Google Bring Games on Google+ Finally - General Topics

Google today finally revealed a gaming element for Google+, the social network the company launched at the end of June

nooooooooo
no no, what next, those stupid "what twilight character are you?" quizzes?

So many people are happy about this.
However i'm not.
I think they should do the following.
Either not allow people to share there score in the streams and only show it once you play the game. Or allow the circles to active game post in that stream or redirect them to a specific game related stream.
I do not give a crap what the hight score was of my friend playing jewel.

That's exactly what they're doing, there's a seperate stream for games. All your friends highscores etc appear in that stream. Your normal stream will be the same, for sharing information, not game stuff.

NOO
Its like facebook and Myspace

Do you think we'll be able to keep our scores between android mobile and Google plus to play on any screen ?

How do you get to it? what games are up?

sorry for going out of topic. but hows google+ growth so far? any signs of dying out? is it still continuing strong?.. apparently it seems to me that its not getting enough hype to compete with facebook yet..
Edit: games are pretty cool xD

Invitation only beta.

It's over 20 million now brah from its launch. The growth is unstoppable.

The only problem for me : out of those 20millions, I found only 2 of my friends, Computer specialists, like me.
The audience is not so wide and mainly composed of geeks for the moment .

I don't think Google will let it turn into Facebook with the stupid quizzes.

What?! NO! >.< Not good news... Unless of course, the games are well designed with developers not greedy for money? That'd be a nice change.

So far it looks like they are handling this better than Facebook has by hiding all the spam in a different stream. Honestly I don't know why the games need to do that at all though, but that's just me.

[REQ] Music/Rythym game?

First of all I hope this is in the right section.
I was hoping to find some awesome music/rythym games later in the Android Market.
Well, it's been about over a year since Android was released, and I still see a lack of good rythym games!
My request is for a developer to try their best and create a well-designed music game, hopefully using our own music from the SD card..
That would be awesome!
Do you mean like this?

Id like to see multitouch implemented somewhere in one of these games ...

No, I know this is on the market, but we need something better.
Guitar Hero mobile for Android wasn't exactly the best experience I've had.
I have been asking for this game to come to Android since I got my G1. Mainly looking for the NIN Edition!
http://tapulous.com/
Even sent them a request, but so far nothing has come of it. I recommend everybody request it, If there is enough support they might port it.

Can't post links yet, but this is the original thread starting from last year, stating that if theres enough demand, they'll try to port it.
some of you may have played it before but this is a steam game called Audiosurf

a game like this would be awesome on the nexus... basically it produces a unique track based off of each song for that song and its a sort of tetris game where you have to match the blocks up and such... was well worth 10 dollars on steam when it first dropped, i had countless hours of obsessed fun on the thing

That's a very good game, but it needs to ne refined more. But we REALLY need a game like TTR or Audiosurf, I have nothing against taps of fire, but I don't like playing on amazing. Too much for my thumbs.

Everybody should request it so we can get it ported.
In the mean time, I found this:
http://code.google.com/p/tapsoffire/
Somebody mentioned it in this thread already, but I searched the market for it, but it didn't appear. It probably wasn't designed for the Nexus so it didn't show up, but there is a Droid version available from the Google code page. Free and open source!
One of the best music games is Taps of Fire. I have it installed, I recommend others to download this app too, only bad thing is having to hit the notes a little early, but its fine.

[Game] Parallel Kingdom [MMORG] 1,000,000+ players [FREE]

Say Hello to a new World.
There are few games on mobile that are insanely addictive. Parallel Kingdom AOT, is by far the most intriguing one I have come across. PK comes across as a MMORG, which uses the GPS on your phone to place you in your actual location in game.
The game starts you off as an explorer beginning his/her journey. As you continue your adventure, you level up, get upgraded weapons and armor, and slay monsters day in day out. You constantly play alongside other players, from throughout the world, teaming with them to form kingdoms, cities and alliances.
Parallel Kingdom uses Google Maps as the background, and makes use of GPS satellites to place you in your real life location. New updates including the satellite map feature lead to you actually getting the sense that you are enjoying a high seas adventure with your mates, or leading an expedition through the Sahara desert, or struggling through the Amazon forest, slaying any monsters that come you way.
The great thing about PK is that you continue in the same place you leave. So you don’t have to worry about getting back to where you log off. Perblue devs have managed to create an amazing game through almost a 3-year period.
PK is available on both Android and iOS.The game has reached the 1,000,000 player mark and is spreading fast. The game is a nice change from Angry Birds, and maybe a step away from it and possibly all other games. Don't blame me if you end up becoming a PK addict.
Try to use my referral code at the end of the tutorial.
Use kmfkl to get 300 food, and 1000 gold. My in-game name is democrats , message me and i'll get you into a nice city and kingdom.

Hello new world......you got WoW por la me?
Seriously try this, this is an epic game. Not the 3-d graphics etc you would normally want from a mobile RPG. However, this is really an exceptional game, and it runs very smoothly, plus its easy to adapt to and very hard to get away from it.
Thanks for the tip, gonna have to try this out now!

The game uses food as a currency. Food can be bought with real cash, dollars pounds etc. One of the payment methods which can be used is Zong. Zong uses messages to get u food, I am not sure about the entire procedure but thats the basics. If you wish to buy food you are directed to a message which if you send gets you the amount of food you want to buy.
This was brought up on the PK forums as well.

I am not one of the devs. However, people at XDA looking for intuitive, exciting, and enjoyable content, and PK, is that. So it was'nt a surprise that this ended up on the front page.
It was maybe lost on the XDA forums, because when I checked for other threads about PK, there were a couple from two years ago.
This is a brilliant game and it deserves to be highlighted on the front page regardless of the day it was launched.

DB - Its people like you that are making XDA what it is now, D-Bags like you....
As far as OP goes, I love this game been playing for a few months too......It's very addicting and constant changes and improvements to gameplay and strategy. The Devs are great at listening to the users and giving them what they want. One of the best parts about this game is it's multi-platform so you are playing with IPhone players as well so the vast amount of people playing is ridiculousness. I got the same name on the game as here so look me up.

As for pk, I played it about 2 years ago, lasted an entire month and a half with me playing seldomly. I'm no longer an active player, but it was a great time waster when there's nothing else to do.

9mm to Xperia Play?

Do you guys think we will get '9mm' optimized for our Plays?
The game is available for iPhone, iPod and iPad today, and and gameloft says that the game will come to Android soon. What do you think?
Youtube video
I would love to play this on my Play with real controls :d
i hope we do. i got it on my iphone 4 and love it. it woukd be great to try with the controller
Haha just the other day I was looking for this game for Android and came to the same conclusion as you.
I'm pretty sure they'll optimize it, since they already have a lot of games with working stuff, except the sliding aiming pad which sucks hard IMO.
Let's hope they don't take too long to release it.

I think it works pretty good with the right settings and some training
Maybe I'm not used to it yet, right now I play NOVA2 from time to time and even if I try to move just a little bit and barely move my thumb I never get precise aiming - far objectives where they aren't auto-aimed.
Who really cares about gameloft games 3/4 of them suck the controls are just terrible I hope that some other game developer jumps on this phone and starts making games cause I refuse to pay for a game that doesn't even control properly. DARK in my opinion is the best shooter this phone has

I really hope they do, but with the time taken to port order and chaos (1 month so far and still not officially available) I think we will be left behind or wont get it at all, lets hope they start taking it seriously. Why not just allow us to set our own controls, open it up and let me set hardware buttons to anything I want

I love most gameloft games - they have their faliures, but they create decent games across multiple platforms and multiple devices at a very reasonable price point. Plus if you have any problems they are very helpful and will give out free games as compensation.

There you go again. Stop with the personal attacks. People are entitled to their opinions and not everything is Daises and Roses. If you can take the bad with the good then maybe you should be the one to go away.
We are all adults and come here to discuss gaming and the Play. If enough people complain and someone from Gameloft reads it then maybe they will do something about it. You are not the Forum police so please stop the personal attacks.
Or are you a Dev from Gameloft and can’t take the feedback?

If people dont like gameloft games, don't buy them, the only way gameloft will get the message is when they get there bank statement XDA is about sharing ideas and experiences, not moaning about the same thing every day on every single thread, this thread is about the possibility of 9mm for the play, no1 cares what thatsupnow thinks of gameloft, it's not even relevent to the thread, and to be honest we have all heard what he has to say, again and again and again .......
"If people dont like gameloft games, don't buy them, the only way gameloft will get the message is when they get there bank statement "
Not really. Just like Call of Duty BO people buy it anyway. BO was the only game I have ever sold. I keep my games no matter what. People don't know the controls suck if they are not told. And after you buy the games it's too late.

What's the thread title? It's certainly not "What's your opinion on Gameloft games controls". I agree with the other guys. I own like 5 gameloft games, I know damn well that some of them suck balls for controls, I don't need to see it everywhere on these forums, only in appropriate places. This thread is about a single game, 9mm, which isn't even out for Android yet so you have no idea how it controls on the Play.

[GAME][BETA]ScanDroid Kingdoms-Barcode Scanning RPG (10/24/2012)

I am looking for people to help with the testing and creative development of a game I am working on.
I am REMAKING a game I had on the market last fall. Its still called ScanDroid, at least for now.
The theme of the game has changed, and there are a lot more features being worked on this time around.
I am making it from scratch this time, which is making for a faster process and cleaner code.
Here's the game in a nutshell:
RPG Fantasy Theme
Scan Barcodes to collect items, bonuses, and exp, and to battle NPCs
Battle NPC Barcodes
Battle Online(soon to be implemented)
Share QR code of character for others to battle locally(soon to be implemented)
Gain items, level up, and use an item shop
Anything other the creative testers can help me get an idea to add in.
It is a text based pocket scanner Pokemon style online barcode scanning game.
Everyone who i had try the last version of it loved it, but due to my limited ability at that time and the holidays the game eventually lost steam and fell apart. I have received a lot of feedback and am much more capable now of delivering a fuller more entertaining experience.
I need people who are COMMITTED to:
Test out each release, on a daily to bi-daily basis
Give good feedback that can be used to fix and improve the game
have ideas to help make it better
willing to use google plus messenger to join our beta huddle, and actively participate.
Please, reply to this with your google+ email address, or PM me.
I had about 40 ppl who wanted to beta test last time around, and all but 6 fell through on activiely participating.
I appreciate ANY help I can get.
Here is the Facebook Page Link. This will be the best way for you to let me know you want to be a tester/helper!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to be in the beta too. Seems interesting.
Also, a feature that uses GPS as "Zombies, RUN!" would be great (say, you go out from your home and scan codes in the supermarket for example, or battle random monsters after X meters from your "den", or collect items after walking X meters, and such).
The thing is, you should focus on the things that make "Zombies, Run!" awesome and try to replicate them.

[GAME][2.1+][FREE] Greater Than 11

So I made this little silly game this past week just for fun. Leaving it here just in case you currently have no idea what to play on your trips to the toilet, haha. Check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rrrgames.greaterthaneleven
It's a simple, yet addictive game about quick-thinking. The goal is simple: you have to avoid all the obstacles by dragging the circle with your finger for at least 11 seconds.
Think you can do it? It's annoyingly challenging.
Feel free to rate the game also, if you wish, hehe. Have fun!

Hey anuloid! Glad you enjoyed it, hehe. Yea it's super hard! But trust me, you get better as you play.
I think I'm currently sitting at around 100 installs to be honest (but the stats aren't updated on Google Play yet so I don't know for sure ).
The only ad in the game in an interstitial that appears every once in a while (I didn't want to annoy the player too much! ). I think it'll be alright in terms of monetization. My main goal here was to release some silly game for fun, not really make a huge buck out of it. ^^
Thanks for your comment!

Turns out, by the way, that the monetization ain't doing so bad either! Even though there's only 1 ad in the game and it only appears every once in a while, people tend to click it very often apparently, probably because in order to RETRY after Game Over you have to press the screen (anywhere) and I suppose people tend to do that very fast, almost by instinct.
Didn't expect this kind of return for a silly game that I did just for fun, hehe. ^^ I guess people are actually playing it!

I find the psychological aspect of the game very useful for monetization purpose. The behavioral peak comes very often in the game and that is the main point I guess to monetize that kind of game (like Flappy bird). I guess you should do your best re marketing aspect. Sure it is possible to make good money from the game, ever though I think eCPM could be low.
Keep eye on eCPM and let me know about the success of the game. It is interesting to learn about my forecasting

Seriously? Why would they do that though? There's nothing wrong with the game; I implemented the interstitial ad the same way most other games do... and my clicks are coming from all over the world (people in the 5 continents) apparently. It's not like I'm cheating or anything... if they banned me for no reason like that, that would suck. :/

Ad Walls and Interstitial Ads
Interstitial ads may only be displayed inside of the app they came with. Forcing the user to click on ads or submit personal information for advertising purposes in order to fully use an app is prohibited. A prominent and accessible target must be made available to users in any interstitial ad so they may dismiss the ad without penalty or inadvertent click-through.
Anyway it will be known after some period of time in case you keep eCPM on that level....imho

Yeah, we'll see I guess...
I'll let you know how it goes.

Seriously? Why would they do that though? There's nothing wrong with the game; I implemented the interstitial ad the same way most other games do... and my clicks are coming from all over the world (people in the 5 continents) apparently. It's not like I'm cheating or anything... if they banned me for no reason like that, that would suck. :/

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the Hardcore mode is only unlocked when you achieve at least 5.5 seconds on Normal mode!

Hah, 5.5 is easy, give it a few more tries!
eCPM is still high as before, apparently.
Yea I hadn't started promoting the game for real yet, seeing as I kind of released it incomplete, and being the only person involved, I had to focus on development instead of marketing, heh. But yea now I'm starting to promote it in many places; let's see how that goes!
