Alright guys, phone's finally charged starting to test it out.
I have a short looney toones clip that is half sbs and an .mkv. It shows in the video player and I can play it but get what would be the same as playing in media player on a PC, the two frames side by side instead of put together.
I tried changing the extension from .mkv to .sbs to see if the phone would recognise it as 3d but couldn't see the file then. Have searched the forum but couldn't see anything relvant. Any help appreciated. Thanks
You have to do it in the options
1. when the file is playing press the 2D button to make it 3d.
2. press the menu button while its playing or paused and click 3D formatter.
3, choose L/R if its side by side and it will show it in 3D, if its top bottom choose that option.
4 Press ok and it will be in 3D, you can use the 3D slider to make it how you want but I rarely mess with that and leave it all the way over the right.
Ah, top man.
Fyi, anyone that want's a video that really shows off the O3d then 'Looney Tunes Fear of Flying' is a fantastic HD video 3 mins long that just blew me away.
Finding this thing if fatiguing my eyes more than I thought it would though!
I was the same with the eyes give me some real eye ache for 3-4 days or so, but they soon adapt to it and it won't bother you soon enough.

Hi, I've recently been playing around with my gf's HTC EVO 4G. The other day she installed flash 10.1 from AuxLV's post:
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6569529&postcount=16
I curiously visited sites to see if video would work. To my amazement, veoh, myspace, wisevid, tnt.tv(Leverage), and many other flash videos work. I noticed people have had mixed results but I believe I've narrowed down the issues people have been having to, quite hilariously, a simple fix.
When you go to a site, for example veoh, and you click on a video. It looks like the video is about to come up but nothing happens. All you have to do is actually *click* on the video again and it will start playing.
Lol... so there it is... people haven't been "clicking" on the videos. Maybe out of fear that that tapping the video while it's loading would upset the delicate space-time continuum that holds the fabric of the universe together and make the video not come up, lol. Idk, but there you have it folks, start your *clicking*, and havezzza funs.
Oh also, I have used the dolphin browser hd and I think I clicked on the play button as well as the actual center of the videos. It'll look like a white box of nothing but when I tap the video it starts playing in magnificent quality. Good luck!
I admit I've been out of the loop on everything now for at least half a year, but I attempted to write a video player for Android utilizing libavcodec/avformat/etc. and get it to an at least workable state a while back and figured it might be of some fun or use to others. It has no real controls (you select a video, it plays, no pause/seek/etc.) but does allow you to do a multi-touch zoom on the video while it's playing - and that's worth something, right?
Although this should run on any modern Android handset, I'm pretty sure I hard coded the screen resolution for the Evo in there somewhere.
There were slight alterations to avcodec to get everything up and running, and obviously I've linked directly to a good bit of code - so if you'd like a copy of the source for the entire program, just ask. For now I'm putting the upload off since it's quite a large amount to upload
You can find the apk for it here: http://cjmovie.net/MediaPlayerX.apk
It starts out with the directory listing of /sdcard. Use the .. at the top to navigate to a parent directory, not the back button. You can pan the video around by using two fingers and not moving your fingers relative to each other. Scale similarly, although if you don't move your fingers apart fast enough it'll assume you don't want scaling and you'll have to try again.
Also opens still-frames (so jpg, png, etc.) and lets you multi-touch zoom around on them.
It's very crash happy, but I've never had it cause any problems other than needing to re-open the app. YMMV
VPLAYER
Thanks for all the hard work your putting into an app as development is essential to this community. I do believe though that there is an app on the market that is similar to what your working towards/looking for. It's called VPLAYER and it's free on the MarketPlace and i've yet to find a file type that it will not play. I use AndTorrent a lot and it has been able to play every download i've ever had. Anyways, hope this is what your looking for and if not sorry for wasting space on your post. PEACE
would like to see this in a finish product.
like someone else said above, vplayer in the market already plays most any file type (admittedly without the panning or zooming features). I don't know if it's possible, but what would really make your app stand out is if you could get it to see and play media files on a shared drive over a home network. Just a thought.
Kudos though - it must have been a pita to develop.
And subtitles in an MKV file for us anime nerds.

+1 on this.
I was hyped for Rockplayer and then realized it wouldn't do subs for the anime I watch.
The stock player on my Desire Z does play DLNA video (streamed from Mezzmo running on my home server) but its implementation kinda sucks.
You cant easily jump around to skip commercials, for example. I find myself tapping the bar... oops too far. Lets go back a bit... Dammit. A way to skip forward and backwards precisely 30 or 60 seconds would be most helpful.
It also irritating that it won't resume where you left off. And browsing the files on the server can be a pain too -- it often forgets where it is.
Anyone have any leads on a better video player that supports DLNA? Or willing to create one
Just found PlugPlayer at http://plugplayer.com/
Will have to wait till I can get home to try it though.
The problem I'm having is that I'm trying to get a 3D movie on my phone. Having read up I knew that I needed a 3D side by side MKV in order to be able to play it on my phone. Now the 3d MKV of Avatar (I know its not a fantastic film but it looks good in 3D) is just over 16gb in size.
So after further searching I found this http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/71354 ... which shows how to convert a file for the Evo3d using freemake video convertor. But thinking that they would be the same I followed this but obviously changed the screen size to 800x480.
Now this resulted in a file which was just over 2gb. But the thing is when i tried to play the video it played in 2 halves, so I tapped the 3D icon and it still played in 2 halves.
My question is how can I convert this down to a reasonable size and be able to play in on my phone in 3D... Just because I wanna show my phone off
EDIT: After a bit of further searching I've managed to find the answer by total accident... lol... All I needed to do was press the 3D button then press the menu button and pick the side by side option and viola it worked. Looks pretty damn good too
I had the same problem. You just need to tap a menu panel (On left on touch panel, next to home) and choose 3D Formatter. Then you should have some 3D formatting options
I only ask because this will be my third infuse, first one the screen broke, second one was stolen.
I like the infuse however I am not a fan of these problems:
Can't play youtube videos in the background
Youtube videos, or other flash videos don't just start playing by themselves
So I was thinking about possibly another phone, though I love this phone (screen, camera and all)
I was also thinking about trying to flash ubuntu (it would be a PC! at least this what I think anyways)
I was just wondering if there were better phones out there under AT&T for the money, not sure if my insurance would allow me to jump from one phone to another so easily... need to talk to the guys at the shop.
Thanks for any input
I don't know what you mean by YouTube does not start by itself but no android phone let's you play a video in the background. I would keep the infuse but get insurance on it.
What I mean by that is
On a PC (desktop or laptop etc... pad even)
A video starts playing by itself when you click the link, or refresh the page, this is not so
I mean perhaps the flash hasn't quite gotten there yet and I should appreciate the fact that I can even stream youtube videos in the first place
And the other part is, once I have this clicking, as soon as I minimize the web (press home) the music stops, same thing happens when I press the power button
(I like to look up a lot of music on youtube and listen to it in the background) while performing other tasks
thanks for the reply
Flash on Android is suspended when out of focus. There's nothing you can do about this, and it's unlikely that will change since Flash was discontinued for all mobile platforms.
flash is discontinued. It it still works and is useable just won't be updated

unfortunately this isn't just an infuse issue. Most phones i've tried won't let you watch youtube videos in the background, only if it's the main app open.
Get another Infuse. They're great phones and dirt cheap now. The only other one that's remotely better than the Infuse and the same size is the Skyrocket, but that one is $250 at the moment...and AT&T doesn't seem to be handing them out cheaply. Or you can drop down in size and get the S2...but that one is still $199 because it's a good seller. We should be getting our official GB release sometime in December so grab another Infuse and help decrease the surplus inventory.
