[Q] Reverting back to old Market - HTC Inspire 4G

Okay new ROMS now comes with the newly released Market. One method of reverting back to OLD market was to Uninstall Update in the Manage Applicaton section, but now even though I do it, it still stays on the new Market. How can I revert it back to old market?
I find the New Market is really laggy, random closes, and errors.
ROM: CoreDroid 7.1
Kernel: LeeDroid 3.2.0 BFS
Device: Inspire 4G

If I'm not mistaken the market updates itself when you open it so there is a good chance even if you find a way to downgrade to the old one it will just upgrade you again anyway.

Pull the vending.apk from a Rom with the old market and push it to system/app if your using root explorer u will probably have to set permissions. Easy peasy. Then everytime it updates itself just do the undo update in manage applications
edit: here ya go you may be able just to click on it and install it like any other app but if that dont work just drop it in system/app, change permissions to rw-r-r and reboot

Superuser vs Superuser Permission what's the difference?

I han be just rooted my Evo and everything is running great, thanks to there help of people on this site. My next question is I used Unrevoked to root my phone then went back and installed Amon Ra instead of clockwork. What I am wondering is unrevoked installed Superuser Permission but I see other people using Superuser. What is the difference I know they do the same thing. I was wondering if it was the same app just an updated version or something totally different.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Basically, there's no important difference. Everybody who had root uses it or they're dumb.

I know what both apps done that was not the question. I wanted to know what the difference between them were. I was just wondering if the one on the market was a newer version our are the two apps totally different. I agree that you need to have that kind of app installed for permissions to su.

One on market by ChainsDD is new and updated and one with ninja is older and out dated.
Sent From My HTC Evo 4G On The Now Network From Sprint Using Tapatalk Pro!
Typically Superuser is the app that indicates you're rooted. When you use a root access app, like rom manager, it needs super user permissions, basically access to the root files so it can operate.
It's there any reason that I should remove "Superuser Permission" and install "Superuser".
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
You can use an app like root explorer to delete the old Superuser Permissions app. Then you can flash or install from market the Superuser app by ChainsDD.
Reason for this would be that the app by ChainsDD is newer and updated quite frequently, where as the older app is a dinosaur. Not that it doesn't work, but if you have an issue with it your SOL as updates to it have ceased.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
So the Superuser Permissions asp is what is causing the Superuser app to not install.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Dunno. But I would definitely get rid of it and upgrade to ChainsDD's version. If you Google Superuser you should be able to find the thread that has a flashable version. Delete the old Superuser Permissions app, boot into recovery, and flash the the new one.
Should work.

Yeah I found ChainDD on here and downloaded his zip file. Went to recovery and installed it updated it through market and everything is running. Thanks every one for the help.

Installing new Android Market

I searched but couldn't find a thread. So can someone tell me how to install the new Android Market on my unrooted Evo?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
I am on MIUI, and to my knowledge they didn't have the latest version in their recent release. Last night I believe mine updated automatically. I could be wrong, but I personally didn't manually update anything. I woke up this morning and it was updated to the most recent version. You may turn on your autosync and everything to see if it does it automatically.
If you have the apk. Uninstall any market updates from settings and use adb to push the new apk to /system/app/Vending.apk. this will overwrite your original vending apk so you might want to back it up first.

Hi,
I'm totally new to this and I just got the Sensation 4G, how do I go about installing this? Thanks.
Go to the link above and download the .apk file. With a file explorer, go to the file and click it. It will give you two options. Choose the one to open in market or as app. Then just click install and it should be done.
Btw, works like a charm. Thanks!
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
when i try to install it, it tells me its a system file and asks if i want to replace it or cancel. when i hit ok then install it says application not installed.
I dont see the option to open in the market. I dont use es file explorer usually astro. any recomendations?
That's odd. You can use Astros. After you click on the file, choose open app manager. There should be an install button on the top left. Once clicked, it should just install. Sorry, I didn't get the system file message.

I was having the same problem. I just downloaded the apk on my computer, put it on my sd card, and installed it through Astro File Manager. That should work.
If you can't install it try the version I have attached. Instalation is done via Root Explorer - copy the apk from sdcard, go to /system/app. delete HTCCamera.apk and HTCCamera.odex, paste new camera apk, set permissions to rw- r-- r-- and try to install.
Camera works, but shutter button is misaligned, selecting HDR or burst in scene menu causes FC, HDR and macro is doing nothing (I think). Panorama works.
Downloaded the apk for non-rooted devices and installed using root explorer and works just great. Thanks for the share!
Thanks for the share!!! Wors great on my end
Works perfectly for me too! Thanks.
Installed it..... but this gets installed as a seperate software, and it doesnot replaces the stock camera app or it doesnt show in the scenes mode in the stock camera app.
Is this happening only with me????

[App] Hulu Plus for HTC Sensation

How to install:
(Thanks to ebatr8)
Download the zip from here, unzip the folder and copy all three files (com.hulu.plus-20110723-192253.properties, com.hulu.plus-20110723-192253.tar.gz, com.hulu.plus-bcc9ed16094d067c4c1f3ceb8851f886.apk.gz) into your Titanium Backup folder on your SDcard. Once all three files have been copied start up Titanium Backup and make sure you refresh your app list in case it was running in the background. Go to backup / restore and look for the Hulu Plus 1.0.116 app and click on restore -> App+Data. Once you have installed do not open, let it go back to Titanium Backup to finish copying over the data. Once complete you can exit TB and start running Hulu Plus.
Known bugs and workarounds:
(Thanks to Gunkk)
Problem : I am getting a Buffering.....it appears you are having network issues.
Fix: Check to make sure you do not have AdFree running, if you do turn it off and see if that fixes the problem
(Thanks to robotnoize)
Problem : If you are running a ROM that already comes with AdFree you will get the buffering issue.
Fix : Reinstall AdFree and then disable and it should work fine (Confirmed working with Android Revolution)
Download File:
Link provided by ebatr8: Hulu Plus 1.0.116 verified to work on HTC Sensation
The apk works to browse, but you'll get an unsupported device message as soon as it boots. Nobody has cared enough to modify build.prop or the apk itself (which I don't encourage) since it came out.
You need to use titainium back and restore this app with its data then log in to your account and you should be good to go, it came from the Droid inc 2 forums, unzip and put into the titainium back up folder after you have installed titainium backup and gave it root permissions
http://db.tt/I6QiDqj
It is a backup from a hulu plus supported phone since its already checked for compatibility it lets use it no issues

Which is one of the great things about a development community, especially a great one like XDA. We don't have to wait for "THEM" to support us, we have each other to support "US".

It will be in /system/app named something like LatinIme.apk or LatinImeGoogle.apk. Make extra sure you make a backup of it first just in case. Then, I don't think you can install it like a normal app so you'll probably have to place the new one in that directory, set permissions to rw-r--r-- change owner to 0-root and group to 0-root then reboot. Try that, and let me know now it goes.

Yeah I copied and backed up the latin Apk and pasted the Motorola keyboard and changed.the permissions but when I try to change the ownership the root browser force closes. Btw I mean the stock Motorola keyboard not the stock android keyboard

Should be the same whether Motorola or android since it's a system app. Which root browser are you using? I've always used Root Explorer, but I've read other posts by people using ES Explorer as well.

I don't see it either. Weird because I have seen several people on here using it for this type of thing. Sorry, but I'm at a loss. I know Root Explorer works, but I don't know about buying it for just one thing. Maybe an ES Explorer user can chime in and help because now I'm curious.

I might just purchase it and try to return it later. I got the keyboard to show up but it fcs each time I try to use it. I guess I need to set up ownership still.
Edit
I guess ill just wait for the devs to update root browser lite for a fix for the ownership. Thanks though
