This has to have been one of the most irritating default settings I have ever had on a phone, I went hunting and got rid of it as soon as I was able
I like the vibration. It tells me when I press a key, so if I accidentally press a key, I know straight away, because I can feel it
Also, if you'd rather turn off vibration of the soft keys:
Settings > Sound > Haptic Feedback (uncheck it)

changed the battery at a festival - no clean shutdown, to find the default touch input keyboard overlay no longer appears when selecting a text input area after powering back up- can touch every other button and link as normal- phone behaves fine otherwise- just no keypad overlay any more.
navigated to the market and have since installed a 3rd party keyboard and everything now works fine again, but how can i get the default original HTC/Android back? can I navigate to some config file and zero it somehow?
have tried toggling between input methods/ reboots etc- no joy- do not want to factory reset phone
oh

3 options..
1) HTC official Service Centre.. They will charge you for the Power button replacement.
2) Local Mobile Repairer can also replace the power button..
3) instead of power button you can use "swipe 2 wake" (Not preferable at all, but for short time you can bare)

if you have CM, settings > Display > Wake up with rocker volume keys .. or something like that
AW: lock/power button not working..HELP PLEASE
well, but if you use sweep2wake or the volume key, you can't switch your sensation on if it is off? So you have to repare it anyway, or do I see it wrong?

thanks for the reply.. Htc service centre is too far, will go later ..
I couldn't find any swipe 2 wake software in play store
But i found out "Auto screen on" where the light turns on using sensors .. this is working as a temporary fix

Swipe2wake is not an application, It's kernel related feature that will comes with Kernel by default...
Faux, Bricked, PYD-X supports this feature..

hey guys,
I wanted to find out if anyone else is having this issue - when i go into the phone app, and press the keypad button on the bottom. the onscreen keypad doesnt show up - i have to press back and then press keypad button a 2nd time for it to show. But once i do this - it works fine if i go back into it at a later time. I have attached a pic of what the phone looks like when i press the keypad for the first time.

Not sure if this only happens when you restart or load the phone app for the first time.
Any ideas or input will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

I had this problem also when I was using Cyanogenmod. To solve this problem, try to disable Developer Mode as test.
I think the problem is caused by Scale Animation option when it is set by 0.
Hi mate thank you for your help. I switched all animation scale to .5 and turned off developers options. This seems to have fixed it

Good to hear it. :laugh::good:
Hello,
I am using Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Duos (SM-G355) I have vibration when i click the menu button on home screen and when i type in keyboard or reorganise icons. But the phone does not let me change haptic feedback in the softkeys (back, home, recent) I searched for this everywhere and many peoples say it is available under Settings > Sound > Vibrate on touch or under Language and input > Haptic feedback.
But I have no such option like haptic feedback or vibrate on touch in anywhere in settings and neither I have my power saving mode on.
You cannot say me that Android with 4.3+ have removed this feature. No, my father have the same android version (4.4.2 - KitKat) He have this vibrate on touch under settings > sound. My phone is rooted with Kingroot and I am using Clockwork Recovery Mod.
Thanks,
Pr0Ankit
Cmon No one here to help me ?
