dlna on cm7 - Defy Android Development

I was trying to put dlna app from a ginger rom (ms2ginger) on cm7, but i keep getting FC error anytime i'd tried to open.
here is a brief about what have i done:
1. copied Dlna.apk and DlnaSystemService.apk to /system/app
2. copied libdlnahttpjni.so, libdlnajni.so, libdlnaprofileparser.so and libdlnasysjni.so to /system/lib
3. copied dlnaserv to /system/bin
3. copied com.motorola.android.dlna_library.xml to /system/etc/permissions
4. copied com.motorola.android.dlna.jar to /system/framework
Check all permissions, it seems to be ok
I think a lot of people who uses cm7 will like to have this one on their rom, so if anyone have a workaround for this, please, give some ideas...
P.D: I'm claiming for some help from devs kings
Here is a logcat of the FC:

dlna is a blur dependant????

Been trying to do this as well, found two apps on Market that work the same and/or better. BubbleUPnP for streaming, MX Video Player for local renderer.
Cheers!

Try imediashare. Quite good.

I tried many other apps for CM
but they are not good enough as dlna
the only two apps that I miss from stock 2.2: dlna & dialer

Exactly!!! That's why I tried to get a functionally workaround for dlna on cm7, but without help of cm7 for defy devs (Eg @quarx, @epsylon3, @maniac103), I don't think it's possible...
they are so busy trying to make ics work on defy that this is just a not worthy problem for them...

Modified Flash still no Hulu.

Posted this in General but did not hear anything. I dont mean to spam. Just looking for a solution.
For those who have an android phone running froyo your probably aware that hulu had blocked their site from android users. Generally in the past there were methods around this which involved installing a modified flash.apk.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688054
Okay so I went ahead and removed the previously installed flash apk (use root explorer to do it) then I use adb to install it. The next step involved using the debug mode in the browser to make our seem like it is a desktop. Well when I type about:debug in my browser and go into the settings there is no option to change it to desktop. I only see these options:
So my question is, how the heck do we get hulu working?! When I used skyfire to and switched it to the desktop view, it said I didn't have flash installed. Any ideas?
update:
okay so i found a thread on XDA that seemed to get me a lil further but not where i wanna be.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...794512&page=12
this thread suggest that you just install the latest flash.apk and just replace the lib file they give u with the one that comes preinstalled. doing that gets me an error on hulu:
"Unfortunately Hulu is not supported on your platform. We apologize for any inconvenience."
Before, I just got an error saying that they are gonna bring hulu plus to android but thats about it. yes i changed it to desktop and even tried it on skyfire. nothing.
anyone?

Ive gone through the same steps ( own a nexus one and had hulu running fine) ran into the same issues on the tab. Hulu is on it, they dont want mobile browsing on the site without paying. Channelsurfing.net and atdhe.net work on the tab just fine.

How about using root explorer or some such and upload here as attachment. Not on market anymore
OK Here it is
Since I used this app just a day ago and did a nandroid, I restored, found it and here you go. Attached is the apk. Goes in /data/app. I use root explorer typically. I have not tested if this will install using typical file manager click on the file. For those that install the manual method of adb or root explorer, typically reboot after the install to have it work. Also is screen shot for correct permissions. Enjoy.....
sweet thanks

Just a reply back to all...thanks. Going to try to findo out why it was pulled from the market. It's a great app that does work well. I use powerAmp, which has an overkill equalizer, but listening with this minor plug in and it is really a nice addition, IMHO.

Google Music Player v3.0.1 For Galaxy Tab

Simply Install to your Galaxy Tab running on Gingerbread rooted.
If you want to replace your stock music player with this music player v3 just
install it first to your device and copy the MusicPlayer.apk to /system/app folder
delete or rename the existing file before you paste the new file.
Don't forget to change the permission.
Enjoy

You can download equalizer app or widget. I suggest you download from the Market the free app, EQUALIZER WIDGET. Just search it from the Android Market and you'll never regret it. Your tab will give all the bass and treble you need

i wanna go back 2 normal music player
For those outside the USA who want to try the google music streaming beta, just configure your browser using a USA proxy such as one of those found here, then go to the google invite page here and request an invite. I registered earlier today and got my invite within a few hours. All working fine here in the UK .
invite is not a problem
Sure, getting the invite was not a problem..
Installing the application through music.google.com is. When i click the link that sends me to market.android.com, and click the install-button it says that the application cannot be installed in my country.
Settings?
EDIT:
So turns out I'm dumb. After I got my Google Music invite, I can get to settings and all that. Thanks for posting the app!
----------
Hey all, so maybe I'm just having an off day, but I don't see anywhere to adjust the settings for this app. It installed perfectly and I renamed and overwrote the MusicPlayer.apk in my system folder.
Is there a settings menu in this app? Am I just taking crazy pills?

i know it's been a month since your post, but maybe this will help others in the future.
If you installed this simply by running the apk then it should have installed alongside your stock player. In this case all you have to do is search for the original Music Player under Applications to use it, and delete the new player with something like Titanium Backup.
If you installed this by overwriting the stock player, then install the MusicPlayer apk that i have provided below. But again, this will install alongside which ever player you have installed.
Hope this helps
EDIT: The music player provided is the stock player that originally comes with SGT roms
Thanks for the post.

[Q] [REQ] Video application from stock ROM

On the stock HTC Inspire 4G ROM there's a program in the app list called "Videos" and it compiles a list of all videos on the local device but also shows videos on DLNA servers on a local network. In some custom ROMs they don't have this application but I use it quite a bit.
Anyone have the .apk file for this or know which .apk file I should be looking for? I tried decompressing the system.img and data.img files and looking through there but I don't know which .apk file it would be or if it's even in there.
Any help?
It should be in system<app<video.apk
Ill extract it from the new uupdate one moment.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA Premium App
I looked in a stock ROM and a few variations of stock ROMs - ones with system.img and data.img or userdata.img files that I've had to decompress using unyaffs and some that were viewable from within WinRAR. Can't find Video.apk or Videos.apk. So I guess the question is that which of these files corresponds to the Video app that I'm looking for and are there any other files that it relies upon in order to function correctly.
I've poked through twopumpchump's stock rooted v2 ROM and I've come up with a list of possible apks for the video application - some because the name might have something to do with a video player, others because I just have no idea what they do lol. Can anybody chime in on what they do?
htcpushmedia.apk
mediaprovider.apk
myhtc.apk
pcscii.apk
pvmtpservicestart.apk
pvwmdrmservice.apk
wispr48_adroid22_signed.apk
I also ran a comparison looking at which apps were present in the stock ROM versus which aren't in the one I'm using now, Virtuous Unity and these are the ones that are not in VU but are in the TPC's stock v2.
htcpushmedia.apk
pvmtpservicestart.apk
wispr48_adroid22_signed.apk
I'm leaning towards pushmedia so I'm going to test it and find out.
Edit: Nope, not it.
Okay, so after looking for about two hours trying to figure out which .apk is for this application, I've run dry of ideas. Hopefully someone can help.
I haven't Been on a computer so as soon as I get on one. Ill look for you

Old thread bump I know but a XDA search for Videos apk brought this thread up.
I recently started using UberMusic as my main Music player, so I decided to disable the default Music player by renaming it to Music.bak, I then realized that it also removed the Videos icon from my Launcher as well. As soon as I enabled the Default Music player again by renaming it to Music.apk the Videos app reappeared in my Launcher. I'm assuming the two are linked together somehow or are really just the same app. I am no dev or anything so I hope this helps some of you with your problem.

CIFS on these ROMS?

Can someone please tell me how to get CIFS.ko or whatever it takes for CIFS support on any of the ROMs? Or if any of these already have it, which ones?
Do I just have to update to the correct Kernel?
Thanks!
what is CIFS.ko?
CIFS.ko is a kernel module that enables Windows Network access.
If you use CIFS Manager or Mount Manager then you can have network folders or drives mounted as local folders on the phone and all the apps can access them directly - video, music, file expl etc. I have it on my Note and it works great. I used to have a ROM on the Infuse that had it so I know its doable.
If you search around on XDA there is a bunch of info on it.
Already reported.. no one else needs to tell him that he should have posted in Q&A...
And I have never seen the rom that can do that... HOWEVER.. I do know that there is atleast one app that can do that.. I tried pushing a file to my phone once... but it didn't work for some odd reason. I don't know why.. but that was a while ago. They have probably fixed the issue since then.. either way..
And dropbox is nice for some of the light duty stuff.

This is not about pushing or dropping - its about Playing.
I have lots of huge video files on my network - I want to be able to play them in any player without thinking about anything except selecting the folder, the file and playing the file in ANY player. This is a standard ko module that should be included in all ROMs but for some unknown reason it is not.
And you totally posted in the wrong section... Q&A bro...

works and it's free
Airdroid is OK, but it is not even close to the same thing.
What CIFS does is allow PC shared folders and/or drives SHOW UP as drives on your device so that ANY app that navigates the folder structure can see all the files on those drives and access them the same as if they were local.
So any Music app can play mp3 from any shared drive - ditto for videos, docs etc.
