First of all I hope this is in the right section.
I was hoping to find some awesome music/rythym games later in the Android Market.
Well, it's been about over a year since Android was released, and I still see a lack of good rythym games!
My request is for a developer to try their best and create a well-designed music game, hopefully using our own music from the SD card..
That would be awesome!

Id like to see multitouch implemented somewhere in one of these games ...

No, I know this is on the market, but we need something better.
Guitar Hero mobile for Android wasn't exactly the best experience I've had.
I have been asking for this game to come to Android since I got my G1. Mainly looking for the NIN Edition!
http://tapulous.com/
Even sent them a request, but so far nothing has come of it. I recommend everybody request it, If there is enough support they might port it.

some of you may have played it before but this is a steam game called Audiosurf
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTZTPdDW7PM
a game like this would be awesome on the nexus... basically it produces a unique track based off of each song for that song and its a sort of tetris game where you have to match the blocks up and such... was well worth 10 dollars on steam when it first dropped, i had countless hours of obsessed fun on the thing

That's a very good game, but it needs to ne refined more. But we REALLY need a game like TTR or Audiosurf, I have nothing against taps of fire, but I don't like playing on amazing. Too much for my thumbs.
Here is the link for tap tap revenge:

Everybody should request it so we can get it ported.
In the mean time, I found this:
http://code.google.com/p/tapsoffire/
Somebody mentioned it in this thread already, but I searched the market for it, but it didn't appear. It probably wasn't designed for the Nexus so it didn't show up, but there is a Droid version available from the Google code page. Free and open source!
One of the best music games is Taps of Fire. I have it installed, I recommend others to download this app too, only bad thing is having to hit the notes a little early, but its fine.

I haven't really posted here before (just rather used xda for learning/issues mostly) so im sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum for requesting apps. I've done some reading and it seems a dreamcast emulator is still a ways off, but I'm not really worried about dreamcast as much as I am the game ikaruga. I only played this game a few times at a friends house but I fell in love with it. I think this game could run well on newer phones with good processors. I have a droid x and would be forever grateful to whoever could bring this game to the droid and I would totally pay for this if it were released. Just a suggestion..
I would pay for this as well! Definitely the best vertical shooter in my mind.

I agree. Not only was this game beautifully laid out and full of action, it was also a puzzle at the same time. You had to shoot the hell outta things as well as change the light/dark modes to avoid masses of bullets/missles/debri/etc...It was very hard yet challenging and you had to pretty much remember the patterns of each level in order to get further. Like you said, the best vertical shooter i've ever played in my opinion and I only played it a few times.
Ikaruga was fun. Although it wouldn't exactly be possible to do a direct port.. Especially as it's a commercial game where we don't have access to the source and DC emulation isnt great on computers. rRootage (concept based on Ikaruga, nowhere near as good) is open source I believe and was ported to the PSP a while back. Kenta Cho's games are awesome

Ya, I've read nothing but troubles with dreamcast emulation. Even though new phones could handle it, I know that the process is very difficult (even though I know very little about programming/development). Even a game like you mentioned thats based off Ikaruga would suffice. I want a vertical shooter thats not just shootem up but actually has a puzzle-like atmosphere where you have to you use your problem-solving skills as well as be very quick and strategic with your enemies. I was just enchanted by a game that was so difficult when you first started but got easier as you remembered where to switch light/dark as well as handle an onslaught of enemies (who were also more weak/resistant to each of the modes which added for even more strategy.). Almost impossible at first, but with promise to move further if you had good skills; unlike some games that are basically impossible to beat without cheats. You'd think I played this game a lot seeing how much I'm talking about it but I only was able to make it through the first 2 levels or so b/c it was so difficult and I only got to play it a few times at a friends.
Back to the subject though, someone pretty pleeease develop a game similar to this.
games on the android platform are really lacking in style and just all round refinement compared to the iPhone. but having said that the company I work for just released the first lite version game of the blob man series.
It's called blob warrior lite and is up on the android market, so if you're looking for a good game check it out. It's the first in the series of blob games released by Black Snow and the paid version should be coming out by February 14th.
Blob Warrior Lite is an addicting game for android using the accelerometer to control the main character as it zooms around trying to avoid being eaten.
Its a fun game and works well - but I wouldnt go as far as saying it's more refined than others for Android.

Now what use is that? I'm certain it's people and comments like that, that deters any decent game devs from Android.
Personally, I liked it! It's not something I'd play for hours on end. but a few minutes here and there
Needs a little more work I'd say, for example ability to adjust tilt sensitivity

That was helpful. How about showing your displeasure with the game without being a jerk?
Ater playing the first few games i thought 'Hmm, well this is going to be impossible to dodge the little red montsters.' Then i accidently clicked the screen and a cheese puff popped out which from then on i found out i could shoot the little red monsters haha!
But all in all yes an addictive game which can be played here and there, with different levels + difficulties etc.

That comment was perfectly justified given the arrogance of the OP.
The OP put down every SINGLE Android game saying they all suck, and then talks about how great his new game is.
He could have just said "Hey everyone, here's a new game: xyz" rather than calling every other Android game crap.
So yes, that comment was definitely justified.

wrong, the douche-poster did not touch on this at all....he was just trashing the development of the game, which is gutless and unnecessary. he could have at least worded it in a fashion that was condusive with a person above the age of 8.
as far as the OP's pitch....who cares, theres nothing wrong with being competitive and and trying to reel people in. after all, it is a "market"....no reason to get all bent out of shape over an app promotion, just dont download it

thanks for all the feedback everyone. I will admit the graphics probably need some work and there are more updates to come very close in the future. As for the Motorola Droid problem it might be a resolution issue considering a the different screen ratios out there. I'll pass it on to and see if we can find a fix

Yeah they are working on it right now. Didnt take them too long to finish the iOS one so hopefully it will be out soon. I've got it on my iPod and its awesome, cant wait to play on my X with that big ass screen lol.
In the meantime, you can always play "beats" in Osu mode which is pretty similar since both games are based on "Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan" (known as "Elite Beat Agents" in the US/EU).
I'm glad to see ReRave being ported on android, and it will probably be a decent game, but the guys behind this game (Kyle Ward and Chris Foy) are really fun : They created In The Groove which was a copy of Dance Dance Revolution, got sued by Konami and lost the rights to the game.
A few years later what do they do ? a new original game ? No... They just create a new company and copy another game
I just hope they finish the Android version before they get sued by Nintendo or iNiS
We've got this covered though, with a patent and whatnots.
The android port won't take too long, just some iOS specific code needs to be rewritten.
Yes, I helped work on the game (I'm one of the graphics dudes ;D )
Good news then, thanx !
Looks like it could be fun

I'm pretty sure they'll optimize it, since they already have a lot of games with working stuff, except the sliding aiming pad which sucks hard IMO.

I think it works pretty good with the right settings and some training
Maybe I'm not used to it yet, right now I play NOVA2 from time to time and even if I try to move just a little bit and barely move my thumb I never get precise aiming - far objectives where they aren't auto-aimed.

I really hope they do, but with the time taken to port order and chaos (1 month so far and still not officially available) I think we will be left behind or wont get it at all, lets hope they start taking it seriously. Why not just allow us to set our own controls, open it up and let me set hardware buttons to anything I want

We are all adults and come here to discuss gaming and the Play. If enough people complain and someone from Gameloft reads it then maybe they will do something about it. You are not the Forum police so please stop the personal attacks.

What's the thread title? It's certainly not "What's your opinion on Gameloft games controls". I agree with the other guys. I own like 5 gameloft games, I know damn well that some of them suck balls for controls, I don't need to see it everywhere on these forums, only in appropriate places. This thread is about a single game, 9mm, which isn't even out for Android yet so you have no idea how it controls on the Play.

Hey everybody,
I just wanted to tell you about my new awesome drumming game, FLOW - A Space Drum Saga. Unlike comparable games, where you just have to hit colored buttons when they reach the bottom of your screen, you really have to feel the rhythm to play the drums and master the game.
If you are talented or musical experienced you can take right off. If not the game might be a little hard in the beginning. Practise for a few games and play with headphones, the reward is twelve unique levels full of style, pathos and fun, and possibly the most incredible gaming experience for a long time. And you will learn to drum. Seriously.
Just give it a try, and tell me what you think. You can download it for free in the Play Store.
I would love to provide some screenshots but my account is too new :/

All you guys seem to think that . Must be the minimalistic graphics, altough those of Patapon are way better. This and drumming is the only thing they might have in common.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't get the Google Play Store. FLOW is ranked pretty badly although it has only good ratings. I guess too many people uninstall the game, because they can't win the first level, or maybe because I don't sell the app. I tried my best to make FLOW popular, but all the game mags and press guys I contacted ignored me or asked for money to write a review. Screw them, xda-dev is much better, and that's why you will get exclusive insights instead of them.
As soon as my other project is done I will start to work on the next FLOW update. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Those are a few things I want to add, but not everything will be part of the next update.
Noob difficulty:
Too many people fail. So the noob difficulty has to get easier. Maybe I will add visual beat indicators like in guitar hero to help beginners get started. This is something I really didn't want to implement, but noobs might need it. At the moment only the first four levels can be played on noob difficulty, the update changes it to the whole game, but the Special Drums will remain hard to be played.
Multiplayer:
Challenging each other online would be damn cool, right? I've got some ideas...
New Levels:
The story of FLOW will be continued. But I won't spoil anything yet.
Level editor:
It would be pretty awesome if everybody could create custom levels for FLOW and share them on the web. This is a LOT of work, and probably won't be part of the next update. But it will come. :fingers-crossed:
I will keep you up-to-date about the progress.

Darren is right. It's supposed to work on your phone. Requirements are SDK 8 (Android 2.2) and above. I have played it on a Galaxy Ace myself some time ago, so this is really weird. Does this happen with other apps too? Do you have enough space on your device? Maybe try a reboot... Sorry, but this is all I can help you with at the moment.
=========================
I have made a public benchmark of FLOW I want to share with you guys:
pastehtml.com/view/cf2osimmc.html (sorry, still no links yet :/)
And the Winner is the good old Galaxy S II, thanks to the smaller screen resolution it beats the bigger S III at FLOW...
If your game is running slow, you should turn off some of the graphics settings, like antialiasing. This can help A LOT.
Played it, love it, it's a really nice fun game. Now excuse me, I'm space-drumming.
I am really enjoying the game on both a galaxy s3 and my nexus 7. I find that it can be a little jittery at times on both devices and I'm hoping that the next update smooths out the overall gameplay.

Actually it should run quite smooth on a galaxy s3. Maybe there are some background processes of other apps that start now and then and lower the performance of the game at times. You can try to use a task killer to shut down all your apps and then launch FLOW.
If this doesn't help or is too uncomfortable, you can turn off some of the graphics settings. Turning off Anti Aliasing improves the performance by 10 - 20%. If you turn off all the graphic settings the game will run up to three times faster, depending on device and level.
Fun game, very original!
