Try looking again, or try a Google search. I did, and it took two seconds to see an answer, But you may have to... Gulp... read a bit... Next question, why did you settle on xboarders rom? Why not cm7 Nightlies, or weapon, or miui?

Ok OP, you just answered your own question: 2.3.3. Please stop posting stuff that can be easily found by surfing through the dev section for a bit. If you were to open, or maybe even look at (oh the horror) some of the threads in the dev section marked [KERNEL] and saw them labeled for 2.3.3 then you could have answered your own question without making yourself look stupid and gain a bad reputation.

I can understand that you guys get annoyed with him if he is just trying to get his post count up I really dont know or care if that is what is going on but come on stop picking on people who misspell unless it is really bad and you cant understand it. But if you didnt understand what the op meand in the first post then you are the idiot not him. I make spelling mistakes all the time sometimes it is because i am not so good with the touch screen and other times it is because I am too lazy to go back and fix it. Just ligghten up alittle some of you guys are tight asses and that is really getting annoying.

Some of his other posts have been damn near incomprehensible. It's the asking questions that have been answered before, and the demanding answers and links without searching, and the one that gets me most, being rude to people who are trying to help.
Maybe it's because I am an old guy but, I just don't think people should act that way especially in a community based forum where people try to help each other.
And he wants to develop a rom and i applaud him for that. But A) he is going to need to do some reading. And B) who is going to flash someone's rom when they can barely read the OP?
I am just trying to help him understand that there is a social code that should be followed.

Slowly, more and more, I think the same thing as you.
I respond to these threads trying to help. The user (op) is at square one and has no clue what to do. Regardless of how many sticky threads or putting stuff in your signature to help inform users of how to get help and what the rules are, they still just randomly flash things and say "It doesn't work" without telling you what didn't work.
Personally, I don't see this issue as often on other forums. Maybe xda-developers has a power that draws in clueless newbs that won't listen to anyone or read.
If another 15yo emails me about helping with kernel stuff and has no clue what shell scripting is, I'm going to bail from XDA.
I've spent a lot of time lurking, helping, and reading... like the rest of you. I have my own *life* problems to deal with as well.

If LG were to release ICS on the G2X? I see devs making great ROMs for it yet are hindered by a lack of drivers, which I assume would be part of an official ICS update. Any devs care to comment?

Not really. Pricks like him are abundant on forums, even the respected forums here on XDA. Still, just saying "what isn't working now will work" is not enough. With those broken features working, could devs be motivated to step up custom scripts and mods that go beyond even what's available now?

A lot of people are just disappointed with the same questions being asked like 5 times when you could just click a page or 2 back and see the same topic already discussed.
We just need an active moderator for these forums to merge the redundant topics together.

I don't know, I got my ass warmed for spamming, but then they hired me to spam professionally. I'm not trying to start anything, mt3g we've been down that road, accomplished nothing. Anyhow, my question is, and I understand basically, but why do you guys worry so much about people starting new threads? Its not using any storage space that would affect any of us. When a new thread is started, no matter if there's a thousand just like it, it promotes social gathering and in most cases, usefull information. But(never start a sentence with this), when you guys run your cruisers down here and go Gestapo on the op's, that's even more useless than the duplicate thread. I'm coming to the G2x from a few other Android phones (LG Optimus V & Motorola Triumph) and it was hard to find the relevant and important info here even though I've written guides & developed for other Android phones before.
There's no need to depend on moderators, just a default thread to point everyone to with a FAQ section (maybe eventually sticky it or put it on the top of the stickied thread). Then it should be updated regularly by a person with good writing skills. or even a wikipage on github that a select few can update so the burden isn't on one person. Anyway I know it's towards the end of the G2x's lifecycle (until official ICS maybe), so none of this may matter, but just suggesting for future reference. Good, clean, & simple documentation prevents a lot of repeated questions.

I'm sorry, but i just can't take it anymore. Every morning for the past few weeks, I'd go on xda, anticipating some great new app, ROM, or just anything. And lately, there's been a lot new roms, which i love and thank the devs very much for. But with those roms came new questions and problems. I understood that people had simple questions to ask, and those questions were answered. But after a while, the forums just turned to...uh garbage. Everybody is asking the same questions that were answered time after time, not reading and posting the same things over and over. Also, everyone feels the need to be rude to others or argue. If it's something about a rom, fine. But if it's a post saying how you suck or if it's a repeated question, don't feed the fire by adding back or acknowledging that question. Just ignore it. I'm sorry for this long post,i just looked at the AOKP Q&A, and it's 40 pages. There's absolutely no reason for it to be that long, and most of it is repeated questions and people fighting with each other. This is the internet, you're never gonna see each other, so don't be offended. If I'm breaking any forum rules, again, I'm sorry. It just seems that is in style lately.

It's a never ending cycle. When development pics up, so does the acts of noob... I am guilty of it too. As for loosing the search button, it happens a lot. Erik and I was just discussing that the other night...lol
Bottom line, as long as the dev threads are clean, then it shouldn't really be a problem. When real issues come up, we dev's usually post them in our threads. As for the q&a's, we should focus to keep those clean as well, because there can be a lot of useful information post there as well.
Well i use xda on my phone, and for some reason, whenever i try to search, everything comes up as 0 results, so that's why i had to use those threads. But you know, you learn from your past mistakes. Now i reflash when something goes wrong in a ROM, and i read more. But, like i said, it's getting harder to read, when the whole forum is becoming cluttered

Regarding searching from the app, I don't. The search function sucks from the app, so I wait until I have time to search from my laptop, then start a thread if no results can be found.
Patience is key, its just a phone wait til you can properly attempt to help yourself before asking for assistance.

Almost all important info you will ever need are in the stickies. If you like something specific like i do bookmark it or subscribe to it. I can only imagine if you get a very popular phone that would be hell to ppl like you.

Seriously, I've never seen any comment you've made on XDA that adds value or benefit to any discussion. That's why I report everything because 99.9% of everything about the skyrockets been covered and the things that haven't have a correct place I watched this place go from tight knit knowledgeable bunch to a circus of idiots that can't wipe their own butts and want us to fix their problems making no other contributions if you want my cred talk to those who know me M0d r4ins cdshepard mindmajick xcrazydx those are just a small few that know I've done a ton to help this community on aside from trolling

But back on track, to the op, ETA's for cm10 are unknown. They're currently working on getting the codebase stable, but once that's done second tier features like this one will be implemented

This was asked on my thread and the best answer is: it's up to you. If it's important to you, see if you can hack it out. Or try to get someone to work on it for you. And I used to give **** to illnevertell, who coincidentally is someone I'd call a friend now. Does he troll? yeah. Could it be called annoying to some? Sure, but he has a point and his hearts in the right place. As I've mentioned before, its like being a government employee; when you deal with assholes and morons all day long, you begin to think that everybody is one. Question after question that could be handled without wasting anyone's time gets annoying as well. I actually saw a thread begun a while back for a douche mad at XDA and everyone in it because the idiot asked a dumb question in a dumber way and got his panties all bunched up at some ribbing about it. I believe it was something to the effect of "I am going to tell everyone I know on the net to stay away from XDA". Seriously? This is supposed to be a learning and sharing forum, not ****ing tech support for morons who want a flashy phone without doing anything to earn it. Go on ****ing Craigslist and find one of those assholes who sell ROM flashing, ok?

I am one of the testers for EdgeHoods new ROM: ENVY. Im writing this to give you all a heads up on how GREAT this rom is! I honestly believe it is the best rom i have tried..and i've tried a few already and just honestly its the best. Its snappy, fast and just all around great! Im getting unbelievable battery life...about 14-20 hours(depending on if i use my phone alot) on 1 charge while on wifi. Its really truly great and when the rom comes out for everyone i highly recommend that all try it and see for yourself. If any of the testers wanna post something go for it because i know you guys love it too! BE ENVIOUS!

Actually yes you got through a whole process while you sign up, hopefully you read that and the video of how not be a noob. We don't wanna say you are but like it causes problems on developers and the forums if we have constant clutter with all these types of threads that can be considered useless if there have already been solves threads of the same exact problem and such. I don't wanna sound mean but I don't really enforce this, this is just the way this site it. To be honest, I actually think we won't have much people on here if it weren't for one click roots and such meaning less noobs who end up having problem for their lack of rudimentary knowledge towards the android world.

There may be another thread for it, but at some point we're all beginners and learning how to use a new system (forum system in this case). Let him get his post count up and if you don't like this thread or if you insist on complaining about this thread, just let it die out and don't post your complaints here.
