Circular battery indicator to replace standard one, is there any out yet for o3d ?
Me too
I would also like to know if there is an easy way to mod the battery icon, As i remember there was an app on the market for the Galaxy-s, Would this be possible for O3D?
Regards
Mark
You should try using uot kitchen or a theme from the theme and apps section. You can change quite a bit on there.
I'm a bit of a newbie but could someone make an apk that changes the battery icon for rooted devices. I looked at the kitchen and didnt feel too comfortable doing it!!!

As in no clock on the notification bar?
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App
yerp, haha... I mean, we already have a clock on the ticker, why do we need another one? lol that is what i was saying
I know what you mean. I'd take it. Could I just flash it over the gb theme?
And also, is there any way you can get a 1% accurate battery icon in the notification bar? XD
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App
I was looking into getting rid of the clock in he status bar and getting 1% battery incriminates but I never seemed to get it to work right. I did have a custom battery icon but all the icons I found were like 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 etc and I didn't feel like making my own
the images for 1% battery increments are in framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi in the gingerbread theme zip it looks like nitsuj17 tried to put them in there but unfortunatly didn't finish it... Wish I could be of more help XP

I got accurate mod working, I'll upload later xP

Sweet! I'll be happy to try this out. It would be nice to have more space on the notification bar.
I dont really know anything about developing or themes but I just need the signal bars like the one in the leaked ICS picture. Pretty much honeycomb signal bars but cyan since I use the cyanbread theme.

It can't be that hard.. I'm using eaglesblood 2.3.5. I'm guessing you have to edit something in the framework but no clue what.

If you are using a CM7 rom or one with Theme Support, why not just download a baby blue theme?
I'm using Captivated which is awesome. It has a baby blue theme. Really high quality and free from the market. The Donate version has some extra walls but the theme itself it the same on both. Haven't had an issue except some of the notification toggles aren't themed, like WiFi Sharing.
It's awesome because the battery icons look like the Galaxy line (Captivated, duh) except they have the percentage number. To get the themed battery icon, you have to DISABLE the Battery Percentage toggle in Cyanogen Mod Settings (which is kinda backward). If it is ENABLED you'll get the stock CM percentage icon, DISABLED you'll get the Themed percentage icon.
Sorry its not the information you wanted but I kinda danced around a solution and provided an alternative.

Hi guys.
Back when I was using my Desire HD I'd rooted my phone and installed Miui. My favourite feature was the battery bar that ran across the top of the notification bar (see http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/222/f/b/wip__by_chrisbanks2-d464k4m.png)
Anyway, now I'm on GNex and I totally miss this feature. I was wondering if something like a 4x1 widget that could display a battery line along the top of the widget to be placed on the top of a page as I've photoshopped above. The first image shows a 100% battery and the second 40%.
Anyway, just an idea someone might wanna follow up I certainly wouldn't mind paying a couple of quid for this and I'm sure other people would agree.

I had done this before when I switched from miui back to CM7 on my Incredible, but it gave my phone a lot of problems. I would love if an app like the OP mentioned were made, I really miss this from miui.

Ah just tried this. It works well though the colour scheme is a bit iffy. Wasn't aware that something like this was possible as a standalone app

Big THANK to you noranyan for giving us this link !
I was looking for a MIUI-like Battery Bar for days, and now, it's done !
So thank you !
@kaineshutler : you're right, the color sheme is a bit iffy, but stay tuned because perhaps the dev will implement a color selection in the future...
Recently, he added the ability to put the bar on bottom.
So it means that the dev is still working on it !
Thanks for pointing this battery app out. Probably would have never found it. Hope the dev keeps updating it.
On thing I noticed good or bad is that the battery bar is always shown in any app so far, even games. I like it because some games do not show battery, and this is pretty unobtrusive.
How to remove battery from status bar now? Is the only way a smali edit?

xda post for the app:

You can customize the height, location and color of the bar with this.
Cheers.
Hello Forum. I would like to know how do I go about changing the battery icon in the ASOP Style v3.3.1 rom to look like the Valhalla Final battery icon? I was going to just replace the framework.apk with the new icons but the battery icon in ASOP goes in 1% increments rather then 5% like Valhalla. I would appreciate any help I can get since I'm a noob at this stuff. Thanks in advance!
download rom toolbox from market...
you can change the icons there...
there's Alot of icons to choose from

Im willing to help others...
Feel free to pm and ask a question...
*just don't flame if I get something wrong sometimes, I'm only a HUMAN NOT AN ANDROID :-D
Oh btw.. Hit thanks if I helped
Thanks for the response. I have looked at Rom Toolbox as an option but it doesn't quite have the same battery icon I'm looking for. I was really hoping for directions to just port over the Valhalla icon myself, if that's even possible.

You might just try pushing the tweaks.apk in your ROM. It might have the battery icon you are looking for in it. I don't know. Just a though. I am suggesting this because this is where we have our status bar tweaks, including battery, on VB Final.
You can read over this to see what the tweaks are for.
Thanks I'll give it a try.

Didn't work.
Ok so I pushed the Tweak.apk to the /system/app folder but it didn't help. I think the battery icons are located in the SystemUI.apk file. Which is what i originally was going to push but there are far more battery icons in the ASOP rom then Valhalla.
So I guess what I want to know is how do I change the mod of 1% battery increments to 5% so that I can use Valhalla's icons. I still appreciate the suggestions though.

I could be wrong but just replace them. If there is no icon to show it will leave the current one until the next one with the proper name is called.
Just rename them exactly like the current ones on the 5% mark are and delete the old ones. If you use UOT that is how it would do it.
Ok so I replaced the icons and now the battery icon is a constant red bar with an exclamation point. I named all the icons accordingly and erased the extra ones but no luck. Let me know if I did something wrong, thanks.

Got it!
After many attempts and fails I finally got it to work. What I was doing wrong was not adding the stat_sys_battery.xml and stat_sys_battery_charging.xml file to the framework apk. I just took them from the Valhalla rom. I'd like to thank everyone for the ideas and suggestions.
anyone know of any good battery monitoring apps like battery mate/battery changer? i want the app to overlay the original batt icon & show percentages with 1% increments + batt temp. or could a pro dev kindly help pls..?
*though i know that i can just install something like Battery Notifier Big Text and use *#*#4646#*#* to check the other batt info... :/
No you cannot ask for paid app apk's. If you had read the xda rules upon creating an account you would know this.
As for your other questions I couldn't tell you

I agree with this.
Market apps will not overlay the original icon.
I had success with the battery icon change with my Note.
Just make sure to read the instructions carefully and do Nandroid backup before trying anything.
