case for extended battery users? - T-Mobile LG G2x

is there any kind of case out there to protect the front side of the g2x when you have an extended battery? I need an extended battery so that i dont ever have to worry about charging during the day but the drawback is no cover if i drop it on the screen. Im not looking for anything fancy just a little something so that if the phone falls face down it wont hit the screen.

I was wondering the SAME EXACT thing! I would use an extended battery if they made cases for phones with them. Battery life isn't worth damaging my phone.

I felt that way until I went 60+ hours on a single charge with my normal usage. I just try to be careful an if it gets scuffed, oh well. A pretty phone with a dead battery is no use to me.

You can buy the Zagg invisible shield protector and only apply it to the front of the phone

[REVIEW] Naztech Extended Battery (2400mAh)

So I was told to make a review when I got this, cause people want reviews to see stuff and that ****. Now, onto the review.
Experience:
Arriving home one fateful afternoon, I noticed I had a package from Amazon. I opened up the box like a little fat kid in a candy store, and to my surprise, I didn't get half the item. Sent it back, got another one, all that fancy ****, and I opened it up. As initial impressions goes,
Smelt funny.
The back door is the same "rubber" material as on some of the Logitech mice, and the CR-48.
Battery had some weight to it.
The door cover is MUCH more ridgid than the stock one.
So I put it in and all that fun stuff, tried it out, and yeah. I ran the screen on for about 5 hours, from a 100% charged battery, and I dropped down to 75% in the end. I guess this is somewhat expected, considering the capacity of this battery is almost 2x the stock. Running superclean, standard kernel, the jist.
tl;dr
Pros:
Makes the phone feel more ridgid, stable, sturdy.
LONG battery life, as expected.
Nice grip to the phone.
Generally feels nice on the fingers; i.e they don't stick.
Raises the phone up a bit so the camera lense doesn't get scratched.
Cons:
Smells funky; probably the packaging.
Took me about 15 minutes to get it off. Snaps on so tight that it doesn't come back off easily.
My CR-48 material covering comes off easy, and this is the same material, so I'm worried its going to happen here as well.
This thing costs $24 as of now; if you have the money to spend I see no reason why not to get this, unless you have a limited supply of pocket space; then you're screwed.
Ask me in the channel for pictures, XDA won't let me throw em here.
I just took your advice. I hold you personally responsible if I don't like it. =P
Better battery + a less plastic-ey feel? I'm in.
is naztech a good brand? does the advertised mah match up to the actual?
thanks,

Basing my information on my time with the battery, I'd say its a good brand. They sell other things too, got a website; they mostly do apparel for electronics. Also, yes, the advertised product is exactly as it is.
thx for responding, I think ill buy it tonight.
I should have the battery in today. I'll post up some impressions when I do get it.

Dropbox changed the link on me; I have to use the temporary gallery cache pictures, they don't end with an extension and XDA allows me to put them up. Just ask me in the irc if you want pictures.
Okay. So I have the casing and battery and have had it on for about the last last 24 hours so I will share what I think so far.
Casing: I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the casing. Honestly, it feels quite similar to the "soft touch" casing that, is found on HTC phones. This is a major plus for me as I hated how plastic-ey the stock casing felt.
The casing is a bit thick though. Id say it close to doubles the thickness of the phone. This isn't as bad as it sounds though as the fascinate us a thin phone to begin with. Personally I don't mind the added thickness and it might even sit a bit better in my hand. My girlfriend however has small hands and dislikes the phone being bigger.
The short version: case feels great. The thickness may or may not bother you.
As for the battery, the life seems good but I'm going to give it a few days to calibrate before I give a final impression.

I went through my first day with this battery and I have the exact same impressions as below. The added thickness bothered me at first but I think I'm already starting to get used to it after only one day of use.
I unplugged my phone at 830 this morning and it's now just past 1030 for an uptime of over 14 hours and I have 51% left. This is just amazing considering my phone usually dies after 6-8 hours of use.
Final impressions: the best $24 I ever spent on any phone accessory I ever purchased!

So is the added fatness worth it? I know I wouldn't be comfortable with a huge lump in my pocket.
If you're gonna have such a huge ass on your phone, why not go with http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innocell-Extended-Battery-Fascinate/dp/B004GHMS0S/ref=pd_cp_cps_1

Just use it normally, condition it, etc.
I am going to look into getting a sweet battery, but not real familiar with them, what brands make batteries for these phones?
So this one can be charged using the phone? Or do you have to use an external charger?

No lump, just thicker (about twice), from the pictures. Just what I have been looking for. For $24, I've got to try it. Still at Amazon, same price, in stock, they say.
Just ordered it. I am used to paying $70 at Seidio for other extended batteries.

prob not, i know for my old Droid 2 there were hardly any cases that supported the moto extended battery (i think 1 did)
Since i still can't tell if samsung actually has an official extended battery they say that supports the charge, i can't see many manufactures making one.

I actually prefer the heft. Thought the stock slim battery is too light and weak. The extended battery is giving me 18-22 hours of moderate usage.

Hyperion now has a silicon skin that fits with their 3500mAh extended battery. The description says it should also fit with most other 3500mAh or 3600 mAh extended batteries.

Thanks. I just installed my new Hyperion extended battery yesterday and it is too slippery I dropped it once already. Out of necessity, I cut out a hole on the standard size case. It's doable, but ugly from the back, which I don't care since I only see the front side anyway. Lol.
I'm more interested in how the front facing buttons would operate and feel with the rubbery cover.
TIA

Not trying to start anything but that is just as "crappy" as batteries you mention.
Seidio is known for their overpricing, you do NOT get $74 of battery when you buy that, not even $60. For ~$20 I'd just go for the OEM 1800mAh slim battery from the Epic Touch....just kidding I'd get two extendeds for $19 shipped *NEW*
I actually just took out my seido for the first time in a long time. I'm so tired of the back coming off. Plus everyone looks at my phone like it's a mutant with that back piece. Feels so much thinner

i would do it you dont really need a protective case just get a screen cover and a battery with a new back plate i like the 3500mah the back plate i got with it is perfect a little bigger but so worth it you can get the cheap on ebay just look for good feed back. Mine works like a champ and if any thing happens i just use my old battery and back plate.
sucks that the cover wont stay on. I need something to extend my battery.

Otterbox & Extended Batteries

Hey folks,
I tried searching but could not find the answer. I am about to the buy the otterbox for my lovely G2. I love otterboxes but before I do, anyone know if an extended battery (like this one) would fit with the otterbox on it?
I assume not, based on prior experience the otterbox must be pretty tight but wanted to double check.
Thanks

Pysch. I just read that batteries' description and it seems it does not add any thickness to the battery. Has anyone proven/disproven this?
Also my original question still stands I think as I am still thinking of getting an extended battery. My G2 does last about 10 hours of normal use, but who knows when you might need the extra juice; better safe than sorry I think.
Anything that fits in our existing battery door will work with an Otterbox.
Seidio tends to work OK, though I prefer OEM batteries. HTC makes one for the EVO Design 4G that is 1520mAh and fits inside the G2 perfect as well.
Thanks.
And so is it safe to assume anything does adds even a little bit of bulk does not fit with an otterbox?

If the original battery door closes it should be fine. Any battery that needs its own battery door won't work with the otterbox.

Thanks for the heads up. I have ordered a cheap case from amazon but still desperately want to find an otterbox. Their cases are so amazing, it sucks there are so few out there for the G2. I am a mission now, seems every store online that lists it says its out of stock once you buy and send the money..
I wonder how good the battery life on seido batteries are, currently I'm using a 1520mah oem battery.

(Review) Zerolemon® Samsung Galaxy S5 8500 Mah Extended Battery + Rugged Case

Zerolemon® Samsung Galaxy S5 8500 Mah Extended Battery + Rugged Case
Alrighty folks i got my new Zerolemon 8500 Mah and rugged case i was impressed on the case design and battery, as you can see the in my pictures the battery is a bit more wider so therefore it will make the phone fell like a brick which i don't mind, and as far screen protector goes it's kind of on the cheap side for me. The case, that thing need a drop test for sure, to me it seems like it built to take a heavy hit or two lol. but after my first cycle i'll post my battery life.

Looks awesome. Question - do you HAVE to use the screen protector? I've never been a fan of those. Is it a separate piece you can put on if you want, or is it pretty much part of the case?

Wonder how the battery life is when you toggle Ultra power saving mode at certain times. I.E. while asleep, long drives, and periods where you know you wont be using the phone much at all. may increase the usage time by a decent bit. I get 2 days stock, when i toggle the Ultra power saving mode and i know im not going to use my phone much, i get 1 day with out using it so im happy right now but would love to have the ZL, if i keep my S5 long.
When arrived, I got 2 days 14 hrs with half battery. It was slow work day, so I didn't use the phone that much. Now it took about 8-9 hrs to fully charge it. So far, 15hrs with lots of transfer data from cellphone to car radio. with 67% left. I will post another update when I use it normal business cellphone.
