Hello,
I have three questions about my sensation.
1) If the battery is empty, the LED flash no longer works, can be turned off somehow, so that it always works?
2) My wireless switch off when my Phone is in standby. When I go out from standby, it connects again. Is there a possibility that wireless is always turned on?
3) Can I fit into the standard battery display a percentage figure, so I always know what percentage the battery has?
HTC Sensation
s-off
root
Custom ROM (Revolution HD 3.0.0)
Thanks!

Go to Settings -> Network Settings -> WiFi Settings -> Press Menu-Button and chose advanced Settings
The first option lets you chose wether WiFi should be always on, switches off after 15 minutes or is always on when the device is charged.
(I hope I named the options correctly, my device language is german )
Thank you!
My menu language is also German, but I could find it.
I was often in the settings, I've never had the idea to press the menu button once ^^
Any ideas for my other two questions?

Hi all!!
My question is simple, what is the best configuration for less draining battery? Best theme and apps that make battery last longer?
For example i heard that Battery Status is the less draining one. I am going to hard reset my phone and want to put everything very nice cause i'm not happy with my battery life and that's a huge issue for me and i guess for some people too.
you can set your device to the lowest backlight. set it to 2G rather than 3G and disable bluetooth and wireless while you don't need them.
about a shell... the best option is to not have a shell at all. but if you want an ok shell, battery status and rlToday are fine. Ultimate Launch as well
Also, don't use programs that keep your device on a constant "Standby" such as S2U2. This particular program has a bad tendency of draining your battery.
My battery is draining very quickly, what can I do?
Here are a few ideas on how to save battery life: 1. Check Task Manager regularly and close down all applications which you aren't using. 2. Use the ?CamRecSvc function to switch off your LEDs if you have a compatible phone 3. Clean the terminals on your battery and on the section of the phone that the battery connects with, to ensure a clean conenction 4. Lower your screen brightness settings. 5. Change your backlight power-off and device power-off timing. Make it short enough that it doesn't stay on too long after you stop using it, but long enough that the device and light don't have to constantly be switched on. 6. Turn off bluetooth when not in use 7. Disable "Receive Incoming Beams" when not in use
That's a start.
PS I don't know if CamRecServ is used on phones other than the Himalaya

Hi
How to know if my device is compatible with this? camrecsvc?
I am interested in turning off the leds only.
Thanks in advance,
In the wifi sleep policy, it is possible to set wifi to sleep after screen off. However wifi does not sleep immediately but 15 minutes after screen off. I would like wifi to sleep earlier, say 5 minutes after screen off.
I searched around and found an app capable of doing this. But it is for samsung phones and doesn't work for defy. Does anyone know if and how it can be set manually?
Juicedefender. That is the exact app to use.
I tried Juice Defender. There are options to disable wifi based on connection existence, preset time, data flow etc, but there is no option to set the how long after screen off wifi would sleep.
Here you go, this should do what you want: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=774507
Good luck
Hmm I actually set my wifi to never turn off automatically. For instance yesterday I made a phonecall with Skype. My mobile connection is too slow for that so I switched the wifi on. During the phonecall I had the screen turned off but of course the wifi needed to stay on.
I have a widgetsoid widget on my homescreen to enable/disable the wifi. Don't like it when things go automatic and it's just as easy when you need wifi only once in a while.

Thanks! Unfortunately moto doesn't have the settings.db file. I tried putting the mentioned key "wifi_idle_ms" in several other files but no effect.
Edit:
Stupid me. I find the location of settings.db and it works perfectly now
For information, the location of defy's settings.db is:
/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db

Thanks guys; I can now listen to TuneIn radio as long as I want (or my battery allows me to).
If you intend to save battery, maybe you should consider leave "wireless policy" to "never sleep".
It might sound senseless but there are a lot of people reporting substantial battery savings with this, including me, i noticed at least +20 hours in battery life only with this little thing. Charts drawn with Battery Monitor showed the same consumption, Wireless OFF. vs Wireless policy to never sleep. And the most expensive was policy of sleep when screen turned off.

That's probably the case for 3g. But I'm using 2g and find 2g uses less battery than wifi in standby mode (with some background data sync).

Thanks, naenee, for the link. In case anyone is interested, I just made a simplified adaptation of RyanZA's guide, specifically for the DEFY: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22639770
Hello Everyone !
Friend of mine live in the middle of no where where 3g/4g signal doesnt work.
He has Wi-Fi tho, but thing is. His cellphone always try to look for a 3 /4g signal at his home and he wakes up with his battery completly drained prematurely.
Im looking for an app that will auto turn off 3g/4g when connected on a certain Wi-Fi and turn it back on when leaving that Wi-FI
We are both using Galaxy S2 X
Thanks guys !
You can do this with Tasker. You can make a profile. I actually just made one for myself after reading your post.
Profile name (name it anything): DataToWifi
State -> Net -> Wifi Connected
Task: Net -> Mobile Data (On)
Closing Task: Net -> Mobile Dat (Off)
So now, when I turn Wifi On (and it connects to the router), it turns off data. When I turn wifi off, it turns data back on.
Cool ! Thanks a lot Scottocs !
But is it also possible that this task ONLY work on ONE certain WiFi (his home wifi)
Because all others WiFi area works correctly with 3g

Yes, you can specify.
I have tasker configured to turn off the lock screen pass code only when connected to my home WiFi. (It also says 'welcome home sir' in an British accent.. lol)

It is sort of confusing, but it's easier to make the tasks before the profile.
I'll give you step-by-step instructions.
Open Tasker
Go to Tasks tab
Click the + button to make a new one - name the first task "DataOff"
Click the + button again
Click the "Net" button
Click "Mobile Data"
Click near the top left of the app (the tasker icon which has a left arrow)
Click it again.
Click the + button to make a new one - name the first task "DataOn"
Click the + button again
Click the "Net" button
Click "Mobile Data"
Change it from "Off" to "On"
Click near the top left of the app (the tasker icon which has a left arrow)
Click it again.
Switch to Profile tab
Click the + button
Name it "WifiToData" (or something else)
Click "State"
Click "Net"
Click "Wifi Connected"
Optional: Type in your SSID
Click near the top left of the app (the tasker icon which has a left arrow)
Choose the "DataOff" Task
Touch and hold your finger on "DataOff" Task in the Profiles tab
Click "Add Exit Task"
Choose the "DataOn" task
Complete!
Llama may be less confusing...
So thanks a lot everyone especially Scottocs for the HUGE help on this.
After scratching my head for about 2-3 hours on this and with Scottocs help I was able to figure out a way for my friend to
Once he enter his house and his phone connect to his Wifi -> Airplane mode ON but leave Wifi ON
and once he disconnect from his Wifi Turn Airplane mode OFF
that was done with
Tasker application and AutoAir
what I did in Tasker was
When Wifi connected -> SSID (wireless connection name)
Load App -> Autoair
(Make sure to go in AutoAir setting and check the box " Start Service on application start up)
and as a Exit Task for this profile
I Simply took Turn Airplane OFF (which mean that once that specific wifi get disconnected turn airplane off)
Hopefully that can help you guys !

GLad you got it working...I think you could have also done it with the secure settings tasker plugin....i believe it has functions to enable/disable airplane mode and then turn wifi back on/off.....
I'm still trying to figure out how to disable pinlock when power any and bluetooth is linked.....I link bluetooth both home and in the car but have not found best option yet. Tasker is very powerful although complex....you should have seen it before the new version that made things "simpler".
Hey guys,
I just need to know all the options available in HAM7 in order to switch-off the WI-FI whenever I pressed the lock-button or screen is off or phone in sleep mode?
However, Can anyone tells me how long does the phone needs to enter the "sleep mode" if it's screen timeout is set to 15seconds + all apps are protected "restricted" from (Running in background + Push-notification)?
Thanks

Hey Alex,
Thanks for your help, but i think there is already an option in the Huawei Ascend mate 7 phones for doing such thing but i can't really find it, the reason that i don't need to download any (Battery Saving Programs, that the phone is packed with the same utility too! called "Phone Manager") ,, it was working with me, but seems to be i done something (disable something or protect something "Restricting it") from doing it's normal function that i still don't figure it out what is it!
Thanks for your reply, I've tried this app and i wasn't knew what does "Smart WIFI" means until Now, so i would make it my last choice to download this app again, in case if i didn't find a way to manage it within the phone settings.

Unfortunately, I've the same options on "Never (increase data usage)"
But still the wifi is on, that means either the phone doesn't enter into sleep mode after 2-10mins or more or either it's not the option we're looking for!

Yeah, same here, I tested on 'Never' and I have the same result, so don't worry it's not from your phone, probably it's from the firmware I guess.
You can test the Smart Wi fi option from the Smart Battery Saver app to see if it works.

As you can see in the following picture it's my settings, without using the app "Smart Battery Saver" suggested by member in previous comments the device couldn't been able to Switch WIFI automatically, unless I use the app provided.
However, the phone was working properly but I don't know what happened to that option later on.
All my apps is restricted from running on background and app notification is restricted too, Sync is switched off. I wonder what eels remained.. lol
I found option to control Wi-Fi in the Viber application settings (you can see this option on the attached screenshot). May be you using something app like this?
And IMHO restrictions working only for automatic memory clearing if it's not enough for active application, but I could be wrong.

I think this was the setting you were looking for. With this setting my wifi disables every time during sleep and reconnects automatic when i turn the screen on.

It seems to be doesn't work, I've tried it just in few minutes, and changed my display screen time-out for 15-seconds to go to sleep quickly, still it doesn't work after several minutes, so my question is for (How long does the phone consume from time to "enter sleep mode/device WI-FI switched Off") with your phone?

I think it must be in sleep mode at least 5 to 10 minutes. If you just turn off the screen and turn back on, the wifi will not disabled. Test it. Let the phone off for 5-10 minutes to have time to enter sleep mode. If you want to disable the wifi immediately every time you turn off the screen, the only solution is that app.
Whenever I go out of range of my home wifi network and return back wifi does not connect until I turn the screen on or unlock my device. I have checked advance wifi settings and wifi is set to on even screen off. This is causing me huge data loss. I am on completely stock firmware with latest updates and android 7.0. My device model is G930FD. Also, its suffering from poor ram management. Whenever I leave an app and come back, its mostly reloaded. Especially in the facebook app. I loose all my progress in the timeline if I watch a video. This should not be the case as my phone has always about 1.5 gb ram available in device manager. I'll appreciate your advices.
