Just wanted to give props to Otterbox. I have the Defender case and I wear it everyday on my belt to work as an IT Support Engineer. Today I was getting into the CEO's Jaguar and the belt clip caught on his leather seat and busted. I was not pleased but I called Otterbox and they said no problem we will send you a couple of spare belt clips no problem!!! Now that is customer service and I am glad I bought the Defender even though it cost a fortune.

Do you have any scratches on the top part of the chrome band of the phone?
Yeah that's a side effect of having it I suppose. Mine has light hardly noticeable ones.

If all companies would have that good of customer service. We would live in a happy place. Thats what i call great service =)
Did you order it from otterbox directly? I broke my clip, but I ordered from ebay.
How is the skyrocket with defender, is it small enough to fit into a pocket or its the best with the belt clip?

AT&T will also replace the entire case if any party breaks within the first year. I broke the clips that holds the two plastic halves together and the swapped mine out.

Otterbox has saved my phone on many occasions since I got one. I've never broken a phone but my Galaxy Skyrocket feels so light and breakable.
I would highly recommend any Otterbox products to anybody!
I got the commuter and had a crack develop on the outer shell from the inside of the USB port outward. I submitted a support ticket on their site and the next day received a shipping confirmation and email for my replacement case! I was totally blown away, amazing to find a company that so painlessly stands by their products!
Ordered from Amazon fyi.

Huge Otterbox fan, had them on all of my iPhones. Was going to get one for my Skyrocket but got a Sedio Active case thrown in for free. Otterbox quality is fantastic though.
Dropped my Otterbox Defender cased phone on almost ANY surface you can imagine and I've yet to have a phone even scratched. The case may look like hell, but the phone always survives so I've always been sold.
BTW: I used Otterbox cases back before they started making phone cases. They made weather resistant cases for field data equipment that were always the gold standard so they've got 10+ years experience with their stuff! :good:
I've got a Defender on my Skyrocket. Bought it from Amazon to keep the price reasonable (~$35 incl. shipping), and it's taken plenty of hits without the phone being damaged at all. By far the best phone case I've had, even if it is on the bulky side.
I have the otter box "impact".. I like it better than the defender due to small size... and my phone bounces

I have a Defender for my Skyrocket, and it's saved me a couple of cracked screens for sure! I've had a Defender for my Blackberry Bold, iPhone, Atrix, and Defender. I won't buy a phone until I know there's going to be a Defender for it
Their customer service is top notch. Had to get a few replacement belt clips from them in the past, always prompt and free
I do have one question though, has anybody gotten either of the other series (impact or commuter) for their Skyrocket? I need a case for the weekends that I can put in my pocket and not have to worry about looking like a retard when I TRY to pull my phone out of my pocket.
Impact is a pita in the pocket. Rubber case is high friction.

I love otterbox. They always send me replacements and are so nice about it.
I also like ballistic cases. They send parts too. Sent me a new case in a different color when I had mine come apart from too many battery pulls.
I have two otterbox defenders for the infuse and two ballistic hc's for the infuse.
Otterbox defender on the way this week for this skyrocket. Two color, can't wait to get it. Working as a glazier (glass guy) I really depend on a good case with belt holster / clip.
Galaxy nexus holster works INCREDIBLY FLAWLESS with this device (just the hard holster). I saw the holster sitting on top of my night stand and gave it a try (I'm a previous gnex owner). It fits AMAZING like it was made for the nexus 4, both frontwards and backwards BUT you have to have a hard shell Case on it, I have a black diztronic hard shell and the combo is BEAUTIFUL, guessing it works with ringke slim. If you do some searching you might be able to find it cheaper than the one listed (I didn't look too hard) also the phone does NOT scratch when sliding it in the holster since there is a small lip from the diztronic case on the sides of the phone. The pictures were taken with an old T-Mobile G2 excuse the quality.

I'm using the diztronic hard shell with the Seidio surface holster made for the Gnex and it JUST holds firm. I saw someone with the Rearth Rinke use the same holster without an issue as well. I posted that a few weeks ago.
I also tested out that the naked or full bodied covered (like BSE) can fit in the HTC Sensation Seidio Active Holster as well. Just a FYI
PS Did you get the Nillkin case yet? Figured I'd ask anyways.

Just firm? Hmmm that's strange cause they're for the same phone (gnex) this holster holds like it was made for it. I violently shook it around and it didn't even budge. Im loving the way it looks with the diz.
And I haven't gotten the nillkin case, mailman just brought this one. No nillkin or ringke yet. Hopefully tomorrow

I've used several different screen protectors for my one x including body shield and invisishield and the best one ive used so far is the screen protector that otterbox included with their commuter case.
I was trying to find a way to buy more of them but they don't sell them online.
However, their one year warranty includes the screen protector.
I just called otterbox and they are sending me a new screen protector for free, and it doesn't use/void your warranty. :good:
I found invisishields a pain to apply, and have a rubbery feel that I hate.
The body shield was easy to apply (static cling) but also has a rubbery feel (not as much as invisishield).

Thanks for the tip chief. Though I've never had to contact Otterbox directly, they make quality stuff and after hearing what I have in regards to their customer service, this doesn't surprise me. Great company.
I will say though that when I decided to take my since-day-one Defender case off (because I mistreat my sh*t enough to actually justify that), I went ahead and dropped $40 on full body Zagg stuff installed at a kiosk. If it weren't for the rubbery texture on the InvisibleShields, I'd have DEFINITELY dropped mine enough to make me put the Defender back on.
They shipped the new screen protector express, for free.
I got it within 2 days of calling them.
A+++
I couldn't manage to apply mine without some dust/bubbles.. I may have to try and get a replacement one.
Just sticking with the zagg shield and commuter. See no reason to upgrade to a bulky defender.

I'm using the commuter, it comes with a screen protector that I consider better than zaggs.
Just ordered this case, thanks for helping me make my decision
Great info going to pick up a commuter case.
I can strongly agree with op. The screen protector they include is the only one ive actually left on any phone.

Use scotch tape two pieces use one on the front to lift the corner(so there aren't any bends in the protector) use the other to dab underneath the protector to remove dust particle and good as new.

commuter case
I've been using the commuter case for several months now. Its one damn tough case! It has saved my phone countless times and take insanley hard hits for a phone (dented what it hit and the phone was fine). I went with the Anti glare screen protector at the AT&T store. Its tough and is hard to scratch the protector itself. no rubbery texture either.
What are some of the best looking cases out there ? Plain cases like the otter box and that not with designs and stuff. And also some battery backup cases.

I use and love the nillkin TPU case. Had a few others, but went back to this. I love it because it is sleek and has a lip to protect the camera:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nillkin-Sof...046?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item460847d50e
For power, there is the Mugen cases:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/htc/htc-one-xl.html
I just ordered a bag-o-cases from cruzerlite when they were giving away 30% off coupons. I love their designs, but don't like that there is no protection for the camera, but we will see:
http://www.cruzerlite.com/
I'm preferential to this case:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007WGFN8E/ref=aw_cr_item_title
It's thin; offers protection for the screen, camera, and body; has the cool dual-textured back; and grips my car's console so my phone doesn't go flying around the car while I drive.

Do you know if anyone else is selling the clear black nillkin case?
I bought THIS a while back and have been happy with it. It was cheap. It feels good in the hand. It doesn't add that much bulk to the phone, (i.e. otterbox type stuff), and gives a bit more security for drops than just a TPU or silicone case. Only problem I've had with it is it peels up the screen protector on the bottom right corner. So yeah, good purchase for under $4.
Thanks for the link. The phone my cousin gave came with an otterbox case. Didn't like it. I really like the nillkin one. Found a grey one. Hopefully same as clear black.

I prefer the otter box defender series, ya its bulky but its tougher than nails. I have dropped this thing from 20 ft up and no scratches or broken parts.

Gotta agree with the otter box. I couldn't find the commuter series in my local store so I bought the defender and falcon pawnched the screen out and BAM instant commuter series.

In really liking the Seidio Active case. It's stylish and had protected my phone through a few rough drops.
Is the seidio active a one piece design? For some reason it looks like a 2 piece to me?

I have a speck case (which I bought from at&t, the day after the phone was released). It looks horrendous, but it does it's job. It's been over a year since it's release, and I've seen some good ones over the web (usually just browse random mobile websites). You'll come across something you like.
I've gone to not using a case though, as I really like the slim candybar feel.
I used to use an Otterbox...but the port covers fell off so I tried the Trident Kraken. The case looks really nice but it is SUPER BULKY. I was surprised at first how big the case was. I like the case and the how it looks...but I probably wouldn't buy it again

That's what I got after I ditched the otterbox. The kraken ams case is average at best. Bulky as **** and the top left part of the plastic piece that fits on the screen side decided to to snap and break. Didn't drop it or anything just pulled it out of my pocket weird and the skinny piece of plastic snapped clean in two. I have since taken the outer plastic shell off and have been using the silicone innards as a case. Doesn't even fit right and its entirely too loose to really be useful. I don't have a choice until I get another case.
Thinking about getting either he incipio hard shell or whatever its called or a seidio active
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
I got the ottorbox commuter (way cheaper on amazon then retail)
Got it after my screen shattered after dropping it 4 feet in a tpu case.
Absolutely love it. Not too bulky and great protection (check YouTube videos)
(The only time I wouldn't recommend it is if y need to take it out of the case frequently cuz its a pita)

I had this a while ago:
http://www.incipio.com/cases/smartp...feather-shine-ultralight-hard-shell-case.html
Was really nice while it lasted, unfortunately the corners started cracking. Really damn sexy case though, everyone who saw it was like "Whats that??!?"
Overall though, I can't recommend it since it cracked. I've been running caseless for a while now. Its nice.
Does anyone know if the cases being sold on amazon, eBay and other places just fit the phone itself? Not like with the moto shell style on right? Are there any cases that would fit WITH the shell style on?
The hard plastic one that comes with the phone works well with the style shell and this one from Verizon, I've read in other forums, works well with mods.
