Ice Cream Sandwich Details:
- Brand-new launcher and app drawer, with screenshots of both featured exclusively on RootzWiki
- Blue Themed
- Camera now has a panorama mode (not pictured)
- G mail has been totally re-themed to go with the new OS (not pictured)
- Nexus S will be receiving ICS via update, but the "Nexus Prime" will be getting it first, then other devices will follow after.
- Will launch with Google Shopper and NFC Enabled devices will be able to utilize those features
- The little icon in the bottom right, looks like a tray with multiple apps in it
- Google search bar embedded on very top like Honeycomb
- Apps/Widgets launcher a lot like Honeycomb
- This release is still very early, notice the theming of the power tray
- Mostly UI changes - many older devices (< 1 year old) should be able to run it

The icon at the bottom right hand corner looks like a Task switcher, and going by the Icon pic, seems as if its going to have a Windows 7 style Aero switching animation (would be cool if it is )
Interesting..
To the people who are saying that they were hoping for more than this: this is still an incredibly early release. I'm willing to bet El Goog has a lot more to change before this hits our phones.
But imagine what CyanogenMod 8 is gonna be like!
I'm not sure if this is fake or real. It could very easily be a rewritten launcher, themed, and the build.prop edited. But it does look very professional and Google like - that app drawer looks like the latest release of the Market.
Also; I wonder what that 'Widgets' button is for? Is that the new Add menu? Hmm.
Looks really good actually. Decent multi tasking integration i hope a la honeycomb.

I think the screen is the revamped app drawer, made to support widget selection so you can just drag them to the home screen. So basically, it will perform the functions of the traditional element selection screen of previous Android builds.
yeah, cm 8

....sounds really good....
Blue themed but the power widget is still green like in Gingerbread. Hmm.....
The only thing that is relevant to me is if they add hardware acceleration to the ui. Also, improving the ui & making it more user-friendly wouldn't hurt.

A lot of stuff are still untouched it seems - including the look of widgets. Even some icons are taken from Froyo like that of the dialer.
And thanks guys for hooking me up at the XDA Portal!
dang its so BA that it has to censor itself hopefully come launch they can go with less block'y looking censorship...
seems awesomeeeeee !!!
Cant wait for Chrome Bookmarks Sync... maybe also session sync... would be awesomeeee
I'm wondering if they are going to use the recently released 3.0 kernel in the official release?
I do like the honeycomb like search on top

I think they will. The pictures depict the kernel version as 2.6.x probably because it's a really early build of ICS.
I can't wait until this is released!
The Launcher actually reminds me a lot of Sharp's TimeScape UI on their current crop of DoCoMo Android phones - with the app drawer on the left, task switcher on the right and shorties in the middle.
Hopefully we can squeeze a third shortcut in there!
I like the departure from green, also Thanks for the info!
I'm hearing rumors it is fake. Someone looked at the kernel and said it was the one on Froyo. Can someone confirm that rumor?

Hi,
We have been working in an experimental app and we whould like to share with this community.
The application is a Live Wallpaper where you can chose some of your installed app icons to be shown in the live wallpaper, hanging arround with physics. The icons will behave as launcher for their respective apps.
In the configuration you can limit the apps movement to only one of your desktops, the center screen.
Any feedback will be apreciated, we will be working on this app adding new features and solving issues if needed.
You can find it on android market, its free and the name is Gravity Home

Feature request:
I had the standard setting icons for bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and Auto-sync previously. it would be nice if these also were available in the list of apps.
Bug:
The people icon doesn't open my address book when I press on it.
I've used it on the following phone:
Device: HTC Desire Z
Version: 2.2.1 stock

Hi,
The gps/wifi/data widgets and maybe more are in our future plans
About the problem launching the address book, it has an easy solution, we had already fixed the camera , will be the same, probably on next update this week it will be solved
Thanks for the bug report and the feature request!
Will try it .......Maybe it might turn out to be a huge hit.........Anywhos nice concept!!!!!!!!!!
this looks amazing
keep the good work ongoing!
It doesn't look amazing, IT IS AMAZING !
So far so good, will report anything.
Thanks for this lovely thing
I just installed this to try it out and went straight to the settings to see if I could add some apps. I waited for the list to load then something strange happened. The screen froze with a few black lines across it and started getting brighter and brighter like the system was increasing the brightness above the limits or something. Sounds strange I know. I quickly got the cover off and removed the battery, phone is fine now but just before I removed the battery I noticed the usually pitch black background was now light grey! I've now uninstalled and I'm on Darky's ROM 9.5 with the Darky Core 1.4 Kernel. Modem is JVE.
I love it but i wish it worked properly on the EVO 3D, when you go to add apps it just constantly says loading and never loads any of the apps to show on the screen.
Very original and innovative concept. I absolutely love it. The icons move around clean and doesnt appear to bog the phone down to much.
Issue: on vibrant rom kb5 (Stock + rooted myself).
I have 4 screens (which highest is always the real "home" screen). Icons wont show up at all if I dont limit to 1 screen in the options.
If I limit to 1 screen, it shows up on screen 3 instead of screen 4.
Bloody amazing. Words fail me. Glad I have a Mugen barry in my Nexus though!
Amazing ! I love it.
I'd love to be able to shake my phone and have the icons get shuffled, would that be possible ?
Very cool! Great work!
Like the others, excellent!
Work like a charm on my i9003
Have you plan to add more settings? Like speed or bounce force?

android 2.3.4
Trying this on my HTC Sensation and its friggin sweeeeeeet. I loved the falling androids lwp but gave it up a while back but I loved the concept. This went to the next level. It's actually has function than just the looks!
Is it possible to add a custom wallpaper in the background? If its already there I didn't see it in the settings.
+1 to you OP!
Looks sexy, I'm looking forward to it
I can't find it in the market it said not compatable with my i5800 can u give me the apk or something to try?
Very original and very nice. I like it because it doesn't bog the phone down and is visually appealing to look at. No errors or problems what so ever on Nexus S running stock 2.3.4
I like this app. It looks great and works well. I have two suggestions:
1. In settings let me change it from a black background to a picture of my choice. I normally use a static image, but would use your app if I would put a static image behind it.
2. Let me choose which home screen the icons are on.
I've spent some time making the LINGO DAB GO! app looking good on ICS / JB, getting rid of the orange coloured UI that it had originally. Unfortuantely I don't yet have the external hardware required to have the app work, so not only is this a post up, it's also a sort of reach out for a tester of it
**BECAUSE THE APP USES THE HOLO THEME, IT NEEDS A VERSION WHICH HAS THE THEME IN IT, SO ANDROID 3.0 (Honeycomb) AND ABOVE ONLY!**
**THE APP USES AN EXTERNAL PIECE OF HARDWARE WHICH COSTS MONEY, IT WILL NOT WORK IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IT!**
If you wish to buy one, you may do so here
Original version (have a bucket ready if you dislike horrible UIs)

What I changed:
- New icon (Thanks to bharathp666 of DeviantArt for that
- Made the UI work with Holo - Action bar added, app names for each part of the UI, icons for each part, "proper" pop up designs
- Fixed the menu to look nicer - new icons, ICS gradient background, better text colour, etc.
- Fixed loads of spelling and grammar mistakes (it's obvious the people who made this didn't have English as their first language)
- Removed 'Menu button of embarrassment' - No more three dot menu button on tablets and devices with on screen soft keys
- Made the FM & DAB screens fit the holo theme, with darker gray parts (#282828) and Holo blue parts (#33B5E5), as well as white and black where it fits
- Modified the settings screen to fit Holo preferences UI (couldn't edit source, so couldn't implement AndroidPreferences UI)
- New name - Radio - fits it better
- Removed pointless in-app back buttons - phone back button does the same thing
- Made notification bar visible
New screenshots:
Bugs:
- Twitter (within the app) doesn't seem to be working
- Music (within the app) doesn't seem to be working on my Galaxy Nexus
Download:
Download from my site here
Feedback:
If you have a Lingo device which supports this, test the DAB and FM and report back to me please
Else, you may access the app by doing the following:
Using a launcher such as Nova, Apex or LauncherPro, add a shortcut > activity
Select Radio > "Twitter"
Open the shortcut and the app will open to the menu, as twitter isn't working currently
Coming in the update:
√ New, higher quality menu icons
√ Fixed issues where some devices wouldn't connect to twitter or the Lingo device itself (just waiting for my tester with a device to check that one)
√ Fixed settings menu not being sized correctly on some devices
√ Brand new tablet menu UI with larger icons (like a car mode)
Bad news:
Update breaks Holo action bar theme, which from what I understand will never return, as it breaks the Twitter and lingo connections. This also means the return of the menu button on devices without a hardware menu key.

Hi Quinny,
Q1- Is this app still alive and under development?
I'm interested in getting a Lingo - Ivy for my N7 to listen to DAB+ in my car.
Q2 - Any chance this will go open source? So we can skin and modify to suit different uses (eg: Car Radio)?
Thanks

It's a very limited edit of the UI too, as doing much more breaks the connection altogether. I'm also planning on getting an iVy soon, so I might be able to do some more to get stuff working

Cheers Quinny.
I'll keep an eye on this thread.
I've emailed them to ask about future support for their app; my main concern was around Play Market feedback of FCs and crashes.
I just noticed on their site (http://www.lingodab.co.uk/product_iVy.php) the buy button has gone D:
Anyone know anywhere else that does the iVy and will deliver to England?
I called the AUS supplier yesterday (http://digitaltechgroup.com.au/Product-Details-ivy-40.html) and I know they have stock (of the Ivy).
I don't know if they would ship to UK however.
Hax Launcher is a new take on the conventional Android launcher.
The Android Launcher game is dull, only a few launchers out there really redefine the way the Android launcher works. We are one of those. Our goal is to provide something fresh, but familiar enough to fully utilize from the moment you pick it up. Hax Launcher is still early in development, and features are being added all the time. Let's highlight a few differences between Hax and other launchers out there.
Instead of having lots of information spread out across multiple screens, we try to provide you with a more focused layout, targeting whatever you want to access the moment you want to access it.

Hax Launcher uses a custom system of LivePanels. These are third party applications that provide a simple widget-like behavior in the launcher's Main Menu. This is a totally new open system that any developer can tap into. There are multiple examples on GitHub, and we provide instructions for developing on Hax's LivePanel API on thehax.org.
Instead of your choosing apps to place on the dock, Hax uses a more familiar approach of putting your recent apps along the bottom, similar to a taskbar on a PC. Also like a PC, open up the Main Menu by pressing the circular start button in the dock. And you still get your chosen apps in the Main Menu, now in a scrollable list of app panels. Just drop an app on the dock at the bottom of the homescreen. If you want to remove apps from the main menu, swipe them left or right, off the list.
You can kill any running apps in the dock by swiping the icon upward. (Root may be required for full functionality. See Advanced under Launcher Settings to enable.)
Push notifications are built in to facilitate instant updates (and maybe a chat channel in the future...).
Universal search is built in. Nevermind Google's crippled search (and thanks a heap for that, Apple). Search the web, contacts, and installed applications right from the Main Menu. (This is still a very early feature and will be expanded in the future.)
Check out SimpleWeatherPlugin, one of the currently available LivePanel plugins.

Looks good
Looks good, supports all versions from 4.0 and upwards. Having more themes would make this even more awesome.
We will constantly add themes to the theme store. Our target is 3 themes per week.
Also depending on the occasion there will be themes like christmas theme which we are releasing today.

The picture in the first post shows modified dialer, status bar, messaging etc.
I suppose those are from miui? because yours is just a launcher + a lockscreen so it can't change other application colours, can it?
I want to preview the Theme before I installed the Theme on my phone
No Nexus 7 compatibility then?
No support for One X?
Nice.... Thanks for this!.. :highfive:

going to try this out.

SlideUP - the newest Android Material Design launcher with smart tiles on bottom bar.
Despite the simplicity of the idea, SlideUP Launcher has got a number of advantages over other Android launchers, and even decisions on iOS and MS Windows Phone OS. Rather, it includes the best of all platforms: flexibility of Android, convenience of iOS Control Centre and simpleness of WP design.

Here we go!
From what i seen on the video , the launcher is awesome
i will tray it later and let you know
Downloaded And installed. Very nice concept. Really love how you can slide up each icon..almost like a mini draw.
Added some screenshots
Nice concept. try'd it on my note 3. It's really basic. No fuze or over customization. Bit like google now launcher.
One thing i have noticed is that when your phone does not have on screen buttons you have then a complete empty row unther the slideup buttons.
Keep it up.:good:
On my phone I can't change anything on the app settings screen. Can't even change the order of the default apps, which are phone, messenger, all apps and camera. I see on the video you added short cuts to the bar and can swipe left and right but I can't do that either.
Sent from my LG-VS980 AICP7
It's have to work. Try to touch the "move icon" on the tile and move it up or down on list, like on the video (in launcher settings).

The gap between bottom of display and Smart Tape is a part of design, like the same empty space from left and right
It can also be used on android 4.1.2 but the grid size in app drawer is too small its 4x4 grid, if its 5x4 it would be much better or 5x5 , others its great, i like the slipe up features, keep it up!!
