Just picked up an Infuse from Rogers...no MHL adapter. I thought it was supposed to come with one? Anybody?
If I'm understanding correctly, it's because the Rogers Infuse doesn't support hdmi.
Sent from my Infuse using my fingers.
I hope not! Thanks for the reply!

AT&T units come with an adapter and MHL support in the firmware.
Rogers units do not come with an MHL adapter, and all traces of MHL support are removed from the firmware.
That's why we still don't have MHL for Gingerbread (Even after re-enabling it in the kernel, userland part is still missing), and there's a good chance we won't until AT&T releases GB.

I have infused rom installed does that mean mhl does not have the firmware to function any longer?

If you mean Infused 2.x - yes - MHL will not work until you downgrade to a Froyo ROM (such as Infused 1.x) or AT&T releases Gingerbread and devs have time to integrate the update.
Yes infused 2.1.0, I really want to stream netflix mhl to sam hdtv. Hope gb debuts soon!

the problem is with the bluetooth stack, im not sur ehow but i know it can be downgraded to bt 2.1, that was an experimental feature in designgears cognition rom a long time ago, he went back and forth with it a couple times but said there were problems. that's not to say gtg or razor or h8trift or mikey couldnt figure it out but i dont see anyone showing interest in that on a samsung base rom. you might have to wait for the infuse to get an aosp rom, donate to a kernel dev like netarchy of razor who may have the ability to make an aosp compatable kernel for cm7.
I see OK is there anything than wiimote work with infuse?

many standard keyboards and mouse that are bt, there are game controllers that work but i dont have any experience with one to say yes get this one it is great. there are some old burried threads in the sgs phone sections, maybe if you do a search of xda you can find a model that someone has working.
I know Honeycomb can support usb devices such as keyboard and mice but what about older versions? Does Gingerbread support them? I couldn't find a real answer on this.

Are you using the AOSP launcher or touchwiz launcher?
HDMI-out only seems to work with the TW launcher.

Try using the TW launcher. I think it's got some special code in there or something that enables HDMI, as I only had HDMI activate when using it.
Is there a way to make this work? I've switched to mikfroyo so that the ROM is a 2.2, and i also tried the HDMwIn app from the market...I can get videos from the SD card and YouTube to work, but netflix won't work properly...sometimes the sound will come out, but no picture...
Does anybody know a fix to this? I searched netflix hdmi, but it only pulled up some other ROM threads...

Try cm7 with hdmwin. Maybe there are drm problems
Having trouble with AOSP? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295702
This is my wifes phone and she's not an aosp kinda gal, plus I think I tried cm7 on her phone a couple months back and something went wrong somewhere, can't really remember now...
Do you or anyone else have any other ideas? Could someone maybe send me their netflix.apk that is known to work with hdmi, maybe that could be the issue? Or maybe tell me how to fix whatever may be occuring, as long as I can do it over the phone, cuz my computer is a paperweight at the moment cuz of a cracked screen...

I am a noobie to things here, but i have been rooted for some time now and I do alot of reading to learn things from xda. I was also having this problem with both my wife and my EVO. Both are rooted and are running r3charged final. They both use golden monkey kernels. And the problem is in the kernel. So I did a lot of reading up on this, as i always do and found that chopsuye v.9.1.7 will allow you to use hdmi. I have tested it myself and its works the best. Hope this helped.

Could be a number of things really. My wife runs Synergy(Myn's) on 2.3 with the HDMwIn app and the recommended kernel and its perfect. When you first open the HDMwIn app it tells you to download some daemon add on, did you? When i tried without that it didnt work. Also, it recommends a custom kernel in the app t0o and even has a link. Thats the one i use and it works perfect. Keep in mind though that this is all on Android 2.3, maybe you should update.........
I actually had her on a 2.3 ROM and I downloaded the daemon and it did not work, but I didn't do the kernel because I noticed that the HDMwIn app said that it probly won't work on a 2.3, so that's why I switched to a 2.2, but i haven't done the kernel yet, that will be my next move, its just taking me a lil bit as her phone is not my priority...

Yea even though the app says its not compatible with 2.3 the kernel devs have added the proper tweaks to make it work right. this is the one i am referring to below...

I would suggest FEARMEde if you don't want the Bliss look. Hybrid is being updated tomorrow, FEARMEde has already been updated.
MikG is a close second.
Word of advice: mount "Data" in "Mounts" section of Amon Ra before flashing the kernel. Newer Sense ports are delicate with that for some reason. I always do it now.
Edit: Hybrid and FEARMEde are both updated now. And they are awesome.
I have a skyrocket running latest cm9 nightly and I just rent 21 jump street on Google play and bought the HDMI adapter cable.
I keep plugging it in I tried turning it off and on and everything but nothing is working
Please help

Are there drivers released from the 3.0 kernel source for the phone
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
I don't believe there is MHL hdmi support for CM9/AOKP yet or at least at the July 1st nightly. Stick with stock or sky ics.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727R running SKY-ICS 4.2F-6
For sure with skyics 4-F The hdmi works because i use it alot.
I am not sure about other roms.
Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket I727 with Sky ICS 4F-6 waiting for JellyBeans
This may be a stupid question, but I was dumb enough to not figure this out on my own at first.
Are you plugged in to a wall charger in addition to your tv and your device? The hdmi converter needs an external power source (your standard wall charger).
I couldn't figure out why mine wasn't working because I was being an idiot and didn't notice the micro usb port on the adapter that you use to plug it into the wall.
I'm on CM9 nightlies but I haven't tried hdmi out since flashing it, so I can't say if it's a rom issue, but I thought I'd throw this out there for you in case it was something which should be obvious (even though I'm a f-ing genius and this wasn't obvious to me at first lol).
Thanks guys. Going to skyics
Edit: it worked!

Does anyone have an update on this? I'm going to find out for sure here soon (adapter is in the mail)... but just thought i should check. Since the kernel has been released for the SR, and implemented into instigators new kernels... is mhl something we can foresee happening soon? I think i remember reading that that was where the problem was...
Im rocking AOKPnow, but change on an almost daily basis.. Would love to keep it AOSP tho...

I used to only use aosp based roms no matter what phone I had but sky Ics is actually awesome. I think you should give it a shot at least. because I don't see aosp roms fixing that issue any time soon

I saw in the changelog for cm9 a few days ago there was some mention of hdmi output being added. I haven't tested it myself yet, but that gives me hope that it will work.
