I have a skyrocket running latest cm9 nightly and I just rent 21 jump street on Google play and bought the HDMI adapter cable.
I keep plugging it in I tried turning it off and on and everything but nothing is working
Please help

Are there drivers released from the 3.0 kernel source for the phone
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
I don't believe there is MHL hdmi support for CM9/AOKP yet or at least at the July 1st nightly. Stick with stock or sky ics.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727R running SKY-ICS 4.2F-6
For sure with skyics 4-F The hdmi works because i use it alot.
I am not sure about other roms.
Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket I727 with Sky ICS 4F-6 waiting for JellyBeans
This may be a stupid question, but I was dumb enough to not figure this out on my own at first.
Are you plugged in to a wall charger in addition to your tv and your device? The hdmi converter needs an external power source (your standard wall charger).
I couldn't figure out why mine wasn't working because I was being an idiot and didn't notice the micro usb port on the adapter that you use to plug it into the wall.
I'm on CM9 nightlies but I haven't tried hdmi out since flashing it, so I can't say if it's a rom issue, but I thought I'd throw this out there for you in case it was something which should be obvious (even though I'm a f-ing genius and this wasn't obvious to me at first lol).
Thanks guys. Going to skyics
Edit: it worked!

Does anyone have an update on this? I'm going to find out for sure here soon (adapter is in the mail)... but just thought i should check. Since the kernel has been released for the SR, and implemented into instigators new kernels... is mhl something we can foresee happening soon? I think i remember reading that that was where the problem was...
Im rocking AOKPnow, but change on an almost daily basis.. Would love to keep it AOSP tho...

I used to only use aosp based roms no matter what phone I had but sky Ics is actually awesome. I think you should give it a shot at least. because I don't see aosp roms fixing that issue any time soon

I saw in the changelog for cm9 a few days ago there was some mention of hdmi output being added. I haven't tested it myself yet, but that gives me hope that it will work.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
the problem is with the bluetooth stack, im not sur ehow but i know it can be downgraded to bt 2.1, that was an experimental feature in designgears cognition rom a long time ago, he went back and forth with it a couple times but said there were problems. that's not to say gtg or razor or h8trift or mikey couldnt figure it out but i dont see anyone showing interest in that on a samsung base rom. you might have to wait for the infuse to get an aosp rom, donate to a kernel dev like netarchy of razor who may have the ability to make an aosp compatable kernel for cm7.

3 Froyo released (Infused, Bionix, Refuse)
1 Gingerbread released (Infused v2)
1 Gingerbread available as source code only, with CWM packages occasionally popping up on IRC (Cyanogenmod 7 port)
I believe there are 2-3 Gingerbread coming. I think Nop was almost finished with a Gingerbread variant of Bionix but was getting nervous about releasing after seeing what happened to gtg's Gingerbread thread.
MikeyMike01 has some stuff in progress, but he doesn't release his stuff until it's 100% - this includes MIUI in early testing stages as of last night.
gtg, LinuxBozo, and Mikey have been working on an interesting project that should give us a LOT of ROM options if it works. I'm not going to say much more as it's an early thing and there's always the possibility of hitting a roadblock.
There's a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff going on at the moment. CM7 seems to be where a lot of the push is right now. One of the few things remaining missing is Bluetooth at this point - unfortunately hciattach causes a kernel mini-panic with almost no useful debugging information.

Is it looking better than the CM7 that is available for the Captivate? I tried it countless times but kept going back to the i9000 based ROMs. Video/graphics was a huge issue. Games would lag and stutter and video playback was a challenge.
(hope that didn't come across the wrong way....)

Media playback seems fine. Parallel Kingdom seems as good as it was on Froyo or the Rogers ROM.
I haven't had a chance to retry Navigation yet.
Bluetooth is 100% broken still. hciattach causes a mini kernel panic when you try to turn on BT.
CM7 is at this point my daily driver. BT was never working for XDAndroid on the HTC Rhodium, so I'm kind of used to not having it.
Is there a way to make this work? I've switched to mikfroyo so that the ROM is a 2.2, and i also tried the HDMwIn app from the market...I can get videos from the SD card and YouTube to work, but netflix won't work properly...sometimes the sound will come out, but no picture...
Does anybody know a fix to this? I searched netflix hdmi, but it only pulled up some other ROM threads...

I am a noobie to things here, but i have been rooted for some time now and I do alot of reading to learn things from xda. I was also having this problem with both my wife and my EVO. Both are rooted and are running r3charged final. They both use golden monkey kernels. And the problem is in the kernel. So I did a lot of reading up on this, as i always do and found that chopsuye v.9.1.7 will allow you to use hdmi. I have tested it myself and its works the best. Hope this helped.

Could be a number of things really. My wife runs Synergy(Myn's) on 2.3 with the HDMwIn app and the recommended kernel and its perfect. When you first open the HDMwIn app it tells you to download some daemon add on, did you? When i tried without that it didnt work. Also, it recommends a custom kernel in the app t0o and even has a link. Thats the one i use and it works perfect. Keep in mind though that this is all on Android 2.3, maybe you should update.........
I actually had her on a 2.3 ROM and I downloaded the daemon and it did not work, but I didn't do the kernel because I noticed that the HDMwIn app said that it probly won't work on a 2.3, so that's why I switched to a 2.2, but i haven't done the kernel yet, that will be my next move, its just taking me a lil bit as her phone is not my priority...

I would suggest FEARMEde if you don't want the Bliss look. Hybrid is being updated tomorrow, FEARMEde has already been updated.
MikG is a close second.
Word of advice: mount "Data" in "Mounts" section of Amon Ra before flashing the kernel. Newer Sense ports are delicate with that for some reason. I always do it now.
Edit: Hybrid and FEARMEde are both updated now. And they are awesome.

I was going to start a similarly titled thread, but I think I'll post my dilemma and question here.
I have a Captivate on CM7, but I awoke Thanksgiving morning to my power button working about 1 or 2 times out of 20 tries. I know there is a volume button wake option in CM7, but dammit I want it to work right! To "fix" my power button, I'm thinking about picking up an Infuse. It has always looked to me what the Captivate should have been.
My question is this: How is the current state of CM7 running for you guys on the the Infuse? I'm not afraid of unofficial builds in the slightest! I saw that bluetooth is non-functional, but that's fine. My setup on the Cappy is CM7 with the adrenaline shot and super charger mods. I'll be looking to do the same here.

Two questions for you. How is the battery life compared to the stock leaked roms and once I flash Cm7 is there anything special you have to do to get back to stock? On my captivate I had to Odin it back to stock, I couldn't just flash a new rom.

It is stable enough to where it is my daily driver. GPS works fine. Wifi does too. besides Bluetooth not working, its pretty dam stable.
Is anyone else having this problem? As much as I love CM10.1 and etc., I keep finding myself going back to say CleanRom. Does anyone have perfect stability on a 10.1 rom? I lose data, then get that fixed. Then I lose GPS. Just a hassle!

I find that TW roms are more stable, and after going from beans b7 to cm10.1 I find cm boring and lacking in many software areas. However, it is still a great ROM just a matter of personal preference

I've been on aosp pretty much from day 1 and don't ever see myself going back. Sure some of the betas and alphas had issues, but I've been on aokp milestone 1 and have 0 issues!! Everything works, and I get over 4 hours of screen time per charge.
Not too mention the unbelievable amount of tweaks that an aosp ROM allows you!!
The only thing I miss is the TW camera, not that the aosp is bad.

I'm just the opposite. I'll try out a TW ROM, here and there, but I always end up going back to Baked BlackBean. I have had no issues regarding data, or GPS, with Baked.
There is a milestone for cm10. The 4.2 ROMs are still in beta mode. I have been running cm10 m1 for weeks and everything works perfectly. Like I said 4+ hours of screen time plus all the customizations make it too hard to go back to anything TW based.

Not trying to be a jerk but when people say everything works perfectly and I go into said ROMs thread only to find bugs it annoys me. Can we please work on stating that "it works perfectly for my needs". Right in the first post it points out to possible issues with GPS, call volume, music players, tethering and bluetooth.

Not trying to be a jerk, but you said it yourself "possible issues" it doesn't mean that everyone will have issues. We all know that ROMs behave differently on different phones. What I stated was accurate. CM10 M1 works on my phone with no issues. GPS, call volume, music player tethering and Bluetooth all work with no issues.

Same with me. CM10.1 is great, but if I need to use my phone in an emergency, I want to know I have a phone to rely on. And tethering doesn't work (At least I think it doesn't work).

I may be lucky but I haven't experienced much of the problems people claim in CM10.1. I doubt I'll ever look back at TouchWiz-based roms.
Personally, I've never used CM on any of my devices, I've always used others. For instance, I ran stock unrooted Touchwiz on my S3 for a couple months, then I switched to Liquidsmooth, I had that as my daily driver for at least 6 weeks, but the FC's and data dropouts were too much to bear so I went looking for another ROM, I installed Mean Lean Jellybean Machine Build 4 and loved it, so once Build 5 came out I switched to that, and have been on it ever since! I think I'll be staying on this ROM for awhile.

TouchWiz is actually an awesome oem skin for Android. It gets unfairly attacked because people think AOSP/CM must be better.
My personal experience: after rooting never used cm10.1 went straight to finding a good rom. Used executioner 2.5 liked the feel, speed, and battery life. Felt very stable. Tried cleanrom but started experiencing some bugs, switched quickly. Currently im running superchargedwiz rom kyjelly and it seems very stable i closely compare it to executioner 2.5 although im not getting the same battery life as i was getting on executioner but supercharged is very smooth. If i can figure out ktweakers kernal that came with supercharged, i know its possible to tweak it just right to get the right battery settings. My suggestion if your looking for a good rom to play with try one of these 2.
