Is anyone else having issues with the bluetooth connectivity with their HTC Inspire? It pairs with my car with no issues. The bluetooth drops in and out. It says bluetooth headset connected... then 1 minute later it says bluetooth headset disconnected... and so on.
The car doesn't recognize that it is gone so the sound stops on the speakers in the car but the phone doesn't switch the source to the phone. I have to switch it manually to get back to my call.
Anyhow, I see a lot of articles on google where people are complaining about this but I have been unable to find any resolution. Has anyone here had this issue and resolved it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Same is happening with mine. I paired my inspire with the car and it connects. But if I use it no connection or doesn't dial. When I receive a call and disconnect, my car will stop the connection but the phone stays on.
I might be restoring to stock to see if it's just an inspire thing or bug with different ROM's

I am using my phone stock and was thinking about rooting it if it would fix it. I am new to Droid phones so I have not read enough to be comfortable with rooting quite yet...
Have you found any solution to this issue? I've just bought a BT headphone (Plantronics 903+), and as a I put it in my left pocket (where it is supposed to be placed since the headphone antenna in the left side), connection dropping starts and never stop happening. The movement seems to stress the connection quality and it gets really annoying, I can't listen to music without having this chopped streaming all the time.
I thought to post this question here since this is the only post I found about the same issue, but I will put a specific one about Plantronics and Inspire if I can't come out with a solution. I'm really very disappointed now with the headset, the phone or I don't really know which one is the guilty one.
Thanks in advance
it will not work. since after rooting, my phone cannot pair with my Garmin GPS, but it did with the stock rom.

I still have the stock rom
I don't know if this came from 6.0, because I can't remember this being a big problem until about two weeks ago.
When I'm listening to podcasts or audio books on bluetooth there are two kinds of disconnections happening.
The first is a normal one where the headset just goes "phone one disconnected" and suddenly I have sound coming out of my pocket. Annoying, but usually explainable by me bending over in the wrong way so that the signal suddenly became weaker or something. But this has been happening FAR more lately.
The other one is weirder. The sound will just drop out from the bluetooth device, and sound will come out of the phone. In this case signal strength isn't in any way related, because it literally happens when connected to a Logitech Boom sitting right next to the phone, or when I'm holding my phone in my hand and holding it right next to my ear where the headset is.
So my question is: is there a semi-known bug with Bluetooth in 6.0? If there is, how do I fix it, if there isn't... How do I fix it?
The only thing I haven't tried is reformatting the phone, but I'm considering doing that and derooting, since the only reason I'm rooted right now is to get rid of the wireless charging sound, and that's not that important to me.
I'm having an issue with my Idol 3 5.5". It functions normally when in handset or speaker mode I can hear the other party and they can hear me, but when I connect to my car's Bluetooth people tell me they can't hear me or it sounds like the mic is far away and under water. I did not have this problem with my last phone so I do not believe the issue is with my car (it's a Grom unit) I have only had this phone for a couple weeks and have had the issue from the beginning.
I'm running 6.0.1 stock ROM build 7VAB-UEB0
So far I have tried:
turning off and on Bluetooth on my phone during or right before calls
unpairing and repairing my car
I am charging an old Bluetooth earpiece to try that today and make sure it isn't an issue with my car.
Anyone else have this issue and were you able to solve it?
Me too, dont know what to do

Not the same issue. That thread is talking about poor/low microphone when recording video. This thread is about poor microphone quality through bluetooth, which does not use the phone's microphone.
I'm still trying to determine what the issue is. I tried using an old bluetooth headset and the test call was fine so I will try it tomorrow while driving to confirm. It might be that the Idol doesn't like certain bt devices.
Just got a MediaPad X2. It was the 702L, but I followed the helpful guides here and I've unlocked and loaded KangVIP slim B211, so now its a 703L. Everything seems pretty awesome and I'm liking it. However, I've noticed the bluetooth seems to be weak and/or micro cutting out.
Yesterday, while listening to music with Bluetooth headphones, the sound frequently cut out even though the phone was close to the headpohones. When making calls with a Bluetooth headset, the other person says my voice fades in and out and has static.
I read on another thread here that WIFI might be interfering, so I turned off WIFI on the phone. The bluetooth seemed to get better, but my friend says it was still not good. I turned off the headset and used the phone itself, and he said the voice quality was perfect, so I don't think the issue is the phone itself.
Is there a way to boost the power to the Bluetooth signal? Has anyone else had any issues with Bluetooth?
Thanks!

I experience the exact same thing with my Bluetooth headset but was not sure if it was the headset or device. Now I'm thinking device!
Interesting. Today I discovered that there might be some interference coming from my Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse. While on a call, I unplugged the wireless USB dongle and took the batteries out of the keyboard and mouse. The person on the phone said the call quality got suddenly better!?? Going to keep trying calls in different places to see if that wireless interference might be the issue.
I can't consistently reproduce it, but it has happened several times already. Every so often the phone will inject a nasty electronic squeal into the sound output, particularly noticeable on Bluetooth. I originally assumed it was just a lost Bluetooth packet or something, but then when I turned off the receiver the sound continued to come out of the speakers intermittently for about a minute! I have Jaybird Bluebud X headphones and my car connects via bluetooth as well.
I've also had issues with the phone audio getting super choppy on initial connection, and the Bluetooth module seems to have major interference with at least one of the 2.4Ghz Wifi bands... unfortunately the precise band that the router in the gym picked, so bluetooth audio + wifi is basically impossible (constant stuttering).
Anyone else having issues?
Nope not here ???

I've definitely had the squeal. I also had the low volume over Bluetooth while in call bug.
Yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've had this happen several times (but not consistently) while playing music in Google Play Music.
I don't really have a recent phone to compare to, but the M8 never did that even as the rest of the hardware has been slowly dying these last few months. I guess it's more noticeable since on Bluetooth I'm usually in my car with the volume up... The sound is like fingernails on a chalkboard ?

I got that high pitch noise a couple of times on two different HTC U11 phones from the bottom speaker I think (not using a headset). It happened both times when I was using Chrome on a particular web page. I closed the page and it never happened again on my first phone. I exchanged that one due to a minor display defect and same thing happened on my second phone. On both phones it happened early on once I had everything setup and never happened again. On both phones the BoomSound notification appeared due to an ad on the webpage. Must be some weird software glitch. I do have my phone connected to my Gear S3 via Bluetooth. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. At first I was worried that there was a hardware issue. It definitely sounded like the squeal noise you described here. Almost sounded like an electrical interference.
Ive had this noise for sure, in my car on bluetooth with music player. Not sure how to duplicate, but definatley annoying.

Yes, I get it with my Jaybird X headphones at the gym too. I think you're right that it has something to do with the WiFi bands. I never have any problem in the car.

Sounds like most of you have gotten it when using a BT headset. Both times it happened to me I was merely browsing the web using Chrome and I was connected to my Gear S3 via Bluetooth. I wasn't even streaming anything, and I heard the squeal noise through the phone's speakers. Weird but luckily it seems to be a very rare occurrence.
I've a similar problem but with Wi-Fi in 5 ghz band while making a call. If I'm in a call and at same time the phone is sending or receiving data through a 5 ghz Wi-Fi I can hear a noise or squeal. If I make a call in Skype or WhatsApp using 5 ghz Wi-Fi the squeal is more notorious. It's like 5 ghz antenna is not correctly isolated from upper speaker. If I'm in 2,4 ghz Wi-Fi or not using Wi-Fi at all the sound is okay and no squeal. I can always reproduce this annoyance.
I have HTC phones since One X and never had one without some sort of signal isolation problem. HTC 10 was the worst at this matter as touching upper frames dropped 4g signal and interrupted bluetooth.
I just had this same problem. I remember someone mentioning this on the viper rom forums so I went back to find the post which was by @mhajii210 and linked this thread. I have no desire to trouble shoot the problem since by tomorrow this phone will be in the mail heading back to HTC but figured I'd post what I have to offer.
I did NOT have bluetooth turned on (not at all since last reboot) I was using wifi - most likely connected to 5g but not certain. I was browsing chrome when it squelled for about 20 seconds. After it stopped all was fine. Then about 15 man later when a notification went off it did it again. I opened gallary, played a video, and did it again. Even when I recieved a phone call it did it. Everytime boomsound icon was present. Turning screen off it still continued. After a reboot, has been fine. The only thing I wish I had done was force close chrome.
I hope this info if useful.

Thank you for your post. Sorry to hear you're sending the phone back. I strongly believe it is a Google Chrome bug. I've been using the Samsung Internet Browser Beta and so far it hasn't happened. It's still too early and I have to continue testing the phone since it didn't happen very often.

Is there any solution to bluetooth + wifi problem? I just got myself a sony wh1000xm2 and it is impossible to watch youtube video or listen music from spotify without interruption. But as soon as I either turn off the bluetooth or my headset, it becomes all good. I am using us unlocked phone and I am on Oreo
Hi - any fix in this? I get the squeal using mpow Bluetooth earbuds, but don't use Wi-Fi. I can live with that noise, but, unrelated to bt headphones, all of a sudden the bottom speaker on my U11 sounds like an air compressor going off whenever the boomsound icon pops up (while browsing) and notifications, alarms etc. I've rebooted and messed around with sounds but no go - anyone else have this issue??
