No more 3.2??? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got my transformer from amazon.de with DE 3.1 on it. After I logged into my wifi I got an update message. I chose to install and got DE 3.2 ROM.
After some playing around with different custom ROMs I wanted to undo my changes and "re-stockify" my tab. Installation of the original stock DE 3.1 ROM from ASUS' website went fine and I got my tab like it was before.
But now as I try to update to 3.2 manually via settings menu I get the message I already had the latest software version... :-(
Tried the same with ASUS' stock US and WW ROM. Always the same, no update! Frustrating!
Any suggestions??? Please!!!

There is a 3.2 stock rom thread in the developer section, that might help you.

Thx but this won't solve my problem. ROM seems not to be stock or not verified by ASUS otherwise it would upgrade. Wouldn't it?
I just want a way to COMPLETELY bring my tab back to the state it was when I got it...
Any more ideas guys?
Maybe the versions from ASUS' website simply get their update later than the ones with their shipped firmware installed!?!? *confused*

When going back to stock 3.1 is your recovery back to stock also?

once you get and download the update, your serial number is flagged as having the update already. You won't get it once again. happened to me when i wanted to revert back...

UK 3.1 update help

ive searched loads of threads for this answer but evrything is all over the place and a bit confusing so im just looking for a simple solution, can i get the uk update at all, i updated to the us leak and would like to have the uk update now since its available but dont know how to get it, i am unrooted
thanks in advance
I think you might have to wait until its released on the uk asus page to manually flash it, I could be wrong though!
ah thats cool then mate, i will wait until i can grab it, thanks for your help
or you can
- get the uk V8.2.3.13 rom from asus support
- extract the zip, rename the extracted zip file to EP101_SDUPDATE.ZIP to root of external sd card
- then power off
- vol down+power on
- vol up to start flashing the uk V8.2.3.13 rom
now you back in blighty the notification should be available to update to 3.1 honeycomb. that's how i did it.
This maybe the only option avaialbe, because I think that official method as described on asus support will only allow update with same geography. (empahsis on 'I think')
good luck!
Nice one mate will give that a try

tried that but its just coming up the android man holding an exlamation mark
sorry, I not at home now, so don't have the names of the files from asus support site to compare for you.
I think I remember the official extracted file was had a '.zip.zip' ending. make sure to it's just .zip - use a file manager on the tablet
This is the same procedure as I used to get onto the leaked us rom onto my uk tab. Expecting we are now dowgrading to official UK 3.0 from asus support
the original and possibly clearer instruction are here: http://forum.androidcentral.com/asus-eeepad-transformer/88744-transformer-3-1-update-here.html
Its the same way I got the leaked one on too but can't seem to get it to work on for this

checkout this thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102209
where others had luck downgrading. Also Specifically post #16, the guy mentions possibly there are zips within zips... which may help you.
thanks mate, tried all that but its still giving me the same android guy with exclamation mark, will just have to keep the us opne for the time being i think
just checking, is the ww version uk or is there a uk version, i cant see a uk one so i got the ww, migth be me been a complete idiot lol
got it working, i was being stupid and renaming it to EP101_SDUPDATE.ZIP instead of just renaming the zipto EP101_SDUPDATE.
thanks for all your help, this forum rocks !
Lolz, glad u got sorted!

lol i wish i never, now i keep getting a force close error
I did the same thing - downgraded as described above from the leaked US 3.1 rom to the 3.01 WW rom from the Asus website. After that I did a factory reset to get it clean. No force closes aftdr that.
I now am back on 3.01 WW build but when I check for a system update I am told there is not one available. Do Asus stagger the updates? I have seen other posts saying they can't see an update.

no. I downgraded on monday, in anticipation of getting the update on tues/weds. I only acutally upgraded this morning when i clocked the 'tracker' thread that some uk peeps were getting theirs via manual check.
are you really back to 3.0?... check interweb settings is alright?... remove any roms on int/ext sd cards?.... did the manual check?... not sure what else to try really....
I justice twenty back to the us one will just leave it at that for now

I got a replacement TF today as the screen on the last one refused to turn on after leaving it off for a while. Completely dead even though the alarm kept going off at 5am(annoying).
Anywho I got the replacement and I have had no notifications about an update. I have just manually updated it to the .13 one and still nothing OTA.
I'm in the UK too. Hope they upload it to their severs soon so I can just do it by sd card again.

[Q] Confused...helpp!!

I bought a new nexus s yesterday. It is currently working on android 2.3.3
there's no notification for any updates yet. and the system updates show that the software is "up to date". What should i do?? Is something wrong with the phone if it isn't showing any notifications for updates?? kindly respond soon =)
Try turning on wi-fi and manually checkin by dialing *#*#2432546#*#*

The update is paused till they fix problems

But 2.3.3 isn't the latest update. Shouldn't the phone be giving me notifications to update to the latest available version? like 2.3.6 maybe?
Simply root your phone and choose any rom you like. No need to wait for an update.
I bought my phone 26the December, I kept checking for update never got one then I read post it will only update to latest one since they have stopped it temporary u will either have to root/ do it manually or just wait
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
The update strategy of google is really confusing :
No dates, no indication, no explanations why they stopped OTA. The most surprising thing to me is : why stopping 2.3.6 OTA while the problem is about the 4.0.3 version?
Its for a couple of days m8 most people would be hacked of if they had to update there fine every to minutes
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
easiest solution, and you dont have to wait on anybody.. update manually. there are links to all the android versions, available to the nexus s, posted here in xda. and you dont need root to update an official stock rom with an official stock rom.

Updating manually will solve your problem. Just make sure that the model of is same as your Nexus S since there's 3 types of Nexus S and they all use different radio...

You mean, i doswnload official OTA ICS and flash via recovery, no need to unlock a bootloader?
Sent from my GT-I5800
No need to unlock bootloader if you're flashing stock ROM
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
If you want to go stock(no root, no unlocked bootloader, no custom recovery) wouldn't recommend updating to ICS OTA, since there is that battery drain bug, that has yet to be fixed.
Also downgrading back to GB is quite tricky, if not imposible without unlocking the phone.
there's no bug, they just paused it, you can download it from here and just rename it and flash through the stock recovery!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063664
But why to flash if there is a battery bug for most of people. You got to be lucky.
Sent from my GT-I5800
I have two 9020t updated to 4.0.3 and both are battery bug-free. I had the official update OTA on one and manual update in the other ( missed the OTA because I was tinkering with the first one). I jumped from 2.3.3 to 4.0.3 when I got the OTA
I haven't had a problem

There's a bit more battery consumption, but nothing to worry about...

[Q] [TF101] Is there a way to get back to US stock?

HI - looked in the forums but have not seen anything obvious.
I am on Revolution HD but looking for a way to get back to stock - which in Canada is the US firmware (not the WW). I currently have the WW firmware with some build.prop hacks to make it thinks its US (not perfect but more apps are available in the app store).
Apologies if this is buried in the forms, but if someone could point me in the direction of re-loading the US based firmware in a how-to it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

You can look in to here or here (if you can use nvflash)
No unfortunately - don't have the right SBK version

You might see if recover installer has a "stock" option. Or now that CWM recognizes the TF see if it will allow you to reflash to stock.

Yes. Use the first one gls9 mentioned. I used that method a few weeks ago and it worked flawlessly, I'm stock and rooted with OTA rootkeeper.
Sweet Shady - so you followed that and are back to the US firmware (not WW - I thought Canada was on WW but went into Staples on the weekend and checked out one of the display TFs LOL .)
Shady - so did you download the US. 21 from the ASUS site when you were doing This?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
I think you can flash all the parts through the staging partition. You'll have to get a US stock rom, pull it apart and repack the parts that you need to replace- probably the EBT/bootlaoder, SOS/recovery, and LNX/boot.img.
Google and search... it's out there.

Use this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154947 I got everything from there.
Also use this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427838 to root the stock ROM then go to the market and download OTA rootkeeper (it's free!) to make a backup of your root. You can then upgrade to ICS, if it ever comes, without a problem.

Awesome - thanks. I noticed in that first thread there's a link at the end to a different re-packed file - so may use that.
What ROM were you coming from Shady?
Be nice to get back to stock - a little uneasy with the TF101 though myself - don't know it was as my T959D phone )

I was coming from KRAKD. Pretty good ROM I must say. I recently flashed CWM again to install a custom Kernel and now my Transformer flies (with the addition of ADW Launcher Pro)
using the Samsung SAMSUNG Kies I was able to go from ICS back to the OEM ROM. This software detected that I had a different version, and asked if I wanted to install the latest Samsung version. So of course I did. I tried again later after testing another ICS and I tried to do the same, and it did not give me that option. I think I could still of did it suing the emergency recover option in Kies, but you have to get a number from Tech support first I think.
Don't think that will work for an Asus product

Anyone In Florida Get The OTA Yet?

i'm wearing out my check now button on the firmware update page. anyone else in florida still waiting for the OTA? anywhere else in the country still waiting? if you got it where are you located?
its not a matter of location, if you have a stock -us tf300t it will update.
if you have a -ww or other stock rom or a non stock rom or a non stock recovery it wont update OTA.

this is a completely stock unrooted tablet bought from Best Buy in Ft Myers Florida. when i click check now it says there is no update available now
under model number it only says ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T
build number IML74K.US_epad_9.4.3.17-20120308
I am in the same situation no update available. I'm rooted but no custom recovery and US version.
I had the update come across this morning and then after a voodoo root keeper update and a restart it is no longer showing as available! Weird! Michigan, not Florida. US.9.4.3.30

:crying: :crying: :crying:
so still no OTA for me. is there something i need to check to make sure there isn't a failed install sitting in my system somewhere?
yay me! finally got the update!

Asus TF300T update issue

Hi purchased this device in Dec 2012 for the wife.. Since we had it, she has only used it twice and it has not been used since March of this yr.. Well today I decide to use it my self. First I go and see if there is any kind of firmware/software update.. Well after checking all I get is something like Internet connection error, or service is busy, please try in a few moments.. Now this has been going on all day.. I did a factory reset, even though there was nothing installed since we bought it.. Has anyone run into this type of issue, when you first purchased it? It has Android 4.1.1 installed. Next what rom do you guys like the most? I might try and set one up like I have on our phones. Thanks.
There seems to be a problem wit Asus as I get the same pn both my TF300TG tabs. Also another thread from somebody with Asus M301 with the same problem.

cm10.1 is the most reliable imho, yet you might need to update to 4.2 first since there is a bootloader update and 10.1 seems to need that now.
you can upate by downloading the update from the asus site and flash it either via fastboot or i think as an update.zip through the bootloader.
i run cm10.1 on all my devices. makes migrating settings via titaniumbackup a breeeze so that all are idwntical within minutes.
cheers
