Does anyone know if any of the radios work with both Froyo and Gingerbread?
I'm using a multiboot manager which lets you boot between different ROMs (called BootManager by Init 2 Winit in the android market-sorry can't post links yet) and it would be nice to be able to use both without having to reflash the radio.
Thanks in Advance.
My limited understanding is...
Froyo ROM that uses "newer" RIL and GB rom can use the same radio.
Froyo ROM with "older" RIL (like release Froyo ROM) has to use older radio.
But I forget which froyo version started with the newer RIL...
The official MR2 radio will work with the MR2 Froyo build-1.70.605.0 (as well as the mr2 leaks) and gingerbread builds. Any froyo version before the MR2 leaks must use the radios from the ship build-1.12.605.6 or the MR1-1.13.605.7

I might have to try this out. I just rooted my phone on July 31, 2011.
My current software info:
Android Version = 2.2.1
Baseband version = 1.16.00.0223r
kernel version = 2.6.32.21 gb05544a / htc-kernel @and18-2#1
build version = 1.12.605.6 CL338893
software number = 1.12.605.6
Might have to try the MR2 Radio and a good ROM. Any recommendation on the ROM. I might try the Cyanogenmod
At the very least you need to update to stock MR2. Phone will work much better.

I hope you're not disappointed. GB is pretty much like Froyo.
It's easy enough to root your phone, try a GB build and then go back to stock if you want to do so.

Hi,
Few month ago I've upgraded my phone to this version: V10k(latest EuroOpen) V10K_00.kdz - and everything is working fine.
Now I see there is a newer version: Official GB V21A V21A_00.kdz. But some people complaining about problems with signal after update:

So my questions are:
1. If V10k is working fine, can I be sure that V21A will also work fine (I live in lithuania)?
2. There were a lot of writings about some basebands for V21A - will I need to install some additional stuff together with V21A?
Do not try the Gemen V21a there has been reported a lot of problem with signalling issues...try the new UK GB V21 ROM..

I have just installed the British GB baseband and I think it is the same...
Baseband version L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00
Kernel Version - 2.6.35.7+
Build number GRJ90.
Is this the same as the German version?

Did you ever compare the MD5 between the UK and Germen ROM, if this is the same then this is exactly the same ROM as that of Germen...

Sadly I didn't. I don't have the MD5 files and don't have the time to go back and sort it at the moment unfortunately.
Hopefully someone else will get the chance!

So is the UK gingerbread official out now?
Hm.... Ok, then it is better to wait more
This may be a dumb question, but I'm good at those! What is the main difference in the different versions of GB? 2.3.4, 2.3.5, 2.3.6 and 2.3.7? And then we have the JVU, JVT, JW1, etc.
I have been flashing ROMs for quite a while, 2 or more per week sometimes, but have never seen a real change in performance, battery life, etc. So what is really the biggest differences in these.
For me, Sensation 1.1 (2.3.4) is my all time "go-to". And I really don't see a drop at all from a 2.3.7 ROM.
Thanks to all the Devs for giving us there time and effort for all these ROMs.
2.3.4, 2.3.6, ect ....are firmware versions, updated the higher they go. UCKK1,2,4, UCKL2 are baseband firmware versions

I understand that, I was just wondering what the real difference is between them. Why is 2.3.6 better than 2.3.4? Just curious as to what the "improvements" are, to these newer versions

Fixes and improvments obviously, there not like apps and have to tell you what they were
Big Dogg Infuse I997 ZeusB5 ICS!
I seem to remember 2.3.3 having random battery drain. other fixes could be stability fixes. its all minor changes. no new features.
Someone who knows more can correct me if I'm wrong.
I dont think there are any specific changes to each build.
As each build is release and errors are discovered, the newer builds are fixes for the older ones.
Froyo 2.2.x
GB 2.3.x
HC 3.0, HC 3.1 and 3.2
ICS 4.0x - maybe 4.1 if more bugs are discovered.
There are some tweaks and improvement from 2.2 to 2.3
From phone 2.2 to tablet 3.0
etc
The J series are prob similar..later letters mean later release...bug correction

This is what Xbsall is using already is it not? The beta that Xbsall used originally made it to final release so makes no difference.

Gud news.....
p720 next hopefully . This does show that LG care, sorta...
Yeah , Lg cares about its home base, not so much everyone else
Well that's why i asked a friend of mine to get it from china second hand , mint condition for 200 euros
This phone is meant for korean people living in korea , all in one apps for south korea
XBS : i can give u sytem dump from my phone and probably you can make a Custom overclocked ROM and remove korean bloatware

ro.build.version.incremental=LGSU760-V30b-OCT-18-2012.4821E675
if its the same, its same ROM as V30B final Beta that i already use.
I can't update my su760 using LG tools and PC suite IV.
It always give me an error "There is no update for this phone"....
I'm from the philippines and i'm using sun cellular provider.
If I updated my phone to ICS will my cellular provider work?
