After I updated to 2.3.3 my marketplace will not update to new version of market I think its 3.0. And it is greyed out where it says uninstall updates and just says cancel but I cant click it.is there a solution for this?
Just download the apk there's a thread in the general forum.
It will work the same.

I got mine by clearing the data/cache, force close, and phone restart. Opened market and it automatically updated. Might help you out.

fail.

maybe it's device based as well... if you don't get the update, just download the apk from the forum.

Clear market data from settings
rm /system/app/Vending.apk
then retry the apk.

I recently returned my infuse for another one and on my first infuse I had the most up to date android market place installed (came like that) but now with my phone I have an older version of the market place(2.12) does anybody know of a way to update it? I emailed the market place and they said to leave open the market place for a couple mins and maybe it would update itself but no luck so far... I've searched the forums but all the downloads seem to be out of date or removed...any help is greatly appreciated!

The market is supposed to update itself. Open the Market app and wait for a lil' longer. Might work.
Or.. the other solution is look for the .apk file. But you'll have to root your phone for that method.

Go to aplications in your settings and clear the market data this should work

Now that there is a new market you can just download the APK and install it with a file manager like Astro, no root needed. It should override the older market but your data and accounts will obviously still be there.

Indeed you can do that. However if you prefer an official update from google all you have to do is ensure market and market updater have their cache and data cleared, then launch market and press the home button. It will auto update in 5 to 10 mins.

What happens if i clear data for superuser? It keeps force closing. I'm running coredroid 8 n some of my apps keeps fore closing. I tried to do fix permissions in ROM manager, but keep getting a error message saying, an error occured while attempting to run privileged commands! So should I just clear data for superuser or will that mess something up? I can't even update my ROM manager to the updated version cause it keeps force closing when I try to do an update. I think superuser have something to do with that, because before coredroid 8 I haven't had a problem with flashing roms. I did a dalvik cache and a data wipe and cache before putting this ROM on my phone, because the ROM wouldn't work without doing so. Any advice... Thanks!

I am trying to buy an app from the market, but it tells me there is an error. I cleared cache, wiped app data, checked my cc info from my computer. I can buy stuff via my pc, but not my phone. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I Have no options to downgrade or remove updates. I can disable and reenable it, Which makes me accept terms and conditions again but still gives me an error code when trying to buy something

you might want to grab an older version of the market app from somewhere, there are plenty of Gapps packages available on the internet.
It's what worked for me when i couldn't install anything from the market. Restore an old backup, and re-upgrade. That fixed it.
The way I did it was through clearing the cache in settings and uninstalling updates. It worked for me after that.

Went into script manager and tried to uninstall, it wouldn't let me. It asked what I wanted to do with the file, and gave options, one is them being install, so installed vender and phonsky again. Went into apps, play was twice is normal size, had the option to uninstall updates, I did so, and cleared cache. Nothing but an error.

it would be good if you post wich error Google Play tell you, then if someone already fixed that can help you.
I've got a problem with google play, it doesn't install anymore any app, free or shareware, so i removed market and installed an older .apk found on the web, from then on, also after the re-update it started again to work. Also if your phone is rooted you can avoid the automatic update.
I hope this could be useful
Sooooo using rom toolbox, I uninstalled play. I grabbed a very old school market, it worked, but it didn't want to update to play. I junked that, I grabbed inverted market (black and blue) and still the same issue.
