[Q] CoPilot on HTC ChaCha - HTC ChaCha

Hi,
I want to have CoPilot on my HTC ChaCha. However, I am unable to type the numbers needed for the verification code. Whenever I press FN and then press a number, the character appears, instead of the numbers.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

i have this issue with other apps as well. any help would be appreciated.

I had a little think, and perhaps an on-screen keyboard will be the solution. Does anyone know how to do that?

sorry if this is obvious, are you *holding* fn and pushing number at same time?

sorry i can`t help with your initial problem. just to say that copilot live8 works fantastic on the cha cha. so far i've used it in spain where i live, denmark, where i was working a few weeks ago and in norway, where i'm working now. haven't had any issues so far.

Pressing fn and then a number does not work with the copilot verification code. Or at least not with my phone/copilot version

Try to type each number with alt key, for example, alt+number then again alt+number and so on, dont lock the alt key. It works for me on skype and kakaotalk
Sent from my HTC Status using XDA App

yeah, me too

Finally succeed to install copilot with the chacha keyboard :
don't use it "landscape" but "portrait" oriented, then use the fn button each time you need a digit (no hold fn)...
ash

Thanks for your answer. After all this time i finally installed copilot. Is a big help. Thanks

E650 phone

hi friends of the net,
help pleeeease.
when i go into go into calendar i get numbers come up and not letters when the key pad is closed, if i open phone to type on key padi can get the letters, if any numbers have been entered already the numbers do not delete and i have to press the home key and then go back to it again before it lets me write anything, this also happens in internet explorer! after this has happened if i try to access contacts via home page or via menus it does not let me access them.
also my i bar/cursor vanishis sometimes when i am in text messaging.
tried factory reset and it still happens, also had a new phome sent out and the new one does the same!!!! assume its software fault on many phones.
Can you vox owners try these out...
This is regarding my friends phone, member - Wezog. Ive taken a look at the phone and im just wondering if any of you guys out there have these problems?
1 - Make sure your phone is closed (qwerty keyboard is hidden away), using the right soft key or by going into the start menu select the calendar application.
Once in here start typing an appointment, do you find that you have numbers appearing instead of letters?
Its as tho you cannot type any appointments using the keypad, but you have to open up the e650 and use the qwerty keyboard to enter information.
Do you HTC owners get the same problem or is it just the Orange e650 owners, or is it just my friend being unlucky? (being his 2nd phone to do exactly the same thing - hes let orange know about this but apparently has to decide what he wants to do)
2 - Once youve tried the Calendar above, exit out of it and then try and select CONTACTS as tho you were going to call someone either by using the left soft key or by actually going into Contacts in the start menu.
Do you find that Contacts dont display and nothing comes up? My mate has to then soft reset his phone to get things back to normal again.
Thanks in advance for your help, its very appreciated.
Cheers
Could someone try the steps below and post here...please
Would appreciate you guys following the steps below and letting me know if you get the problem, or not. Cheers.

Frankly - actions like creating an appointment is why I chose a phone with a QWERTY keyboard after all
But for the sake of your test I tried to create an appointment on my closed Vox and it worked.
Pressing a pad key repeatedly scrolls through its lowercase letters + the number, starting with the first letter. The *-key switches between lowercase and uppercase.
Contacts open and work normally after closing the Calendar.
I have an unbranded HTC S710 with the original ROM.
The behaviour you describe is definitely weird. And it happens also after a "Clear Storage" / Hard Reset ?

how do i disable T9 via registry hack

hi,
can anyone tell me how to disable T9 perminently via a reg hack? i am using wm6 and i have done the alt-space bar command, but sometimes at power up the t9 mode restarts and does not allow me to enter numbers so i cannot unlock my device and end up hard resetting it. i think this will be easier then bypassing the device lock password.
thanks
If you want to enter numbers, you should be able to just hold down the button that has the number. For example, to enter a "2" press and hold "E".

there isn't one as far as i know.
on the S621, you just press the FN key and SPACE bar key together and you can choose your default input.

i take it you didnt actually read the very first post in this thread.......thanks for trying but reading the question usually leads to a better result, lol
Strange... mine stays off with alt-space until I turn it back on -- through multiple reboots, even after one of those endless-rebooting sessions...
my problem is random. it will work fine for a couple of reboots, then lock up, or sometimes it will not get past the first reboot. very frustrating as i am on the road all day i rely heavily on my smartphone. looks like i will be waiting for a rom upgrade
I Have a S620 Italian..
How to activate T9 or similiar?
Thanks
to turn t9 off on an S620 wm6
in
\HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\ME

You can use CeRegEdit to edit your registry from your computer
still waiting for a way to completely disable T9
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\IME
CarrierDefaultTextMode=dword:0
(0 for ABC / 1 for XT9)

FN key on bluetooth keyboard

Hi,
I recently bought a mini bluetooth keyboard for use with my Asus A696 (WM 6.0).
It works very well and I'm very happy with it; although there is a problem: the "FN" key on my keyboard does not seem to be recognized by WM. This is a problem as I need to press FN and another key together to get a question mark and some other important things. If I now press FN and the desired key together, it acts like I didn't press the FN key.
Can someone help me solve this?
Thanks in advance!
I still did not find any solution. Is here really noone who can help me?

i think we need drivers for keyboard...

End call key locks the screen - Using custom ROM - CM9

Hi,
I just flashed CM9 ROM on my HTC Chacha. It works flawlessly and its very smooth!!! Thanks Alex C for the wonderful work!
I am facing only one problem. Somehow the "End call" is not behaving correctly. When I am in a particular app and want to close it, I press the end call key ; but it does not close the application, it instead locks the screen.
I checked all posts but I think no one else has faced this issue yet. I tried to scan through the keypad.klm and keypad.kl files (as mentioned in original post of CM9) but I am not able to understand how to change this mapping. I used key event logger and found that keycode for "End call" is 6. But in none of the keypad files, keycode 6 is mapped to end call. I am very confused now
The CID for my phone is - htc_038 and it's S-ON.
Please help. Thanks in advance.
In spare parts change the End Button behavior to Go to Home. If You cannot find the spare parts install spare parts + from market. And before Alex gets pi**ed it is not his rom, lol. It is adlx.xda's.
Regards
Problem solved!!
