Is anyone having 4G issues?

Im in NYC area and have been stuck on 3G for two days now. Im not sure if has anything to do with the ROM I have installed or if it is network related.

Im in Northern NJ, running the same thing as you and I've been on 3G for days now. I even reflashed the radio this morning.
I can't get 4G at all in Houston right now. I only noticed it being unavailable today. (thought it was the mr2 radio I flashed but maybe not since others have problem too).
I've been having 4g issues since this morning. ZIP = 90024 (west LA)
3g works fine though.

been having 4G issues on and off for almost 2 weeks now in LA. phone gets stuck in 4G upload (upload arrow is constantly lit and no internet), even doing the airplane/wifi trick and reboots doesn't fix it, and drains the battery like hell.
Running Eaton Rom v1.5.1, MR2 radio.

i just took the sim card into the store. i told them i left my phone in my car because the battery is dead and it is charging. the guy kept insisting that i bring it in so he can make sure everything was working okay and i said, no its okay i know what i am doing and rather do it myself thank you. he swapped out the SIM.
Same here and now web videos are not loading either.

My battery has been dying so fast that I've switched over to 3G unless I need to download something quick or tether.
Same with my employee that's on my account, we're both constantly charging our phones if we leave it on 4G auto in the radio settings.

Funny though. I think, for some reason, the MR2 radio has to do with the 3G draining so quickly. I had the same issue while on 3G.

The stock radio dies in 3-5 hours on 4g, for me. Using CM7 with stock kernel I get incredible life with 3g, but 4g just eats it.

[Q] No data after new rom install....maybe.

My buddy just rooted and flashed the Eaglesblood ICS 4.0.4 rom and noticed that he no longer shows 3 or 4 g just "E", and basically it goes nowhere unless on wifi. Did he just mess up an APN setting somewhere or could there be a wrong "radio" issue here??
Baseband-ril issue i guess. I use lg o2x though.
no speed
I have EB ICS 4.0.4 and I'm on simple mobile. I get the H by my signal bar but my speeds are worth nothing. I get about 120kbps down and 150kbps up. Maybe its baseband issue. I'm running m6600a-scautnz-2.0.972t 1 jul15 201 10:00:00 mp. Anyone has an idea if it will help updating it?
Thanks in advance.

No, updating will not help.
Well... actually, it might. But you'd lose being able to call(hearing/talking)
Update.
Buddy went to major city near by , got good data speeds, only shows 2g or 3g. but gets nothing near home town. Got at least 2g at home before now nothing...radio???
BTW Im new to this, what is baseband? ril?
Slow 3g
So it's not the phone but the carrier problem then? On the other hand I'm a truck driver and have tried the speed test in three different cities now. Still it's about the same.

Loosing cellular network

Running AOKP build 39 for over a month.
Last few days the cellular network is lost and only re-boot restores it.
Airplane mode does not help.
Any idea what is causing it ?

Why would cellphone towers cause my device to require re-boot ?
It was a joke.
Weak cellular signal is a pretty common issue with the Nexus S though.
Maybe it's your radio/kernel/rom combination! Once I was using NexusBeam 4.1/Matr1x/I9020AUKE1. I'd lose signal for no reason after a while, and only a reboot would bring it back. I then flashed the latest radio, and everything was working!

Guess I could play with different radio and see what happens. Or wait for Milestone 6 and see how it behaves after that.

Its definetly not a kernel or rom issue, that kernel/rom combo is one of the most stable that exists on our boards. Could it just be that Tmo has crappy reception where you live/work?

Would not surprise me in the least. I have been in a 1 year fight w/ Tmo concerning the piss-poor coverage in my area that happened after an "upgrade" to 3.5g
It states that I should have "good" HDSPA coverage. Apparently "good" equals "Only at 2 am in the morning, once a week- and only 1 bar"
For 2g, I get random dropping- and FYI: Tmo will *NOT* believe it's a tower issue, even if you pull the antenna logs
/Stock MT4g, 2.3.4- haven't had a good enough connection to download and root my phone.

Complain to the BBB. I wouldn't be suprised if it was TMO's fault
I had the same problem where I'd randomly lose signal and a member on here said it could be the phone thats the problem. Its supposedly a common issue with the HTC Panache, the Canadian MT4G.

Problems getting 4G LTE on Sprint Network

Hi,
I got my Nexus 5 from a 3rd party Sprint Dealer, known as Wirefly.com -- Is anyone having problems accessing 4G LTE from Sprint? I am in the 100% best coverage zones according to Sprint.
I have done heaps of troubleshooting steps with Sprint, to no avail. They are blaming it on a faulty phone.
Anyone else having this issue?
Its been happening since I received the phone on Dec 4th.
Thank you
Are you rooted? What radios are you on?

Sprint here too, but no issues. Do you have a SIM card installed? It is required to access LTE on sprint.

Are you on 4.4.2? Cuz im on sprint and i had to roll back to the 4.4 radios. The 4.4.1 radios were horrible. I too got my phone from wirefly. You have a 14 day guarantee with them

Yeah, I am on 4.4.2.
Wirefly is currently out of stock, otherwise they said they would replace it. I am going to keep checking back with them everyday to get a new one. Any suggestions in the mean time? Sprint tech support has been hit or miss. I have been told that there is tower problems from Baltimore to Southern Virginia, then another tech support agent tells me no problems at all!
I do not know what to believe anymore or what to do!
Well i know i got perfect lte the first two weeks i had my phone, then almost three weeks without it, then now its back. I know its a sprint thing. Are you getting lte anywhere at all?

First, thank you for your replies. I am not too up to date with rooting and such, so I apologize for that in advance.
The most I can get is LTE with 1 bar. That has been when I am driving around.
I can see the tower from my Condo, and according to their coverage maps, I should be getting "LTE Best" at home and work.
Thank you again.

I switched from TMobile to Sprint (in-contract, so I had to pay to get out of TMobile) with the hopes of Sprint being better, but as of now, I have not seen that at all!
Im pretty sure it will get better when sprint rolls out spark (officially), and Google updates the radio again

Well I have every intention of still getting a new phone from Wirefly.
It was odd, did Wirefly send you the phone with the SIM (or whatever they call it ICCA?? card) inside of it already?
Any ETA on the rollout of that?
Yes the sim is already in your phone. And i don't blame you for wanting a new phone, best to rule out a bad phone

Thank you for your help! It is much appreciated!
If you are on 4.4.2 then you need to root and flash a different modem or wait for google to send out an update.
Since you are getting lte but with a weak signal this is most likely the problem of course coverage maps are very vague and it may be that you are just too far from the tower.

I can literally see the tower from my balcony at my condo.
Leary of doing anything to the phone because I am going to get a new one from Wirefly when they have them in stock.

Yeah, I am only able to get 3G with 2-3 bars at a time. Like I said, if I drive around, I will barely get LTE, maybe 1 bar.
How good is the signal strength?
Anyone know of an ETA on when Google will push out a new update?

Pretty good. -91dBm from here in my bedroom. You can force lte via dialer codes such as "*#*#4636#*#*" but you will not be able to receive calls or texts.

Ahh.
They did heaps of dialer codes when I called tech support. I forget exactly which ones, but they made me do them several times.
Also, when going into Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Preferred Network Type > does anyone's else default to GLOBAL instead of LTE? I keep switching mine to LTE, but it shunts it back to Global randomly.... I can't figure out why...
