All of a sudden clicking on a file in the File Manager does not behave properly. When I click on the file, the screen gets darker but no list of Applications that can handle the file are ever displayed. I have tried this with avi, pdf, and mp3 files and the same behavior occurs each time. This seems to have started out of no where. I've tried other file manager applications but I see the same behavior. Any ideas?

I am observing the same problem on my tablet.
Initially I tried opening an .avi file from the File Manager selecting RockPlayer Lite. The sound came on, but there was no image. I couldn't close the application, so I turned off the tablet.
After that any attempt to open a file from File Manager failed. When I select the file that I want to open the screen darkens, but there are no more options which program to use to open the file.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

When I soft reset, the My Info (owner information screen) looks OK. However lately when I turn on the device the font is weird looking almost a little scrambled. Has anyone else had this problem or able to link me to the file I need?

a reason it could look odd is if you turned on cleartype try to turn it off
I don't have clear type on.
There must be some file which loads the My Info image?
Found a file called myinfo.ttf under windows\temp. Deleted it and all is ok.
Probably got installed with a program I had installed.

I got struck with one problem in Windows Mobile 5.0 Today Screen Custom Plug-in application.
I created a small sample Custom plug-in which retrives system time and displays on the today screen.
Iam able to make entries in registry success fully , place the .dll file in the path mentioned in registry. Now after re-starting the device i am even able to see my custom plug-in.
Now the actual problem is as i navigate each time to other windows (say File Explorer or any window). and come back to today screen, my custom plug-in is disappearing. When i go back to settings and Today items and click 'OK' each time, i am able to see the custom plugin.
Other examples down loaded from net are working fine but my application is having this issue.
Can any one please help me by suggesting or finding what the actual problem is?

So its been like this since stock. Drag n drop music to several different directories trying to find the path that works. /music, /media/music, /media/mp3. Just doesn't show up. if I navigate to the music files manually they will play but only 1 at a time. I want to just hit shuffle and put phone off to the side. Any ideas?
Edit: solved, for whatever reason there was a .nomedia file on the root of my sd card and apparently it makes all sub folders invisible.
You know, this happened with me as well with this phone. But not any other android device I've had (This is the fourth). Is this something that the device is shipping with? It's kinda weird.
Been searching but could not find anyone face same issue.
I open browser and navigate to file with any of this extension .mp4 .avi .rmvb.
By default when i select this files the background will grey out and a list will appear allow me to choose the apps i wan to use to play it BUT it does not. All it does it grey out the background and stop there. no list show, nothing load.
The list will appear the first time i boot after a clean flash. after a reboot.. it wont load anymore..
I tried flashing to stock 2.1. works fine here.
upgrade to 2.2.1 and works fine here.
once upgrade to 2.2.2 then the problem resurface.
MY is wifi version z604.

Known Honeycomb bug:
make sure that auto rotte is enabled (in settings/screen) and when you get that greyed-out screen, just rotate the Xoom (landscape to portrait or vis versa).
I've downloaded the Good Lock apk file from two different sites and can't seem to get it to install. I've verified that I can install 3rd party apps in security settings and the download folder file looks good (has Good Lock icon). However when I select the file, nothing happens. No install, no error, nothing.
EDIT: I just noticed a black window quickly flashes that says "Deep scanning..... ". That was all I could read before the popup box went away.
Any ideas appreciated.
