Hello,
I am new to this forum community. This is actually my first post ever.
I own the cingular 8125. I recently aquired a bluetooth stereo headset, hoping to utilize media options on the go. I bought the Southwing sa505, which seems to be a great product, except for the fact that it will not work with my phone. I have contacted Cingular/att, Southwing, and the HTC people. Everyone knows that I need the A2DP hack, but nobody can tell me where to get it.
I've done my own searching using the various engines, but all I can find are waves and waves of forums-no actual links to any type of file. If you guys can help me resolve my frustration in this matter, then I will become a financial contributor.
I am so tired of dead ends, please try to give me a response, whether you can help me or not.
Thank you for your time,
James Coyle

Welcome to the forum.
Usually people here tell n00bs with such questions to keep searching but since you offered us money...
Just kidding!
Seriously though:
Please read the first page of this thread. You will find a download link, full instructions and even screen shots. Though it is not specific for your device it is for very similar model (just no keyboard) and should work just fine for you. (As far as I know this is the only patch available).
In the future I recommend you post questions specific to your device in the Wizard subsection (that is what your phone is called here).
P.S.
This hack is a ripoff from another phone. No official solution exists which is why any of the companies you contacted couldn't help you.

There doesnt seem much interest in this site anymore than there was.
I used to visit this site daily but lately there only seems to be rehashing of old posts.
Am I visiting the wrong site?? Because this doesnt seem like much of a community.
the big empty news area in the centre of the screen sorta makes it look like it.

Just you, I am here everyday. Got a couple of things I'm waiting for.
mmm, there are quite some posts very day.
Maybe the holiday-season had effects on traffic.
It must be the busiest dead site on the web, there are numerous new posts every day, there are bound to be repeat questions as new people come on line and post questions without searching the forum. Probably the reason there is no news in the box is because there is no news with regard to the device we discuss in this forum.
I'm still a frequent visitor too Not sure about admin but there are still plenty of users contributing which is what a forum is all about.
we are basically waiting for the xda3 to arrive, not much news to tell on old devices like the xda-1 and xda-2.
I am busy with other phones, unfortunately that is work done under NDA.
It's just that we don't really like you guys, so we put in a new feature to hide posts from you so you won't reply to them.
this forum is always the greatest site on the world!
Hi. I really love this site. I know that many new people try t o ask the old questions that already posted in this site, but It's okay. Some old questions up to now we haven't have a solution for it. For example, how to fix the radio stack? how to flash it in sd card to save our xda phone?
I noticed that some of us have problem with radio stack upgrade and we have been waitin for the solution.
If someone don't like this site, feel free to not login this site.
I LOVE THIS SITE!!! THANKS THE XDA DEVELOPERS TO CONTRIBUTE YOUR GREAT WORK.

Given the size and nature of this forum now, I was wondering who out there is willing to be a volunteer to administer this forum.
I dont know whats involved, I dont know how much time it takes, but I do know its a thankless job, with zero money, and nobody is asking for help that I can see, but I am suggesting that this topic be used to document who is willing to volunteer and assist.
Perhaps the moderators can them come along and pick some volunteers at their choosing.
So anybody? somebody? everybody? nobody?
To the moderators.... if you are listening, whoever you may be, I am willing to try and help.
I would be willing to volunteer
I am on the forum a lot, so i would be happy to give back to the community by helping out.
To those who are listening up there, I'm in the boat if needed
I'm happy to help out if I can. I spend too much time on this board anyway

Count me in too...I will be obliged
Since I have an explorer open on this site whenever I work on a computer (which is all day) I probably should have said it sooner:
Count me in too!
hi...
..as we (moderators) listen (sometimes) to what is happening in these forums, we are trying to do our best to clean the forum and ftp.
however, time is very limiting factor. so I would say, that the site might need more of fresh power ;o))) but it's only up to admins and owners of this site, who they gonna choose as for moderators.
thanx for offering your help. lets hope, that admins are listening as well...
take care

hi VJ,
I want you as admin @ my site... ;o)))
take care bro... ;o)))

I'd like to volunteer too...I spend quite some time at the Blue Angel sections (BA, BA Upgrading mostly).
Thanks for the offers and yes they have been seen.
Here is our problem most of you are BA owners and most of the mods are also BA owners.
What we need are poeple to look after the newer sections and people to write wiki pages of the newer sections to stop all the same posts.
Also some of the mods are nolonger as active as they have moved on or things have changed or what ever, its normal.
So we need to work out of the old ones who are still around and of the new ones which sections do they cover.
Mostv of you who have posted here have recived PMs from me.
Mean while the Mods are having there own talk in the Modorator section.
Simon who started this thread also posted to a different thread which resulted in this:

Come on, was it really that hard to go to Google and find out it is really an HTC Advantage.

engadget
All off the first page of results.
^Come on, was it really that hard to provide help without being negative?
it wasn't intended to be negative, i did post the reults.
It must have taken longer to start the thread than i spent on Google.
deedee right if you cant be arsed searching then dont ask coz thats not what we do we develop and test. not help people who cant be bothered to spend 30 seconds on google
I did google it actually,
There are different models of the device you refer.
It does seem a bit counter productive to automatically assume that everyone who posts a question you think is stupid or readily available must not have been bothered to look into it. Without knowing the full situation.
Think of all the occasions in your and all reading this where jumping to conclusions as been a mistake.
Thanks for the info you did provide however.
Hope this is the right place for this post
I've been searching the forum for some days now and i've noticed that you don't have any special forums for the LG Optimus Hub model. I know it's rather new to the market, but, at least here in Romania, there are a lot of people who've purchased it and i think they would be interested in having a special forum with mods, suggestions, ROMs for their phone. Hope you will take notice of my request
Can an admin tell me if my request is a valid one?
I think the issue is that it's a very new phone, low profile phone that's been released in limited markets. You'll have to be patient.
Wrong thread

But CHECK if your model is included in the list FIRST..
OK, thank you for your replies!
I've been an XDA user for a few years now, and for the most part I have found it to be a great source of help and information across a wide range of devices and platforms... up until recently.
I have always had a strong interest in mobile phones/devices. And when I got my first smart phone in 2008 my interest was piqued further. I am not a developer, and I don’t intend on becoming one. I am a user. I love customization, apps, games and everything about smart phones (started on Winows Mobile, and I now use Android).
The way I understand it… XDA was started as a developer’s site/forum… for developers. Over the years it began to evolve into a non-exclusive community. Anyone could ask for help on any range of smart phone topics – which I thought was great.
Lately it seems that XDA has been trying to get back to their roots… that is to say, they are trying to make the forums more developer exclusive. I can only say that is a bad thing from a selfish stand point. Of course if I were a developer I might take issue with my forums being flooded with non-developer related (and therefore… irrelevant) threads and posts. I am in no position to criticize the site managers about what type of site they wish to run and how they want to run it. But XDA is becoming useless to me. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find help on non-development related topics.
So… Can someone please recommend another (more user-orientated) site? I like to ask questions on a range of topics; some device specific, some about how to use apps, some game hints, some general android queries, app recommendations, etc. Is there a better forum for a user like me?
Thanks for any help.
I used to frequent http://www.teambamf.net/ when I had my HTC Thunderbolt, Yea, it was my first smart phone.
They do a lot with Samsung phones, you might want to take a look and see what they have to offer.
CharlesTheMan is willing to help anyone who asks, they're good guys.
If you can't find what you want there, just ask, they can tell you what you need to do and recommend where to go if they can't answer your questions.
It always pays to search for different alternatives, I work in an IT department as a programmer, systems network analyst and a webmaster.
Don't always use the same search engine, change up, use Bing or Dogpile or many others to find what you need.
I can spend hours researching for what I need, there is so much out there now you just need to learn "Where To Look", per say.
Good luck and remember, if you don't find what you are looking for, look somewhere else!!
G.
Hi G,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I almost always do a pretty extensive google search before coming hear to post. I rarely use bing or anyother search engine before coming here to ask... will certainly give it a go.
Thanks again.
I don't think there's another forum as great as XDA
but if you could be more specific or if you like MIUI rom, you can find everything about it here miuiandroid[dot]com

hi retslagoon,
I do not have any particular question at this time. But thanks for your reply.
One issue I have with 'being specific' (and I think I might find this hard to explain) is that I can spend quite a bit of time typing out a questing/post (and trying to be clear and specific), while wording correctly; only to have it be ignored - for whatever reason. So the entire exercise ends up being a waste of time.
I do not know why so many simple questions get ignored on these forums, there could be a range of reasons (either because people don't know the answers to them, or because people don't bother to read them; I also wonder if it is due to the fact that some of these unanswered questions are not at all development related and therefor are intentionally ignored to teach the poster a lesson about posting on a development forum).
Eitherway, XDA is not satisfying my search for help/advice and information.
Thanks again.

My experience is that often threads are unnecessarily started: A quick Google-search before in most cases would have given the answer(s) requested. At least if the issue(s) is/are device independent. So you must not wonder a post istn't replied.
