my Nook Color and it took a beating like a champ. I'm likely picking up a used 8.9 LTE shortly and this will be the first thing I add to it.

Dude, I'm all about getting thing without spending a lot of money if I can. Found the trident I posted for $33 at mobile-stop so not as much as above. For my piece of mind I just have to have a case that can be dropped without worry. I have a tpu on my galaxy tab 2 7.0 right now cause that's just the best I could find. It was awesome that it was only a couple bucks but I don't feel like it's gonna protect it *when* an accident happens (cause they always do).

Yeah, the one I got has next to no shcok rating, I really got it to keep it from getting all scratched up and stuff. The Trident one looks alot more hardcore form a protection standpoint

Can anyone confirm that the trident case can also be used as a stand..... It seems like that is all the trident case is missing.

Nope, no stand. Just received my case today and really like it. The initial install is frustrating, aligning the ports and all, but overall feels really good in the hands. Don't bother with the included screen protector, to the touch, smooth. If you use a stylus, it grabs.
