DSP Manger for HTC? - HTC Sensation

Anybody know of a good DSP manager that works with the Sensation?

Cyanogen nightly, save us now.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App

Rom crystal pyramid includes a DSP manager in the build. I'm now running a stock deodexed rom and after extracting the DSP apk from crystal pyramid, copying it to system/ app and setting permissions it seems to be working. I haven't had time to really test it out yet though.

Enjoy it flashable via recovery.

Thank you!work perfectly!that was exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks, but it doesn't 1. Improve the sound, and 2 doesn't give control of amp to get smaller volume increments, both lower and higher. I like to lower the amp in voodoo at night to get low level audio and decrease hiss.

Using player pro
And downloaded the dsp codec for player pro
Connecting to my car radio with bluetooth
And the sound is amazing!!
Great bass
Sharp hi sounds
Hearing more sounds than b4

Just download Root Toolbox and there's an option to install it from there. Works fine.

This works. But only on 2.3.4+

Agreed! The DSP manager in PlayerPro is amazing. the bass thumping gives me chills, and the sound is really chrisp and clear.

Did this, when I try to start the phone it won't go past white/green HTC splash. Anything I can do other than wipe/flash everything? Installed a new ROM today and was just gonna flash this and then do a backup. Darnit.

I think you are flashing new base rom, so the problem is with the old libs. You have just two choices - flash your rom ontop or replace the two lib files libaudio.so and libaudioflinger.so from your original rom into the DSP manager zip and flash it via recovery.

[Q] Audio/Equalizer

Is there a file/app to download for rooted users that mimics the DSP app for vanilla ROM's? I liked the option in Cyanogen to use the equalizer for the headset and phone speaker. Thanks
Anyone?

Surprised this has not been added to other roms, since will save battery and overhead when playing audio.
I found a method that worked for me in the Nexus One Development forum. I can't post links but search there for 'DSP-based equalizer".

(Works beautifully on Skyraider 3.1! Thanks!)
Thanks for the quick response. I guess there is no way to get to install in recovery then. The whole adb thing is confusing.

What are you talking about? You just download that zip, place it on your sd card (in a folder, I couldn't get it to find it if it were on the root of the card), and install it from clockworkmod recovery. Don't forget to do a nandroid first.
Look at number 3 on the link to the post. Can't find anything to download.

it should also work if you just place the zip on your sd card and use clockwork. (no guarantees, so make a nandroid backup like the previous post suggested)
will this work on a sense rom, or just vanilla android?
EDIT: installed zip from clockworkmod recovery and it's working on Virtuous 2.0.
it's nice to finally have an EQ and the dsp effects are kinda cool as well with headphones. kinda gives the illusion that you're listening to speakers in a room, not speakers stuck in your ears.
Okay, the problem was there was no zip using tapatalk. I went on the website and saw it right away. Thank you! Sorry for being a new b.

Working great for me. Did update.zip through clockwork recovery. Thanks for sharing.

How good is the EQ and will it sound ok using in my car? I would assume yes but just curious.

more eq bands would be very nice, but it works. the room effects sound pretty nice with headphones.

it seems that way. do a nandroid backup first just in case it's not stable or doesn't boot up.
Yes it works
I renamed to update.zip (probably unnecessary)
booted into recovery which automatically tried to install and failed (unsigned/verification failure)
went into clockwork
toggled verification check off
installed zip
What I really needed was a gain increase which this does not have. Got on a plane last week and could not hear movies on my dinc cause volume was too low. However this dsp manager does increase overall sound and it improves sound quality. Need to take another trip to try it out! Sweet!
Thanks egeorgia and xmunroe!!
I just did a nandroid backup with rom manager. Can I just place the zip without renaming it on the root of my sd card and choose "Install rom from SD card" with rom manager and update that way? I have the rooted stock lite 2.2 Sense rom.
Also, am I correct in thinking this mod is using the DSP hardware, so a more efficient and better sounding option than the audio apps with EQ's that are in the market? Astro player and MixZing are examples. They are making EQ adjustments through software and cpu overhead, while the DSP Mangager in this zip is doing it all through hardware. Correct?
I believe it does work as a gain. If you see the "db" to the right it actually goes into the plus. I did this and it actually distorted that frequency. Don't use the compression. It will make it quieter.

Just wanted to say thank you for posting the link to DSP Manager. It works great.
The room effects are awesome. Sounds great with my Westone 3's (I'm also a headphone geek).

Problem with RCMix Rom.

I love this Rom soooo much but their is a strange sound when talking to someone on the phone. It sounds terrible. What's wrong with it?

Yeah, install the audio fix (its in the MOD section in the questions thread for the ROM)...
Or try flashing the recommended radio?
The stock radio flash might solve the problem, but the audion on that ROM is tinny when playing media, as well as speaker phone. I'm trying the fix now will update shortly.
update the fix works beautifully, and takes about 2 seconds to install. No need for stock radio unless desired.
I had the same thing and installed the audio fix. No need for a different radio.

DSP-manager-like for TF?

Hi, I just installed custom rom for my HTC Hero which included DSP Manager, and the sound becomes brilliant. So my question is, are there any apps which will do as good as dsp manager for our tf ?

[REQUEST] DSPManager for ICS

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone has DSPManager running on ICS. I have tried the i9100 version but after flashing it the phone gets crazy after boot. What I really miss is a HW equalizer that takes advantage of the Android built-in EQ engine in order to save battery. Using BlueBerry Mod on stock XXLQ9 with ardatdat's 4.1 kernel.
Thanks

It doesn't support beats audio libraries. Use Voodoo + Miui player equalizer for best effects.

Thanks, but Beats is just SW stuff, can't customize the equalization, and is overrated, as those headphones by "dr dre" are.

Try TTPOD player. It has the Adjustable Equalizer.
Yep, would be nice to add DSP to ICS.
I love to see megabassbeats for ics. I see lots of positive comments about it. Seems much better than beats or srs. It has very good bass with crystal clear clarity. Unfortunately it works only in cm or aokp builds only. My ex phone galaxy 3 has it :banghead:
If anyone found or make a compatible one for sgr gets 20 thanks from me

Works but buggy. Seems to conflict with Voodoo. Also when changing songs volume bumps up without any obvious reason.

It seams that this mod targets the walkman player and there are problems using the default HTC player as you can read in the mod thread.

Can you please post my question in the viper thread? My post count ist to low for that.
