US 32gb Xoom WiFi, was HC3.0.1 at purchase, I've since rooted it, installed CWM 4.0.0.4, and flashed Tiamat Manta Ray 2.0.0->2.0.1 (from internal storage...I know it is not recommended or supported).
No issues while flashing the ROMs: the messages during installation are appropriate, ending with 'Welcome to the Party!' I don't notice any specific changes to be sure that it worked, but I assume I am now running Manta Ray.
I bought the Motorola Camera Connection Kit today to connect my extHD, and assumed it wound mount to /mnt/usbOTG, but it doesn't. In fact, there is no /mnt/usbOTG folder, and I can't create one.
I downloaded USB Mass Storage Watcher OTG and I can manually mount the extHD to /mnt/external1 and use it normally.
My questions are:
1) Is there a way to confirm which ROM I am running?
2) Why didn't Manta Ray create the usbOTG folder?
3) Why isn't my extHD (or thumbdrive) automatically mounted?
Thanks in advance!

1) Go to settings--about--and check to see if you see.....Tiamat_Katana......2.0......if you don't see something like that you are still on stock.
2) There should be, in your internal sdcard directory, a directory called mnt and in that you should have at the least, external1 and usbOTG..
3) Most of us need that utility to help mount drives.
Well that was easy- it seems I am still stock, despite the install seeming to take.
I suppose I'll need to try it from a real SD card before asking for more help...unless someone out there has any ideas why it might not have worked from internal storage.
I have root: I have SuperUser in apps, have ClockworkMod Recovery. Must be the SD card vs internal storage issue.

Yes, do yourself a favor and install the Tiamat 3.2.0.0. R4c recovery and use that with your external sd card. There's just no way around it.
I upgraded to stock 4.0.3 posted by stachre and its running fine. Only issue is that I can't browse to my SD card though my normal file browsers. I have tried ES file manager and root explorer. The SD card shows up fine when i plug my Xoom into my PC and also is recognized by CW Recovery console. So it seems like hardware wise everything is fine, but the OS just doesn't have it mounted to the file system for some reason.
I am pretty sure it was working right after upgraded to ICS so I'm not sure what could have happened. Can someone confirm if/where the SD card should be mounted in case i am just going insane? Also if there anything I can do short of reflashing the image?
how is the card formatted?
The card is mounted in the small slot within the same opening where a sim would go...on the top, toward the screen and to the left if looking at the front side of the Xoom. It should be able to slide in and click into place. Click it out and then back in to make sure it's seated properly. In the EOS ICS the micro sdcard will be at media/sdcard. In Honeycomb it was at mnt/external1. You may not be looking in the right place.
The card is definately seated correctly, i just used it to change over to EOS 1.0.0 image and CW had no issue seeing it. But stll no access to the SD card within the main OS. There is nothing in my media folder except an "audio" folder.
I recently flashed CM 10 Official Alpha on my AT&T Skyrocket and I've experienced an issue with my SD card. Basically it shows us as my internal storage. Whenever I hook it up to my PC via USB (Windows 7) my internal storage pops up and another disk that I can't access (grayed out). The files I have on my SD card show up whenever I enter recovery mod (Currently on Touch Recovery) but I can't access it through my PC or any other way. I've tried file browsing applications from the market to see if the SD card shows up, but no luck. I also read the change log on their website to see if there was any issues with an SD card and I came up with nothing. I followed every step exactly as posted in the topic when flashing. Is there any way to get my SD card to show up?
Thanks in advanced.
I second this. What I've been doing is copying things onto the internalSD, then using a file manager to get it on external.
Painful, yes, but, I don't think it's ready yet.

That seemed to have worked. Thank you very much!
If you are like me and bought the 16GB version of our beloved SG3, thinking you could always move apps to the external sd card, then this mod is for you. It swaps the internal and external sd cards so apps install on your external card, because your phone is fooled into thinking the external card is the internal card.
I suggest that if you are going to do this, you should probably do it right after installing a new ROM, and before you install any apps. That way everything will get installed onto the external SD card.
I didn't invent this, Zedomax adapted in from mattiadj. But most people haven't been able to get it fully working, probably due to variations in the init.d function of various ROMS. They'd be able to see the External SD card as the internal SD, but the internal SD would disappear. This method avoids using init.d, and instead uses the app Script Manager to load the script on boot.
After much fooling around, I figured out how to do it so the External SD card and the internal cards are swapped, but you can see both with any file Explorer. I got it working on CleanROM 2.0, but it should work on Beans 10 as well.
Here's how to do it: Warning, if you do not understand the following instructions, or don’t have experience doing these things, you probably don’t want to do this hack. I am not responsible if you a) brick your phone, b) delete your data, or c) get very frustrated. That being said, the most likely failure will be that you only see the one card (the External card).
Back everything up that you care about first!!!!
1. First, I'd recommend making a Nandroid backup of your phone.
2. Next, just to be extra safe, I would backup your internal SD card to your PC. While you are doing that, if you have data on the external SD card, back that up too.
3. Next, I would format your external SD card to fat 32. (You could probably use Ext format too, but I didn’t test that.)If you already have it in that format, and have content on it, this won't affect the content, but back it up just to be safe. It’s probably better to have the Ext SD blank to begin with, you can always copy back its content from your pc.
4. Next copy the contents of the internal SD to the External SD card. This is to avoid confusion about apps and such.
5. Next install script manager free from the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...anager&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
It will show up on your phone as S manager ads.
6. Download the mod from here: http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/...ternalsd_gs3_fat32orextfat_US_ZEDOMAXv0.2.zip
7. You’ll see a folder called: 11extsd2internalsd_gs3_fat32orextfat_US_ZEDOMAXv0.2.zip
You need to unzip the folder, then go to System/etc/init.d and copy the 11extsd2internalsd file from there to your phone. Put it into the /data directory. Use Root Explorer, and your phone will need to be rooted.
(https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6305/SD Card Hack SG3/11ext file in data directory.png)
Or you can get just the 11extsd2internalsd file here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6305/SD Card Hack SG3/11extsd2internalsd
8. Using Root Explorer, navigate to that file in the /data directory. Press and hold the file name until the menu pops up, and click on permissions.

(Unix geeks set them to 777, and everyone else copy the picture below. Click OK.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6305/SD Card Hack SG3/Permission settings 777.png
9. Open the script manager app, and select Browse as Root in the config screen. Tell it to remember this setting.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6305/SD Card Hack SG3/Script manager browse as root and save.png
10. Navigate to the /data directory and choose the 11extsd2internalsd file that is located in /data and click on it. Click on the “Is script” button.
11. Now tap on the buttons that say Su, Boot, and Save. The file name will come up in yellow after the save.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6305/SD Card Hack SG3/Script manager setting after save.png
12. Reboot your phone and you should see the swap working and be able to access both internal and external SD cards. The external card will show up as sdcard, and the internal card will show up as extSDCard. Your apps should now install to the external card, since your phone will think it's the internal card. Is that confusing? It was to me too!
Good luck and please share your experiences specifying which ROM you used, so that others can avoid frustration.
Thank you’s always appreciated.
Wonder if this works on asop roms as well.
Please excuse my Galaxy S III, it's a bit Paranoid.
On my X2, this same mod was done via a flashable zip...not sure how it worked, but it was worked perfectly. At some point the roms incorporated the flip flop as part of the Rom. I like the feature because I wouldnt need to move certain app data to my external sd card. Also, I wouldn't have to show tibu where to look for my backups.

What's the consensus on this? Can this mod as posted above be applied to AOSP/CM9/CM10?
Just flashed this on aokp and both sdcard and external_sd are my physical sd card. The internal card is not showing.
Op, can we get an cm10 ver?
Did a little playing around. Below seems to work on cm10 aokp. Can op confirm this is good?
mount -t vfat -o umask=0000 /dev/block/vold/179:97 /storage/sdcard0
mount -o bind /data/media /storage/sdcard1

Are you actually flashing it, or using the Script Manager? As far as I know, only the Script Manager approach works.

Not sure, but take a look at the code from 11ext2internalsd file. If it works, and you can see both sd cards, then you've nailed it.
Yeah sorry, im running the script apk. It seems to work. I just dont understand the exacts of the vold/179:97 or if it should be vold/197:96?
When i go into settings/storage, should my physical sdcard stats be showing under internal memory?
Thanks I got mines to work now. Thanks to your suggestions.

Update: ive been using the script below for a littlw while and it is working great on cm10. It is best to enable it after a fresh rom install.
mount -t vfat -o umask=0000 /dev/block/vold/179:97 /storage/sdcard0
mount -o bind /data/media /storage/sdcard1
I need to do this.

Apps Did Not Move After Internal / External SD Swap for GS3
Well I thought everything went perfectly because as mentioned, when I go to storage my internal shows my 64g card and internal of 12g now shows as external. However the apps are still on my internal which is now called my external and when I go to app manager it shows remaining space 5.9g. So I am not sure what I did wrong because I have reviewed this several times and started right after I installed a fresh rom . I am hoping someone can help me correct this because basically all it did was change the name of the two drives but apps are still getting installed to original location. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me
Swapping internal>external did not work
i followed all steps as stated above but when I go to File Manager (default), long pressing Internal SD>Details show 1.2 MB and External SD shows 1.8 GB which is not true. I have external SD of 8 GB and internal is 2 GB in my micromax a110 phone.
The steps above did not work to swap the memory but it now shows even incorrect size. I installed Root Browser lite but got no way to chck the size of the SD cards.. Please help
Does this work with the new Verizon Jelly Bean which they are now sending out via OTA? Are there other Verizon S3 Jelly Bean Roms that are known to work with this method? Thanks
Its works on the leak so i dont see why it wouldnt work on the actual vz rom
not working
This is not working with my samsung s duos please help
Any cm 10.1 updates for this?
I am unable to change the file permissions to -rwx-rwx-rwx- whenever I try to change it I get an error that the phone is unable to change permissions.
EDIT:
Successfully changed permissions and followed the instructions as given. Still not working on the international S3, my internal memory is still 16 GB and external 32GB
Before I even explain my issue, I would like to clearly state that I have indeed used the search function here and used google and bing search engines to try and find a solution. It seems no one has came across this or I am not searching for the right thing.
Ok, now on to my issue at hand. I have done lots of flashing on multiple devices and so I know a fair amount when it comes to all that, but my issue is that on the Blaze It says on Samsung's website that it has 4gbs of internal storage. On my phone, I have tried gingerbread stock, Ice Cream Sandwhich on stock, and even used every Jelly Bean rom on the forums for this device. Regardless of the rom I use, stock or custom, my phone displays internal storage twice, which in any file manager shows one as the phone's internal storage, and one as the sd card/usb storage, but both have 1.4gbs of free space on a fresh install. They show up seperate, but should be the 4gbs of internal space. Another thing is if I have a micro sd in my phone it shows up in setting>storage, but if I try to use a file manager to locate it, regardless of which one I use, I cannot access my micro sd card or find it. The only place it shows up is in settings>storage, along with both seperate internal storages that have 1.4gbs of storage each. I am trying to figure out how to fix this issue so I can find a way to use my sd card for applications instead of my phone using usb storage as the sd card, which limits me to 1.4gbs of space,

Yeah the 4gb is like 3.72GiB which is split up with 1.4gb of user space (pictures, videos, etc), another 1.12 for apps (shared with titanium if you don't switch the backup folder location) and the rest for the system (rom, kernel, recovery etc). It does have 4gb.
In regards to your external sd card... which rom are you running? On most JB roms the external sd card path is found at /external_sd and NOT at the sdcard/external_sd that ALL the ICS roms use.
Yeah, I figured it was still the 4gbs, but being split like that is stupid. As far as what rom I am using or have used, I have used both the the gingerbread stock and ice cream sandwhich stock. I have used the official CM10 latest nightly build of Jelly Bean for this device, I have used Paranoid, Baked rom, Blaz3r, and now I am using the new Pacman Jelly bean Rom, but with the same issue. I will go to those locations where you stated and it shows nothing, even if i go back one and hold down on the screen and go to properties of that folder nothing is there. And the usb storage of 1.4 is located at this directory /sdcard. And where my micro sd card should be at which is /external_sd there is nothing nor does it display the gbs of space. The micro sd card is only viewable through settings. I have tried a 2gb, an 8gb, a 16gb and a 32gb micro sd. All work fine, on my pc and a Sidekick 4g I have, and even show up on the Blaze with no errors, but I can't use any file manager to access it. The only way i can access it is through the recovery, in which case it uses the directory /sdcard and then I have no access to the usb storage like I do in the roms.

On GB and ICS the location for your external SD card is /sdcard/external_sd. On jelly bean it's at /external_sd. You need a root file explorer to access it (root explorer/es file explorer) in jelly bean roms.

Yes, I know this, I have looked in those locations and I did have root when I used Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich stock. I currently have the Pacman rom, which is a CM!) variation/Jelly Bean rom. When I use Es File Explorer or Root explorer the directory /external_sd is empty and when I backup and hold down the screen on that folder and go to properties it doesn't show any storage information. It just says 0.0mb. I have tried every directory someone has mentioned or I thought was it, and I only have the usb storage showing up, and in manage applications when I click an application's details it will ask me to move to sd card and when I do that it moves from the phone storage of 1.4gb to the usb storage of 1.4gb.
To me it seems like the OS keeps thinking the usb storage is the only sd, and it displays my actual micro sd, but doesn't actually show it in root explorer or es explorer. I am trying my best to provide as much information as possible. I posted on here because I have spent a few nights trying everything I know and can Google search to solve this problem.

So at the top of the screen you only see the phone icon in ES file explorer? Or does it have the phone icon and /sdcard/? You need to go into the settings in ES file explorer and check the 'root explorer' and 'up to root' in root settings or you will not be able to access the external_sd through es file explorer in JB.
There is an "external_sd" folder located in the /sdcard in jelly bean... that's not where it really is. You need to make sure you are at root / and scroll down to /external_sd. The external_sd folder in /sdcard does show 0.0mb.
Yeah I already knew that you had to check 'root explorer' and 'up to root' in es explorer. I fixed the sd card issue by downloading and flashing the latest CWM recovery available for the device and formatted the sd card and internal storage, this fixed the issue. I also did a fresh install of the Pacman Jelly Bean rom and now it shows /sdcard and /external_sd and they are both properly displayed and I can explore them as I should be able to. I think the TWRP and that may have caused the problem, or when I had an older version of CWM Recovery, but after doing as I described above my issue was resolved and now the storage is displayed as it should. I tried this on the other recoveries and countless roms with no such results, so I guess a better and more up to date recovery fixed a formatting issue that was occurring.
I do thank you for all the help that has been provided, as its nice to know that the community for this device has devs and senior members of these forums willing to help people with their problems, whether they are complicated or simple.
FWIW I think twrp may have been what caused your issue. I remember someone was having other issues I believe with paranoid android settings not working and twrp was the cause. I have been on the original cwm by shabbypenguin since the beginning and have had no issues with any rom. Glad you got it figured out:thumbup:

I have the same phone and have 1.40GB internal storage but I did some research at Tmobile.com and got this http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_blaze_4g_t769-4420.php and it say there is 3GB and a 4GB Micro SD. I upgraded to a 16 GB Micro SD but had some problems with CM 10 being about to access my music and etc. but I got around that today YAY!. But with the OS and other partitions that are needed 1.40 should be about right after everything. Cheers mate
