has anyone had any luck with any of the customs overclocking at 1834? My phone goes boom above 1792.
same here. it just reboots and reboots over and over again. untill i restore my backup.
Yup me too, what ROM are you running?
Same, seems that the last stable speed for my phone is 1728. Anything after that is questionable at best.
I am solid at 1.5 though, so im happy.
Okay, thanks for the feedback. What are you using to overclock?
I'm using leedroid v1.2 and flashed his new kernel v1.3 this morning and no reboots or nothing. it's been stable for me

Well first of all I am using Unity v4 Kernel, and setcpu to overclock.

Has anyone been successfull? i have tried every OC kernel and as soon as i overclock it just reboots my phone to a freeze (only way out is to either pull the battery or adb reboot). That being said the UV kernel runs fine.
Not sure if it has to do with the I9020A series.
But overall, each NS phone can tolerate its own OC levels. Some phones can tolerate only up to 1.2 GHz, some may be able to achieve 1.4GHz (or beyond). And for some of the unfortunate, some aren't able to OC at all.
Thus this post. I hope my phone is'nt the issue. it would be nice to push a little bit more out of it if i needed it down the line.
I over clocked mine to 1.4 and it was fine, I leave it at 1.0 tho, this friggin thing is quick enough for now.
hmm how do you check your radio. I'm gonna try that as a last resort. And i can set mine as 1.4 but as soon as i run a resource heavy task (n64) my phone locks up and reboot freezes.

Not sure why a radio would affect your ability to OC but...
Menu -> Settings -> About Phone -> Baseband Version
the last 3 are what you want to look at "JK8/KB1/KB3"
List all the kernels you've tried. The best in my opinion is Netarchy's 1.3.0.3-CFS kernel using SetCPU
Try intervals of 1.2 GHz too. My phone can only go up to 1.2 GHz
Yeah actually i had tried all of the bfs kernels. I just succeeded in getting Netarchy's 1.3.0.3-CFS kernel. And i can run up to 1.4 . Maybe the brain fk scheduler does not play nice with 9020a's

awesome. I just prefer CFS because with BFS the boot animation doesn't show, and it bothers me.

i flashed the BFS first, and lost my boot animation. Then i switched to the CFS, and the boot animation still didnt appear.
Any ideas as to how i can get it back?
Also, is there anyway to recover the stock kernel? I'd like to have it handy to be able to go back to it.
thnks

Wipe dalvik and cache. Flash a rom that flashes stock. Like cm7 but netarchys is so much better than stock
You can also get ogdobbers which is stock + ext4 + voodoo.

Hey everyone,
This is an off topic question but does anyone know what happened to the 1.6 OC support for Netarchy? I loved to see the absurdly high quadrant scores and instantaneous screen transitions.
Thanks,
Justin

you're better off asking that in the netarchy kernel thread in dev forums.
netarchy could answer that... not a lot of phones can tolerate 1.6 GHz Oc
Thanks, yeah i felt a little bad posting the question here. Though ive been an avid user for a long time i have never posted so i didnt have sufficient rites to post in the decelopment section yet : (

yep! low on bugs and freezes but no voodoo or bln.. dammit
I added kernel tweaks from raspdeep's I9000 OC and got our bali kernel to OC, I'm running at 1.2 Ghz right now. I haven't tested this in terms of battery life, but there's a good chance your battery life may be less. So use with caution.
This 1.2 Ghz OC feels smoother and faster than stock, and better and more stable than 1.28Ghz. If you tried the 1.28 and gave up, try this 1.2, it's much better. I removed the link to the 1.28Ghz kernel because it was causing too many problems for everyone, and actually being slower due to freezing and overheating.
Battery life and stability not guaranteed
Use setcpu to control your cpu speed.
Credits to Dr. Honk for bali original, and raspdeep for OC source.
THIS IS FOR KG2 ONLY!
I have flashed this both on stock and on a custom KG2 rom, they both worked.
link removed because it was unstable - 1.28Ghz
Updated 1.2 KERNEL: http://www.multiupload.com/3QPMQY476F

I provide no guarantees that this will work, make a backup before you try this!
This was really only made for all the kids who kept asking for an OC kernel.
It has been suggested that the 1.2Ghz kernel may be more stable, so I would suggest trying that one instead of the 1.28Ghz kernel
Flashing right now . You beat me too it ;p

Flash through CWM as usual, I've tested flashing it and it worked fine for me, so it should work for you.

I'll try adding in UV mods later, but I have to go home from work for now.
Remember once you add UV to check the voltage . Just a reminder & The kernel flash's but it auto-reboot's & then stay's stuck on SK4G splash screen .

Well it works on mine, so it's not broken entirely, so something has to be different here. pulling the link until its more tested.
Now that I think about it, the issue might have been that you were all on rfs, rather than ext4
if you can get back to CWM you can just flash the old kernel
Ok reflashed old kernel. All is well.

Ginger clone and old bali kernel

Thats why. Gingerclone is KD1, this is for KG2 only.
ill update

Well, ths is cool, whats not cool is my comp wont even recognize my phone now..even in dl mode. at all. lol. yes..lol.
However im more then sure ill fix it no prob. this is pretty sweet though that its oc'ed now
hey I'm rooted on revolver 3.9.3,but when I go to download a kernel or a theme on the app it only downloads 576kb of it. any suggestions?

gnufabo suggests stock but i think blades 2 is the best
With the latest firmware update, all custom kernels have become unstable, including blades. People have reported their TF locking up with custom kernels. The only custom kernel that isn't unstable is clemsyn v21. Unfortunately, there's a battery drain of the dock with this kernel.
For now, until the kernel devs figure out what the hell is going on, the best thing for yout to do is use the stock kernel.
I havent had issue one with Roach's overclock kernel set at 1.4

This is certainly good news. What's happening is that different people are reporting different results.

I think blades 2 is OK haven't had problems but I'm just gonna go back to stock ;-)
Using Prime v2.0.6 kernel since Monday and it is stellar. No problems whatsoever. 3300 on Quadrant too!
I've actually been just fine with the Blades 2 kernel... No issues whatsoever - not even any excessive battery drain. OC'd to 1540.
Using QuikWiz with whatever kernel is included with that ROM (Da_G's, IIRC), I pretty much can't OC at all. I'm stuck at the default 1566MHz, the closest bump up at 1728 is too high and my phone crashes. I just flashed TPCv3 which also uses Da_G's kernel and came to the same result - can't OC past 1566MHz.
Firstly, is there anything I can do to make my phone stable at 1728MHz? What do you guys have your phones set to?
Quadrant/AnTuTu screenshots welcome.

Stock ROM here.. run 1728/1782 all the time.. no issues.. Don't have any screenshots, but get 3900+ quadrant, 6700+ Antu and 7800 CFbench. No sod's.. get 24+battery life .. its lovely.
I don't know which kernel should I flash and I really don't know what is the best stable kernel out there ?? I already tested UC Kernel v9 and it seems it's not stable..
You can delete this post if you find this is as un-useful ..
Here and there, there are only a few kernels. Bck kernel/Uc kernel/vurrut kernel. Don't overclock too much, at Max about 1.2 ghz as some phones go into random reboots beyond that frequency. Currently on bck kernel beta 13, but I change kernels quite often
Cheers

I'm currently using vurrut v5 uc. It's a very good battery saver and very stable.
try BCK...dont oc though....its stable and gives good battery life

Jeah, my phone suddenly reboots when I overclock my phone to 1.35Ghz on UC Kernel.. Not sure why ..
Anyways, is BCK stable enough ?? I might switch to BCK.. I heard from some people that I can't use NoFrills or SetCPU to overclock, only on Terminal .. is this true ??

Very very stable. Hasn't randomly rebooted on me ever. I do make sure that cpu no frills keeps it to 1.2 ghz and below though.

Ok thank you kabayan for your time. I might try it soon hehehe
OK well bck kernel default is overclocked to 1.2ghz so you can use 1.2 ghz by setting it through no frills. However if you wish to change the frequency at each opp(meaning steppings), then use the commands given in his thread.
Cheers
