I'm new to the android world and have a few question I want to ask to help me decide if I wanna root my LG optimus v. Sry if this is in the wrong place or if there is a thread I might have missed.
What are the pro &cons of rooting?
Will I lose the apps I have paid for?

with root (named superuser permissions) you can do all thing that you desire with your phone (but not cofee or sex LOL)
1-FLASH A CUSTOM ROM
2-FLASH A CUSTOM KERNEL AND OVERCLOCK YOUR PROCESSOR (SET UP THE PROCESSOR SPEED)
3-CHANGUE THE BASEBAND RADIO
4-FLASH A RECOVERY MENU FOR TO RECOVER YOUR ROM IF ANYTHING GOES BADLY IN YOUR DEVICE
5-FLASH COOL THEMES FOR CUSTOMIZE YOUR ROM
ETC ETC ETC

[Q] Rom Manager supports SGS4g now

What else can we do with this app until we have some mod roms?

I swear i just checked rom manager and sgs4g wasn't on there

I see SGS4g at the bottom of the list at their site. Click on it will show recovery-clockwork 3.2.0.0-galaxys4g.zip. Doesn't it mean SGS4g supported?

I just took a look, its there and i downloaded it. poking my head around the zip

Just out of Curiosity alternate recovery which is amo Rar only works on HTC phones?

hi, i also just downloaded the zip... i updated rom manager thru the market, but it still doesnt list our phone. do i need to reboot into recovery and install that zip in order for it to be listed in the rom manager?

I went to the file with a file manager and selected it...it brought up clockwork..i selected it and it looked like it flashed ..but results are the same. Need ext4 kernal before this works..

at their site it might show it but its different to incorporate it in Rom Manager

I updated too but did not find our device in the list. I looked at the zip and its full of stuff.

I renamed that zip to update.zip and put in root of sd card, boot to clockwork recovery 3.2.0.0. I didn't try anything further, don't know if there is any difference beside version number.

That **** aint on rom manager and if it was this stupid ass phone don't even have no roms the only phone on the dorums with no roms how corny is that!!!

SMASHERS may just be upset in general. As well as syntactically challenged. I'd be too, if I kept checking the dorums and there were no ROMs.

Dont get ur panties in a bunch its just wat the fuxk this phones been out a good 4 months and nothing new dont get me wrong I appreciate all the stuff the devs are doing I even donate to them but it just sucks were still with this punk ass froyo

Where was that said, and I don't think that its easier it just allows a higher delay of allocations which in turn gives great performance, maybe they are saying that because once we get ext4 this phone will good "good enough" to Dev on

App makes please submit you app in apk format via PM.

You know I want to be a builder. I'll get a cm7 when I get a chance to start one soon.

What were trying to do is gather every themer, tester, and developer, or person who is seriously interested in doing so. It's ultimately your choice but it would help us gather info regarding who's in or who's out.

I call dev. Im playing with the 2.3.5 leak and the new rom gsinfuse. Thanks for taking my idea of separation U!

I'm in I'll have to send my themes inlater I'm also looking into developing rom's as well.
P.s. rominator I didn't forget about u just being buisy I will send you that guide soon

Im always down to test, i did my part for just about every rom/kernel i tried on my captivate. I was also trying to get into theming right before the screen went on my cappy. Ima see if i cant cook something up in the next few days. I'd love to be a part of this team, hopefully we'll have enough knowledge between us by the time at&t gb drops

SOC is not the easiest way. lol This is:
SUPERSU
Just wipe cache/dalvik and flash it in recovery.

He would, probably because he's interested in developing for it, and he is looking for a sgs4g right now. Also, it is pretty cheap compared to other devices, around $100 used on ebay

Any progress on the data?

Using Rush Kernel (which the guy who made VX 5 uses!) and I'm having a lot of trouble with the Camera (both the 3d and normal). When I try to use the normal it flashes to take the picture and then says Error and starts the camera again. Help?
