Hi all
Just about to receive my shiny new sensation and am getting ready to start flashing.
Does anyone know where I can find the shipped ROM for this phone so I have it in case I need to send it back for warranty issues etc?
Not sure about versioning etc as I don't have my device yet
mate.. you should be able to create a backup yourself of your rom if no one else has done it... how else do you think everyone is able to get the stock recovery.. im not sure if there is thread here on xda (im sure someone will know it) on how to do it so i chucked in the top result from google
http://androidadvices.com/backup-restore-roms-android-phone/
edit: remember you will need to get a stock recovery.img (you can get this in the dev thread) to reflash once you have done the reflash of the original rom (as you would have used cwm to flash the original you need to make sure you get rid of cwm to bring him shiny new =]
What we are after is a RUU for the stock Telstra ROM, not a nandroid backup.

I finally got around to rooting and S-OFFing my phone today, while I was at it I used clockwork recovery to make a backup of the Stock VHA Branded ROM.
I saw a few people were looking for this so here it is. Feel free to mirror it or whatever, this is my first ROM-dump so if anything is amiss or I did something wrong please let me know. I still have the device available to make further dumps.
This is for the Desire HD (Obviously) Branded by Vodafone Australia.

Sorry for posting a link as a new member, I thought this would be worth it.
EDIT: Obviously the dump is all at factory defaults, on first boot it should be like buying a new phone, from a bloatware company.
Except it will be a rooted bloatware rom?
That's the point People have been asking for it as a backup rom, as flashing a non Vodafone rom may void certain warranties, which flashing this back could increase your chance of keeping. I personally upgraded my own DHD to a much better ROM as soon as I could.
Awesome, ive been waiting for the stock ROM. Good Work

No worries man. Let me know how it turns out if you use it. Everything should be at factory defaults as I wiped the device with Clockwork before making the backup. If you find anything wrong just let me know in this thread.
Thanks Should be handy for warranty issues!
Thanks champion!
Thanks mate. I've downloaded and it all looks good so far (haven't flashed though to check).
Is it rooted with VISIONary r12?
Sweet, been waiting for this. Thanks mate!

Yeah the process I followed was Perma root with VISIONary v12, install hboot, install clockwork test, use clockwork to wipe to factory and then backup to SDcard. I'm unsure as to the exact details of how VISIONary works at this time so it may not still be rooted, I don't know if root persists after factory reset.
Thanks! this is getting downloaded for safety/warranty reasons.
Thanks a lot for extracting and hosting the original (Vodafone AUS) ROM!
Am i right, that this is the only thing you need to set your mobile into delivery condition? If there are some other traces of flashing they might decline warranty, too!
Perhaps, if you have the time and pleasure, you could write a detailed how-to for newbies (with links to software you need, e.g.!) how to extract the original firmware.
I think this would be necessary if the DHD will be available in other countries on other network providers (with their own ROM).
Excellent! I'm just 2 days into my new DHD from Vodafone Oz and just about to do the same... Rooting!
I'll probably make a back for myself but I'm downloading this one too... Just to be safe.
Thanks heaps Kazuroka!
BTW - Don't listen to those lame ppl who don't have anything positive to add.
Just a note: I believe that this ROM, although the stock Vodafone image, is a rooted one. So if Vodafone have a moderately smart technical department they will still be able to tell that it is not running their complete stock image.
@ivolol: That's exactly what i'm thinking about! For e. g., changing ROM on my Windows Mobile phone requires a modification of the bootloader. If you flash back your old (original) ROM you have to remember to change the bootloader to original too. Otherweise you have the original ROM on your phone but another bootloader and this could be be detected very easily. I know that the procedure changing ROM on DHD is another than on Windows Mobile, but perhaps you have to think about more things than only flashing the original ROM?!

After flashing back the backup ROM I did not have root. I installed Terminal Emulator and tried to su, and even downloaded VISIONary+ and re-Rooted the device. However I did still have the Eng hboot, as that was not included in this backup. I have a copy of the original hboot from when S-OFFed the phone, I will see what I can do about getting the original hboot and stock ROM into one package for everyone, and then perhaps write a tutorial for flashing them back individually. I MAY NOT, however, write the tutorial as I am still rather new and would not like to lead people into doing something the wrong way. I will also include the stock hboot in a seperate archive for those who have already downloaded this release.

This is the original system.img that comes on a brand new Vodafone Desire HD.
This image was dumped manually without Visionary messing with stuff, and Obviously the image is NOT rooted. It's completely stock.
This would probably be the best image to use if you're worried about returning the phone
Note: I have had to return a Desire HD to Vodafone who did not check that it was rooted and S-OFF'ed - So, don't worry too much.

Why is your file so much bigger than Kazuroka's original upload and also just wondering your method of extracting the img?
Thanks
Hey, if I upgraded my hd2 to android (flashed the NAND ROM) but now I realized that Android won't even run b/c of a problem I have had from before, and I want to send it back and get a new one...
So, i flashed back to the original WM version I had before, I went to HSPL and flashed to the 2.000 ROM instead of the hspl...
Is my warranty voided now? Will they know I did all this?
and if it is can, what about insurance on the phone they offer to everyone (I actually took it) that should cover the phone even if it is dropped in a lake, right?
You can just revert back to stock some times just by flashing an official ROM or just following a simple unrooting process just search for your particular phone, as long as you make sure you do that, they won't know that you did anything to it.

Thanks, that's great!
Now can any one tell me what all im supposed to do to put the phone back the way it was (the way the warranty people want to see it)?
I found a guide about the Diamond somewhere on this website [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=537496], and also looked over some other guids, and I have some quick questions;
'stock ROM' is this the tmobile windows rom I had on before right?
The tutorial says when I flash the stock ROM that I should also have a new stock radio version, this is not the case with me I still have 2.15.50.40, can I download 'stock radio' from somewhere?
Also, what's the stock spl? How do I check that?
Sorry for all the newbie-ism in the questions;
Also sorry that it says warrany instead of warranty, something must be wrong with my keyboard.
Thanks for any answers
If your radio didn't change you can change it by flashing the original one just look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470306
Your stock ROM is wm 6.1, your stock spl is either 1.93 or 2.03 just check out here

I apologize if this has been asked already, but does anyone know the RUU for the Sensation on sale from Telecom NZ?
I've flashed the latest Revolution HD ROM and am having no end of battery related problems (overheating, discharging very quickly, etc) unfortunately the great tweaks do not outweigh the requirement for a functional phone so I would like to go back to stock.
Maybe someone could recommend a good guide for returning completely to the stock state (Unrooted, S-On, etc) as well?
Thanks in advance...
everything you need is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
follow the link hit ctrl-f and type step 5. should lead you to "STEP 5 - CHANGING BACK TO S-ON - ...... blah blah blah"
hope that helps
Thanks for that, I'm still a little confused as the instructions say to find the closest RUU to the stock ROM for your handset, however I do not know which RUU came with mine.
I'm really hoping someone here knows the answer?
Thanks again.
UPDATE: I've restored a backup I made prior to flashing Revolution HD and I have the stock ROM again. However I'd still like to know the RUU if anyone could please let me know? Will need to put it completely back to stock if the issues I've seen turn out to be a fault with the handset itself
After doing your nandroid restore you can go to settings - about phone - software information.
There should be a string in there which says something like 1.35.405 or along those lines. This is the version number of the stock rom and will tell you which ruu you need to use to revert the phone to factory defaults.
If you are not sure post the complete version number here and I will try to find the right ruu for you.

Thanks for that, the software version is 1.34.781.2
I could not find a match for the RUU in this post:

But I'm hopeful you have a better idea than I do
Thanks again!
Sorry buddy, don't know why I said I would find it for you. But of an insult to your intelligence really. Couldn't find it either but it appears baadnews cooked a rom based off it according to a google search for it. Maybe you could try sending him a pm and see if he has it our a link to it?

Hi b.coxy, did you find RUU for sensation on Telecom?Had you completely unrooted and restored to telecom stock firmware?I also wanna unroot and restore my sensation z710a back to stock rom.I appreciate if you could help. Thanks.
I too would be interested in the New Zealand RUU for the Telecom HTC Sensation.
Just in case I need to go back to stock for some reason.
Never managed to find an RUU sorry. In the end I had to reflash my original backup of the telecom stock and go from there.
Have since upgraded to a One X but will be happy to have a dig around for that backup if anyone is still in need?

Well, I got my Sensation today, and I'd like to know what to do first.
I have a Vodafone branded HTC Sensation, with compilation number 3.32.162.11, Base band version 11.69A.3504.00U_11.23.3504.07_M2, it comes with ICS Sense 3.6.
I'd like to know how to be able to install a recovery and install other roms, and later return to the same branded original rom, in case I have to send it for warranty.
I'd first like to know how to do all of this. Also, I'd like to save the original RUU, but can't find it.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks

I'm sorry, I didn't understand a lot that you've said =\
I'm pretty sure what you're supposed to do is search the forums to find the answer to your question that's been asked over and over again.
That's why he told you to goto that link and read. Has all the information you want.
Yeah, the thing is I can't find the RUU I currently have, and I'd like to have it before doing everything on the link provided...
In that case, make a nandroid backup. Know what you have stock and assemble the bits needed.
Is this a new or used phone and are you son it soff

Using the method: " 1) Easy Method for Installing ICS Custom Roms ( S-ON Devices with hboot 1.27.0000 ) " from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26277186#post26277186, without S-OFF, how can I go back to stock, if I have to return the phone to warranty?
I can make a nandroid backup of my current rom, which is the stock one, from Vodafone, updated. The thing is I don't have the ruu to restore the vodafone branding + ICS. And I can't use an older Vodafone ruu and update, because of hboot version. I can only flash the Europe ICS ruu, which I don't know if will void the warranty with Vodafone (since it gets debranded). I assume the phone goes to HTC and they just check that the bootloader is locked, S-ON and unrooted, and they fix it and don't care about branding but still... Technically even if I do the nandroid backup of my current rom, I can restore it, but won't be able to remove the bootloader lock without flashing a complete ruu, correct?
Hi,
I flashed CM 11 onto my One Mini M4 back in November, but am kind of fed up with the crashes etc and want to go back to FULL stock, so I can perhaps sell on the phone and get something a little faster
How can I do this? I don't understand which one of the threads is the FULL stock HTC ROM, and some say "flash this firmware first" which I don't quite understand either. Also I wouldn't mind being able to "relock" the bootloader and put the original recovery back on
Thanks
