I wish it was a defender series though... much better protection than the commuter series. Hopefully they will release a defender for it soon.

I don't know if they can make one for this phone. Aren't the only phones that get those "one piece" phones?

Does anyone have one of these yet? Too soon to ask that question?

at first look, this $35 otterbox looks very similar to the cheapo $5 ones that's selling everywhere. i'm sure the quality is much better but is it $35 better as the protection is still 2 piece? im curious to see feedback from those who ordered

Its quality over plastic.
[G2/HTC Vision]

Damn, it didn't upload in HD.
I had a very bad hang over while recording.

How is the grip on the commuter series? I'm always afraid that it will slip out of my hands.

Just got mine in. Looks great will post some pics tomorrow.
This is only the second otterbox I have had. The first was a defender for the 3gs. This commuter case is well built and feels and looks great. The only problem I ran into was the first silicone layer was getting pinched at the corner when I was trying to put the outter cover snapped in place. After a few attempts finally got it on and so far so good. Def worth the wait and money.

Is the back made mostly of silicone or hard plastic? Please tell me it doesn't stick to the inside of your pocket!

The back is mostly hard plastic. The only silicone will be at the headphone jack, power button, charging port, and the largest part is volume rocker. The plastic has a great design/look to it. You wont be disappointed. Should be getting some pics up a little later.

Seidio cases

just letting you guys know seidio is now shipping their innocase (black only though)

That's awesome, thanks for letting us know, been waiting to see that. Now after seeing it, I'm sure of what I assumed, that the OEM/Verizon kickstand case is a much better case. It has a kickstand you can use in portrait and landscape, it provides good grip on the back of the phone, it fits very tightly and is durable plastic, and it barely goes over the front of the phone at all leaving the phone quite thin.
Innocases are what I used on my last 3 phones, and the soft touch/rubberized feel is nice (the kickstand case is rubberized but not as much), but, they are relatively brittle, they bulk up the phone a good deal by covering all sides and the front, and they don't have kickstands. I can't imagine not having a kickstand now after having one. But perhaps most important, is the cost? The kickstand cases are brand new on ebay for $12 shipped. innocases are going to run you $30 + shipping.
edit: Seidio's holsters are awesome though, best I've ever used. but I know a lot of people don't use a holster, and you can't with the kickstand case on anyways. I suggested a pouch to go with the kickstand case in my thread about it in this forum.
nice! thanks for the update! i've been waiting for a solid case that didn't cover up much of the front bezel. now only if sgp's website was working and i could get the ultra crystal screen protector...
does anyone have this? how is it? bulky or no?
I bought this case. It's really nice. However it makes my phone look exactly like an Iphone. You've probably seen this case on plenty of Iphones - it is essentially identical. The case its relatively thin, but certainly adds to the phone's size. It's probably about as thin as you're going to get for a case though (aside from using an invisible sheild type skin ). Quality is great. I love the case, the added size is fine because the case is still pretty sleek looking - And well worth the $30 investment to protect such an expensive phone. Lets not forget, samsung is notorious for bad build quality.

cool, i ordered it and will give a review here after i try it out for a bit. i hope it fels good in the hand
They are about the best cases out. Not too much bulk and the rubberized finish is a nice touch. Best Buy had them in black and white. They are labeled as the Seidio platinum series on retail shelves.

ok so i just got this case.. its pretty sweet! only one thing i dont like and i can't beleive no one else mentioned this, the power and volume rockers are kinda blocked off in a way that makes it a lil tough for your thumb to get too
I just got this case today in black..weird that Best Buy lists the white case at 29.99 but the black case at 34.99..weird, not exactly sure why the black costs more. Anyways, I will have some pretty detailed pictures tonight!
No pics, my camera is bummy..but I love the case. Fits perfectly and I don't mind it making the buttons more difficult to press. I have sausage fingers anyway so it feels better to me

Just to update everyone, I had a Platinum case (Innocase) from Best Buy. I returned it because the bottom part had become unreasonably loose. Waiting for Bestbuy.com to get the Otterbox back in stock. I'm currently using the "carbon fiber" looking case from Verizon.

Recommend me a good case!

I have been looking for a good case for my G2, but no luck. I found one that I really liked, but its sold out everywhere!
Can someone recommend me a good case please?

IMO its really good, looks nice, feels solid.
Add a little bulk but only really to be expected. The back is a little slippery but i like it. It doesn't have the grip that the hard rubber ones do, but i think its a little more hard wearing.
Theres a youtube video review of it linked on here somewhere.

Otterbox is a nice case, but there's 2 warnings for it.
first of all, if you put it on, do not plan to take it off. doing so repeatedly can and will break a teeth or two on the case.
2ndly. be extremely careful when you open the case, it can scratch the actual phone. I got 1 scratch on a corner already
so i would suggest that if you get the otterbox, do not make any plans to take it out except for a rare occasion.
I am currently using the case, i love it, but i learned not to take it out.

currently I have no idea. I'm still using the otterbox because i don't have time to buy a new one, but I do not have any plans on get a new one until the end of this month. i have too much to do and moving to a new apartment, so the adress is unstable atm.
I'll try and update later though.
I've been using the black gel case from T-Mobile ever since I got the phone, and it's been great. Hasn't gotten dirty/cracked and is easy to take on and off. Hasn't damaged the phone, and it's protected it pretty well. Yesterday my G2 fell from my sweatshirt pocket onto the concrete in my backyard, and there's only a small mark where it hit under the case. I've never tried the Otterbox that may be better.

I've been using the T-Mobile G2 Body Glove Matrix since Oct and am VERY happy with it. When it was new one of the tabs was catching on something but it was fine after a week. I never take the case off -- use an external battery pack instead of a spare battery.
It's $20 on Ebay (US) and I'm not the seller. I think you can get it for less if you shop around.
Take a look at my review of this case...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993569
I am using a cheapy case from Tmo. Its not bad. I am thinking about getting the otterbox case.
id recommend the krussel pouch
krussel are renouned for their excellent quality leather pouches and it fits very nicely with the desire z and g2.
ive had it since i brought it about a month ago and no scratches yet!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-KRUSE...088178&cguid=b9aeb00812e0a479ed911df1fdf25e3c
Otterbox Commuter case it's the way to go. Tried others, but love this one. It's $30 on Ebay.
DO NOT get the cheaper black gel skin case from Tmo because its teeth scratch the crap out of your phone when removing it. Same with that otter box I guess, but OB is a hardcase that feels better and doesn't stink. The case I got smells like booty!
The gel skin case has poorly placed/too thick of teeth so the phone never shuts completely and is slightly wedged open.
I def want to find another case that's more streamlined because I am so scared of dropping my G2.

Case-mate barely there case

Just got mine today, came with a screen protector.
fits great, has soft feel and is not slippery in the hand at all.

just got in the mail couple of minutes ok. Great purchase, very light and tight on the phone , like OP said comes with a screen protector (which am not using) and a cloth to wipe your screen down , which leave it like new too
It acually comes off without a struggle too, which it seems a lot of these style cases lack. Cheers

Just ordered as well. I've been using OtterBox for my T-Mobile G2, but the tab attaching the front piece to the phone on OtterBox case is broken. We'll see how well case-mate case holds up.
Still a little pricey for me, the rubber ones one ebay have the same rubbery feel and also look and protect the same for less then $5. Just my opinion though
how rubbery is it? The original case I bought from Tmobile would get stuck in my pocket when I would try and pull it out. Now I am rocking a clear case but one of the tabs recently broke so I am looking for another
Its not rubbery to the point that its hard to take out of pocket, just feels nice in the hand, and not as slippery as a gloss finish.
Spending $20 bucks to adequately protect a device that costs $500 out of contract is well worth it imo.
Like I said, I reccomend it to the people not interested in wading through the waves of ebay garbage for $1.99

like the name says this case is really light, but protects your phone well
I've got my DZ with the Barely There case for about a month now, and I'm very happy with it. You don't even notice the screen protector, and the case itself doesn't make your phone look like a new refridgerator, but it does make your phone feel like it's sturdy enough to survive an accidental drop on the ground.
I recommend the CM BT case to every DZ user
Can this be store bought? I've been looking for a Screen protector that includes a case!
I was actually not aware of this brand (Case-Mate) before, and was therefor very surprised to see that the case i bought for 5$ in a little Chinese shop in manhattan looks 99% the same (only difference i could see is the hole on top right corner of the back, as i've seen in several other cases, but not mine.)
i think for 1/4 of the price, its well worth it
Thanks for the pics bro

Is it just me or did we as consumers just completely breeze right past the day when cases went from 10 bucks to 35-50.
They are still the same damn case!
I know why. Phones are made thinner, lighter and more delicate......so they could sell us what they know we need.......something to make it BIGGER, THICKER and HARDER.
We are screwing ourselves........and paying someone to do it.

LMFAO, Slappy! You are too funny!
I, for one, am willing to pay a bit more for a good quality case. 18 months ago, I bought a very cheap silicone flappy-case for my very-soon-to-be-replaced Samsung Eternity (UPS is dropping my Infuse TODAY - woo hoo!). I remember taking off the silicone case after about one month of use to give the device a good ol' wipedown. I was super bummed to see that the sides of the phone were all scratched up FROM BEING IN THE CASE! This POS case had actually trapped dirt/dust between itself and the phone and proceeded to chafe itself silly!
So anyway, I'm going to get a solid, snug, and well made case for my new Infuse.
Having said that, any suggestions on brand and/or model? I am thinking Otterbox Commuter, but am open to anything...
I'm liking the casemate pop case.

I went with a rubberized hard case, no name with screen protector included for $7 shipped on eBay. It looks quite similar to the CaseMate.

Www dot otterbox dot com /en-us/moto-x-pure-edition/defender-series-case/mot2-moto-x-pure-edition.htm
Now has the box in stock. I ordered one today.
I cant even count how many times Otterbox has saved my phone. I wear the belt clip and work outside year round in Florida. Heat, rain, humidity etc. Lifeproof fell apart in 6 months otterbox going strong 2 years later.
I literally drop my phone 3 times a week from the side of a forklift a box truck a loading dock and pick it up dust it off and keep on rolling. They may be ugly but they work damn well.
The real question is where in the heck is the Commuter case!? They just lost my business to this http://www.incipio.com/cases/smartphone-cases/motorola-smartphone-cases/motorola-moto-x-pure-edition-cases/dualpro-case-motorola-moto-x-pure-edition.html

I don't think this phone is huge by any means but I did just come from a nexus 6 lol. .
I like the supcases, they are cheap and offer good protection, the heavy duty version is way slimmer then a otter box.
I got this on Amazon for $8 to hold me over until a better case comes out. It does the job and protects it pretty good. I wish it was a little snugger fit, but it'll do for now.
