new files and OTA size?

i remember the first one hiting and it DID say 22 MB...now talk of (new vzw permission files)...also this new update when i checked today ssays 35MB....obviously somethin is diferent...maybe when RUU is ACTUALLY released it will have different numbers on THE LAST SET of identifying numbers..hense this leaked is (PG05IMG_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.13.605.7_Radio_1.16.00 .0402w_NV_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release_182727_signed.zipp)
maybe new RUU when ACTUALLY RELEASED will be as such(PG05IMG_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.13.605.7_Radio_1.16.00 .0402w_NV_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release_(*******)_signed.zi p...or even as simple as the (8k_1.41_9k_) part turning into(8k_1.41_**k_)???any thoughts?

Nothing is different, the only thing that may have happened is they updated some of the bloatware and repacked it.

I used bubby's rooting program, and something happened where I can't hear anything in call, and it's not S-OFF, it's still on.

Ok here is what you do. Take the phone, remove any case you have on it. Pull the battery. Remove the SD card. Then remove them sim. Then turn it off. Nowbput it back in the box and return it.. or you could read the stickie at the top........ Quit spamming the board.. sheesh

You're gonna have to do the whole process over again. Youre goldcard should he ok...but you really oughtta do it all over again.
This time don't stop till it absolutely says you're done...read, follow the video...step by step.

Do, I just plug it in and unroot it, or the whole process over again?

Mud I read both post although similar it seems to be two questions caused by the same prob. I say get a mod to close the other and cheef well try to solve your prob here. For future notice keep all questions together to reduce clutter. And thanks mud for jumping in and assisting.

This OP has created like 3-4 new threads, post root attempt. Regulars are attempting to help. It's not absorbing.
OP was advised yesterday to do some reading and learn a little bit of the basics (you know, stuff like, what is s-On, what is a bootloader) of the phone prior to rooting.
Responded that the stickied guide was too hard. Wanted people to "send him the root program." Went ahead and did anyway. Was referred to the faq of his rooting method, and *again* to mudknot's guide, where his questions would have been easily answered.
And now here we are, third new thread, asking for a personalized bail-out.
And he'll say I'm trolling, probably.

Thanks mud. I think he needs a good lesson though. Otherwise hell keep doing it. I understand it sucks when you mess up your phone. Took me 2 hours to root cause i had problems. Learn to use the search feature and Google. Do your research. I have only made post recently never asked a question ( today was my first post). Your not the only one that's had these problems which means the answers out there.

Ok OP, you just answered your own question: 2.3.3. Please stop posting stuff that can be easily found by surfing through the dev section for a bit. If you were to open, or maybe even look at (oh the horror) some of the threads in the dev section marked [KERNEL] and saw them labeled for 2.3.3 then you could have answered your own question without making yourself look stupid and gain a bad reputation.

Some of his other posts have been damn near incomprehensible. It's the asking questions that have been answered before, and the demanding answers and links without searching, and the one that gets me most, being rude to people who are trying to help.
Maybe it's because I am an old guy but, I just don't think people should act that way especially in a community based forum where people try to help each other.
And he wants to develop a rom and i applaud him for that. But A) he is going to need to do some reading. And B) who is going to flash someone's rom when they can barely read the OP?
I am just trying to help him understand that there is a social code that should be followed.

If LG were to release ICS on the G2X? I see devs making great ROMs for it yet are hindered by a lack of drivers, which I assume would be part of an official ICS update. Any devs care to comment?

Not really. Pricks like him are abundant on forums, even the respected forums here on XDA. Still, just saying "what isn't working now will work" is not enough. With those broken features working, could devs be motivated to step up custom scripts and mods that go beyond even what's available now?

Respected forums? Xda? Maybe like before Android, not anymore now.
A lot of people are just disappointed with the same questions being asked like 5 times when you could just click a page or 2 back and see the same topic already discussed.
We just need an active moderator for these forums to merge the redundant topics together.

I don't know, I got my ass warmed for spamming, but then they hired me to spam professionally. I'm not trying to start anything, mt3g we've been down that road, accomplished nothing. Anyhow, my question is, and I understand basically, but why do you guys worry so much about people starting new threads? Its not using any storage space that would affect any of us. When a new thread is started, no matter if there's a thousand just like it, it promotes social gathering and in most cases, usefull information. Now, instead of a duplicate thread with new and useful information, its a duplicate thread with new and useful information that's been cluttered by flamers and rent-a-thread cops. Does it make sense? And I could care less if they do sign yours, I'm not trying to mod or be a cop, I would like to come to a forum that I enjoyed for about 3-4 years until lately. This is the sloppiest and most unorganized phone e section I've read... the MyTouch 3G and G1 are still modded it seems, the O2X is incredibly controlled... the tempo and mood would be a lot better and here from a lot of members some would stick around and others wouldn't leave. I'm surprised whitehawkX came back and EaglesBlood is still here... if I'm that big of a problem the mods will come and say something to me and I will behave but until then.... deal with me I guess.

How did you get any of that from what I said? Quote specifically please, and I will reiterate what was confused... I would never want that! That's the only reason I'm still with the g2x, I'm saying the repetitiveness of useless threads ("how do you update baseband, and how come I hear these noises when I call someone after installing this rom, I'm coming from 2.3.4 I received yesterday.") anything of that nature is what's wrong with this forum.

Anyway... yes, this forum needs an active moderator, pretty desperately in fact.
If I can find that post that a moderator put about what xda is and is not... perfect post.

I'm coming to the G2x from a few other Android phones (LG Optimus V & Motorola Triumph) and it was hard to find the relevant and important info here even though I've written guides & developed for other Android phones before.
There's no need to depend on moderators, just a default thread to point everyone to with a FAQ section (maybe eventually sticky it or put it on the top of the stickied thread). Then it should be updated regularly by a person with good writing skills. or even a wikipage on github that a select few can update so the burden isn't on one person. Anyway I know it's towards the end of the G2x's lifecycle (until official ICS maybe), so none of this may matter, but just suggesting for future reference. Good, clean, & simple documentation prevents a lot of repeated questions.
