Just got tired of waiting a solution for sim unlock my D2G - Droid 2 Global General

that's it I just got tired of waiting a solution for sim unlock my D2G, so ...
any of you, D2G owners, US citizen with a VZ contract, is interested in exchange your previously sim unlocked D2G with mine?
mine is blue, zero scratches, and no dust at all anywhere (it has been keept stored in the box most of the time).. ESN clean off course (i'll give you my IMEI so you can check with VZ)
the idea would be to send you mine (without battery and SD card and factory reseted off course)... I pay the shipping... you receive mine, and send yours to me (same conditions off course) .. yeah I pay that shipping too ...
so you get a mint one, and I receive yours sim unlocked... don't care at all about color.. and even I'm open to receive a phone with some usage marks... this is not scam, I'm just a guy tired of waiting to make his phone work ..
regards
Victor

Solution is easy
For me solution was easy. I pain 19 PLN (about $6,60) for an unlock code. I;m using my D2G in Poland and it works great.

Obviously the unlock codes sold on the 'net didn't work for walderrama; so I'm not sure why are you sharing your positive experience with that here, Gibol666.

yeah indeed I've payed 4 times for codes that didn't worked (actually each seller promised that their codes will work as charm, but all 4 gave me the same codes)
well, I see that there's not enough "interest" in help me ... but what about if I add USD $50.- to this "favor"... I'll send it trough paypal as soon as I get the tracking number of the shipping .
regards

You can only unlock a phone that hasn't had unlock code altered by Verizon. With D2G it is a hit or miss. Some unlock (like mine), others do not.
All online unlockers gather their database from Motorola. Hence providing same codes. For "altered" phones, only Verizon can give you the right code. Unfortunately...

Free sim unlock

I'm amazed by the number of people who don't know this...
All US carriers to sell LOCKED handsets are REQUIRED by LAW to provide unlock codes upon request.
All you need to do is call the carrier the handset is locked to hand request the unlock code. They will ask you for the IMEI and provied you with the code. If they give you any heat or static about it, just tell them that you KNOW they are required by law to give you the code.
The only way they can refuse is if the IMEI for the handset is tied to an account that still owes money, but if you purchased at retail pricing and never had an account, or currently have an account in good standing, they cannot refuse.
STOP PAYING FOR SIM UNLOCKING AND CALL THE CARRIER!
I have NEVER paid for a SIM unlocking service and am currently using the latest NRG energy rom on my unlocked AT&T FUZE.
SIM Unlock
I don't think what you're saying is true. I have searched for any trace of a US law requiring SIM unlocks an haven't found one. I did find this on wikipedia:
Singapore is the only country that forbid outright SIM locking and contract/phone bundling.
The US and UK don't have any SIM locking laws, but American and British carriers usually offer unlocking codes voluntarily.
Many countries listed below have some form of simlocking laws specifying the period of simlocking and the cost of obtaining unlocking codes. However their effectiveness may be questioned when we look at the iPhone's worldwide distribution practices. The worldwide launch of the iPhone has definitively shattered numerous myths about whether some country has laws against SIM locking.

I second the OP here. It's true but you can only ask your cell phone provider to unlock a phone you bought from them (and not from a friend or fleebay), you have an active contract in good standing, you are atleast 2-3 months into the contract and so on. Basically if they sold u a locked phone, you can demand an unlock.
It sucks to run the whole nine yards, and then pay the same amount of money for the security unlocker. I really wish Olipro could have a security unlock only service.
If you get your carrier to unlock your phone is that when you can flash a Radio from a different device?

Nope...subsidy unlocking is NOT the same as security unlocking.
actually US carriers are required to give you the subsidary unlock code for your device (excluding iPhone and cdma/gsm hybrids although technically, not offerring it for the iPhone is illegal) but only if you are going out of the country and don't to want to use their service or pay their fees since it does not directly interfere with their service.
ATT will give you the code in a couple days if you lie and say your going away for a week or two.
Also that wikipedia article is wrong because phones in Belguim cannot be opertor locked either. Caused a fiasco with the iPhone.

D2G Unlock at VZW Support

I bought a D2G at eBay. I love it but I live in Hungary and I can't unlock it. Can anybody unlock it for me in USA by VZW Support if I pay every cost of unlocking (and plus money for helping)? It has clean ESN. I can send it to USA if it's required.
Please somebody help me!

You can buy a TurboSim off ebay item #200539432676 and it should work.
TurboSIM
Thank you for your advice, but I read it has few problems with D2G, so I want to unlock it by VZW.
send it back to d seller to unlock it
I tried it
I asked the seller about that but she refused it.
The device has to be active on a Verizon account that's in good standing. And the line it's unlocked on won't be able to unlock another phone for 10 monhts. I don't think you'll get too many takers on your request. TurboSim is probably your best bet?
Unfortunately
Unfortunately, the situation is bad. But I really pay extra cost for unlocking so if someone can help me to take extra cash, please send PM me.
I think I will order a TurboSIM, it's very cheap so I can try it.
Anyway, I got from UnlockCarrier.com 3 codes. 2 codes of them are 8-digit and they're absolutely wrong. The third one is 10-digit and the phone is thinking so much if I type it, but then the phone refuses it. Has someone got experience about 10-digit code?
The code should be 8 digits.

did her posting indicated the phone is unlock n can be use world wide?
or it is locked phone?
ask her to call on ur behalf to get the unlock code, provide her with d IMEI n IMEID
I can help, pm me..
Thanks guys
haroldz123: I ask her but she refused it again but she said she can refund my money if I send back the phone.
wirelessprofessional: I sent a PM!
"A hope? A chance!"
Hi everybody,
wirelessprofessional can't help me but he tried it (Thanks for it).
But the seller wrote a message to me on eBay if I want to send back the phone she refund my money. I was thinking so much on this offer, and I want to accept it but she wrote another message. In message she wrote that she may can help because she started to work part-time at VZW.
Can someone tell me, would it work if a verizon smartphone user got the esn for the phone, activated it on their line online for matthewKER while he still has the phone, then call verizon from some land line or still active phone and ask them to unlock the phone for a valid reason, then get the code, give it to matthewKER, he unlocks it, then reconnect your own smartphone back to your verizon line? I assume he wouldn't get service or be able to call or anything given that the phone is in hungary, though if it can that's the only risk I see in doing this.
Very interesting...
This situation is very, very interesting... After I sent a video to wirelessprofessional about my bad codes to refund his and my money (because he got same wrong codes), he sent an e-mail. He wrote in the e-mail that he activated my phone on his account and he got an unlock code from VZW. And there is surprise: this code doesn't work, too.
But it isn't end of the story... The seller is also trying to take an unlock code from VZW (she said she works part-time at VZW now) and she wrote me different things than wirelessprofessional. She wrote that she need the pre-installed SIM-card number to unlock method, and today she wrote that the assistant at VZW Global Support wanted to do this method step-by-step with her, but the phone is in Hungary so she ask the assistant how does she do it at home, but assistant said her that call him again if she can use the phone while she speaking on the other phone.
My advice if you want to buy D2G outside USA: DON'T TRY TO BUY LOCKED D2G. To buy an unlocked one with bad ESN is better choice than buy a locked one with clean ESN...
ben7337: Thanks for your post, I hope someone can unlock my phone finally.
same problem, who can help pm please
Santiss, I had a similar problem and ended up selling the phone and buying and unlocked one. I een got the unlock code straight fro ma Verizon Wireless representative and it still didn't work. I initially thought it was because I had to be within reach of the Verizon network in order for the code to work but that was not the case; the code simply didn't work.
My advice? Just get rid of the phone (sell it, return it...) and get one that's already unlocked. The unlock codes are apparently a matter of luck and not a safe bet.
I have unlocked two D2Gs myself online. I know of 3 others that were unlocked using the same site. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS SITE! I just have used them myself for several different phone models and they always work perfectly.
One of my D2Gs is a very recent new model, the other one was an early phone, both unlocked fine.
I strongly suggest that people try this site before giving up.
mobileunlockstoredotcom
I think it was around the $10USD mark the last time I looked. I got my codes within an hour.
Both my D2Gs are used worldwide on GSM networks and are behaving well. I just did the edit of the radio image that should remove the band locks when I am next in the US in a couple of weeks, that should be interesting!

I do not understand I do not buy the unlock code....

I have a D2G.
I do not understand I do not buy the unlock code.
I may have to be unlocked by code 16 numbers?

I have sent your details over the accounts team who will send you a refund. Although normally quicker please allow up to 7 days for the refund to get back into your account.
Once again I apologise for not being able to get the correct code for your mobile. Your only option may be your network operator or a local shop who can unlock via a cable.

Don't post your MEID or IMEI publicly, people can do all sorts of nasty things like report your phone stolen with that information.
help me ........
So you got the refund from TheUnlockShack.com?
Since most of them can give money back if they cannot find your code. You can try another unlock website or find on eBay. I got my code from an eBay seller.
Did you make sure you gave the correct IMEI, not MEID?
You can obtain your IMEI number by pressing *#06# on your mobile phone. Try it.
Note: that will only show the IMEI if the phone is in GSM mode. Maybe in Global mode too, but definitely not in CDMA mode.
IMEI is available under Settings, About phone, Status.

Scammer Unlock Codes http://unlockcellphonecode.com/

Hi guys,
As you know, Nokia Lumia 900 AT&T can be unlocked for free calling at AT&T. I paid for this guy in http://unlockcellphonecode.com/ for an unlock code for Nokia Lumia 900 AT&T. Now, I've gotten unlock it for free My Nokia Lumia 900 AT&T, but this guy I emailed it for a refund, NO ANSWERS from him. So, like a advice, Dont buy code here http://unlockcellphonecode.com/ .and find a good page to unlock your devices.
Thanks!!
If you were stupid enough to pay him for the unlock code then that is your problem. You paid him for a service, he delivered - doesn't give you the right to ask for a refund and doesn't make him a scammer either..:banghead:

All Unlock codes are digitally delivered via email. Customers are Instantly emailed a username and password to submit their phone info (imei, model, the service provider the phone is currently locked to, etc) directly to the unlock servers immediately after purchase. When the server has generated the unlock code, it will automatically be emailed back to you using the email address you provided when you submitted your phone information. Please make sure to check your junk/spam folder before emailing support.
All unlock codes are guaranteed. If we can not generate your unlock code or offer a software unlocking solution we will refund you.
Due to the nature of unlock codes, video proof will be REQUIRED from anyone claiming an unlock code does not work.

[Q] SIM unlock if radio is changed?

Hi guys, I just discovered when I moved to Germany that my phone is carrier locked.
I inserted the E-Plus carrier SIM and it's asking for a network unlock code.
I'm using Strike X 1.0 ROM, the device is rooted and I can upgrade the radio, thus I was wondering if changing the radio on this device will remove the carrier lock (It's locked on Vodafone Romania).
I saw different methods to unlock the SIM for Desire, HTC ONE S but none for HTC Desire S (Saga).
If there is another way to unlock the SIM, please let me know (asking the carrier for unlock code is not a solution, I'm 100% sure they'll say I can't have it).
U can unlock your device only by unlock code
I paid for unlock code service (really small fee ~ 2$ ), the guy was very helpful, I got the code in 20 min.
The problem is that the code does not work, he made me make a video with the phone IMEI and send it to him. After all this hassle, I was refunded because the code did not work, he told me that any other service will provide me the same code.
The only thing left now is to try a local gsm service and see how much they charge for this, if not, I'll get my own XTC clip.
Will keep posting about this since there might be other people searching for the same thing.
If this might help anybody, this is the code I got for my IMEI:
HTC IMEI:358967046266134
UNLOCK=70313662
After entering the code, I keep getting Incorrect password

If it doesn't work, then it doesnt work ... but never post your IMEI online unless you want your phone cloned
Ok, just an update on this.
Got a quote from a local shop in Germany (the only one around here who said it was able to unlock it) and they said 65 EUR! That's the price of the phone in a decent condition! And this was not it, they said it will be done in... just 2 weeks!!!
Dropped the idea, decided to grab my own XTC Clip for ~ 70 EUR waited for it to be shipped for like 3 weeks but I never got it
Finally when I went back home for a week I went to a local GSM service and the guy there unlocked it for 30 RON ~ 7EUR
Indeed it seems Vodafone Romania adds some extra lock to the phone, he got the same code as I did and it did not work for him either.
He phoned a guy that he knew from Vodafone Romania and that guy explained him the extra lock system, etc. Asked me to come back in ~ 30 minutes because the whole procedure will take a while. When I came back my phone was fully functional and unlocked. If anyone has any idea about the extra protection mechanisms that certain carriers add please detail, I find this outrageous.
Also another thing that I find interesting is that even if you buy a brand new phone from Vodafone, it comes carrier locked with a warranty of 24 months, and if you ask for the carrier lock to be removed, not only they ask for ~ 25 EUR but also this implies warranty void ?!?! It's just a stupid and outrageous method to keep the customer using their services!
