Has anyone gotten an OBD solution to work on the Sensation? I like the features of torque and would probably use this app. I just want to find an OBD reader that works on the Sensation. I've heard HTC and Samsung implemented the blue tooth stack in a funky way and not all devices work.
I use Torque on mine. It connects via bluetooth with no problems.
Welcome to XDA cavorn! I see that was your first post, so I'll take it easy on you.
Please read all forum rules, stickies, and announcements.
There is a Q&A section for the sensation, so questions like this should be asked in that forum. It's a good question too. I'm wondering that myself.
Again, welcome to XDA. I'm sure you'll find a lot of help here.

P.S. Don't forget to use the Search button early, and often.
Elm327 off of eBay. Works perfect.
Oh, hardware wise???
I bought a USB/Bluetooth unit from Scan Tools (scantool.net)
Works with my Laptop and Phone
Thanks guys. I have a scantool.net USB OBD reader and I haven't had any problems with it so if the bluetooth one works on the sensation I'll pick one up.

Hello,
I am new to this forum community. This is actually my first post ever.
I own the cingular 8125. I recently aquired a bluetooth stereo headset, hoping to utilize media options on the go. I bought the Southwing sa505, which seems to be a great product, except for the fact that it will not work with my phone. I have contacted Cingular/att, Southwing, and the HTC people. Everyone knows that I need the A2DP hack, but nobody can tell me where to get it.
I've done my own searching using the various engines, but all I can find are waves and waves of forums-no actual links to any type of file. If you guys can help me resolve my frustration in this matter, then I will become a financial contributor.
I am so tired of dead ends, please try to give me a response, whether you can help me or not.
Thank you for your time,
James Coyle

Welcome to the forum.
Usually people here tell n00bs with such questions to keep searching but since you offered us money...
Just kidding!
Seriously though:
Please read the first page of this thread. You will find a download link, full instructions and even screen shots. Though it is not specific for your device it is for very similar model (just no keyboard) and should work just fine for you. (As far as I know this is the only patch available).
In the future I recommend you post questions specific to your device in the Wizard subsection (that is what your phone is called here).
P.S.
This hack is a ripoff from another phone. No official solution exists which is why any of the companies you contacted couldn't help you.

Hi,
I wonder why HTC' sound enhancer doesn't work on bluetooth, precisely where I need it the most. Is there a technical reason? Is this something hackable?
BTW: Did some searching about this and found nothing. Curiously one guy asking the same got his thread closed by a mod in circumstances that there's no thread that answers this question. I'm writing this just in case it happens to this thread.

I agree, no clue why HTC blocked functionality over BT, but don't believe there's any work around short of maybe someone hacking the app to make it work. For that you need to find a willing developer who has the skills needed though.
Yeah...
I'll check if I can ask this in an HTC official forum (if any?)
Nah, could not find anything on HTC site.
Anybody knows if there's a work around for this limitation?
Ok, time for a thread revival. Apparently this is still an issue, at least for me. So, has there been any headway on this?
Bump for an answer.
+1
I'll actually enjoy a lot using EQ function with BT! To my mind it is the most missing option in wp7.
Sent from my custromized HD7 using XDA App
And again.....
Hi, I got a BT headset for Christmas and I was very disappointed that I ite can use the SRS when I listen to music. The bass is very good when I connect the 3.5 mm jack on the headset, but I want to use bluetooth function with SRS.
does anyone know if you can change this in the registry editor?
I have searched, without finding answers
i swear i thought i saw a thread about howto turn on the htc sound enhancer all the time but i cant seem to find it.

you seek something more? I really want to use srs with my bluetooth headset and I can not find anything when I search
I picked up a scosche bluetooth car kit (motormouth BTAXM) at Walmart as it was on sale for 12.99. I was planning on using it to stream audio, but the stupid company is tricky and make two models. One is just for phone calls and one can do a2dp.
I have a theory that the devices are actually exactly the same but just register themselves as different. One being a hands free headset and an a2dp device.
I was wondering if it was possible to tell the phone that it is a different device (one that supports a2dp) and see if it works. Anyone know of an app or something that can do this? Running CM9 if that helps. Thanks in advance.
I doubt that will work. If your theory is right and it is the same device (I'd say that's not likely, though) you'd need to get the a2dp capable firmware for the device and flash it on there. Simply telling your phone the BT device is a2dp capable wont make it simply accept a2dp streams.

Moving to Q&A
I have been trying without success to identify a good adapter to allow for micro USB charge and 3.5mm stereo audio feed through an apple 30 pin female. There are many offers but none that work as promised by seller. If anyone has a recommendation I would be grateful. Most offers look like included image.
Thanks.

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. XDA really does not support Apple devices. But you could try our sister site here, http://iphone-developers.com/

Hey guys
I'm currently experimenting with my htc and an Soundmate audio reciever to get an optical audio signal that a can connect to my audio processor I have installed in my car.
I'm using the allshare app to get the audiostream over airplay to the soundmate reciever.
It works well and I'm pleased with the solution.
But I have one question thou..
Does anyone know if the signal is transmitted before being encoded in the phones Dac or if it takes the bitstream after and sends it over the airplay?
Sorry for my bad English but I hope you understand my question
Regards
Joakim

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
Your English is great for me, I just haven't used allshare so the concepts are a bit hard to grapple.
Please go ahead an create an account, so you can post in other forums. From there, you can ask your question in the > HTC One (M7) > One (M7) Accessories > Samsung allshare cast dongle thread (if I understand correctly).
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Thanks for trying to help.
I think my previous post was missing some valuable info
I might mention that with allshare I mean an app from the playstore that simulates/converts to "airplay language" so it is possible to connect and stream from your Android unit to Apple airplay devices.
In other words not samsung allshare, allthoug it's similar technologys and I understand the mix up; )
Thanks anyway
