Hi everyone! I am posting this here because I need 10 post to post in the right tread...
So my problem is this: I installed the aurora 4.0.3 custom rom that seems to work great but I cant connect to the internet... (wlan works great)
I had before this oxygen custom ROM wich worked good but decided to try android 4. when I installed the newest official update...(i think it was 2.3.5 or something like that, looked newer that 2.3 almost like 4.0)... the internet did not work at that point eather (after the install) The apn settings wont SAVE!!
They just dissapear after I press save when everything is correctly written! well I tought that installing the custom rom would fix it... well it didnt...
I installed everything correctly, recoveries, deleted stuff from recovery etc.
One thing I tought that will changing a new SIM card fix this?
IDK what to do now, please help me!!
Oh my operator is Saunalahti from Finland (im there too...)
EDIT: I tried with my brothers sim card wich has a different operator, dna and the internet worked fine. there was also all the apn settings, dna internet and mms. switched back to mine and still not working. could the SIM card get any damage while installing new firmwares and custom roms? I had mine in the phone under the installs if it matters.
Anyone? and if you thinky I write bad and messy, I am not so great at english but I hope you understand : )
Noone knows on this site how to get my apn settings to work???
btw they worked today for like 5 mins then I rebooted and they where gone again...

I am an unhappy user of a Samsung S3 since yesterday. I have received the phone, unpacked it , charged it. It powered up ,worked fine. This is not my first Android device so i decided to root it after half an hour of use +/-.
Win7(64bit)/ Odin 1.85/ CF Root SGS6 v6.3. Rooted fine. Time for a new ROM ? think so too CWM recovery/BACK-UP installed CriskeloROM SIII ICS v2. Works fine, can receive calls make them, text message , browse net through 3G.
But the problem starts with wifi - it connects to my router,obtains an IP adress but there is no internet. LAN is connected because i can see other users on the network and access a GoFlex drive which is shared on the home network.
I was stupid enough to root the device before checking if the wifi worked, so i have no clue if it worked before i rooted and installed the custom ROM.
Anyone have any thoughts, on things i could carry out in order to get the wifi working?
p.s from the router side of things everything looks fine.

I really searched everywhere for like two weeks, and didn't find an answer.
I tried both, CM9 and CM10 on my Galaxy tab 2 7"(P3100), with not inserting the 3G SIM card and wifi works smoothly.
but as soon as I insert the SIM, I can't find wifi networks anymore.
I reverted back to the Stock ROM, but since I really love CyanogenMod, which I had on my last five devices, I would really appreciate any help.
by the way I tried these builds:

I've never have this problems on my P3100 with Cm10
If you want to try, install CM10 with the simcard inserted
I tried both installing the ROM before and after inserting the SIM card, when I install it before, wifi remains working until I insert it, and if I install it with after inserting the SIM, it boots the first time without wifi.
So, I'm guessing it's something related to my carrier or network.
EDIT: my Mobile network shows : HSDPA:9
what's yours ?

I use the sim connection rarely (always Wi-fi)
I'm in 2G mode for battery save and no mobile data, so i'm in GPRS:1
This is the type of the network which is connected now.
But it's impossibile it's the carrier! This tablet has a network module same as the other smartphone in commerce.
Have you try to use another tipe of speed connection like HSUPA, HSPA, UMTS?
Or you can simply put 2G mode and use the wi-fi connection so you save battery and use 2G only for message/call and, when you want, you can turn off wi-fi and use 3G mode for the mobile data (UMTS, HSPA, HSDPA, HSUPA) automatically which is the preferred in your location.
It turned out, that it's all about my carrier. There is some kind of check performed be the wifi module, and when it finds out that your from certain countries, it disables wifi. And that can be solved by changing the Wifi country code in Secure system settings, or by using this :

Will you please guide me on steps performed for reverting back to stock firmware from CM build on Samsung tab 2 P3100. I am not able to flash PDA file in ODIN, pelase help me.

Try odin 1.85
Install kies for drivers
Reboot after installing kies
Put tab into download mode volume down+power
Connect tab to pc from read of case not front usb ports
See if tab known by odin ( yellow bar+com number)
Download correct firmware for your tab try www.samfirmware.com
Browse for tar file or tar.md5 in pda area of odin
Click start and wait till pass and green bar
Done

Well i have searched many forums for solution of this problem. eventually i came to know that problems with wifi can be different in for different mobiles even if they are of same model.My problem is that when i try to turn on WIFI it shows error. I went into the advanced settings for wifi and MAC address was missing in there. I tried *#*#526#*#* code because in some forums they have told that it fixed their problem but didnot work for me. Detailed information is below.
The details for my mobile are as follows:

the problem started after i got my phone rooted by one of my friend in order to unlock it.At first i was really happy because when i inserted the sim it recognized it i gave a call to my friend also.But soon one of my friend informed me that when ever he calls me the number is busy toned.I tried it then the problem was that the mobile wont ring and disconnect the phone on the first ring itself.then it was like if there was only problems with it.The home button was also not working. The icon for play store was also missing.And the main problem of all was that wifi wont turn on.
I took it to my friend he fixed every thing else i.e home button ,call problem, and now i can go into play store also.which reminds me that data network and blue tooth are working fine.do any body have a solution that might fix the problem. I have no idea what package did my friend use to rooted the device.
Android Device with out wifi is not that interesting to use

I used to got this problem when i root my phone. I'm curious, who did your friend root it? Try ask him. This WiFi problem can be solved by using Bam Custom Kernel or flash a custom ROM. Bam Custom Kernel, link

Flash cf-root. worked for me.
Flash in odin .put cf-root file in PDA. Now put ur phone in downloading mode and flash it.

but i got no signal no IMEI.
I ve made quite a search here in xda to find a solution about his but nothing really works.
anyone got anything about this? does anyone have this problem aswell?

and now it works. I don`t know what i was doing wrong before. but i my cwm kept booting leaving no time to install custom rom, wipe data, etc.
but now everything works well.

I'm using cm-10-20131224-FXP-jlo and everything is great except WiFi.
1-I can turn it on and it works great,
2-but when I turn it off
3-and then want to connect again to my home network it says not in range.
Any solution ?
