SetCPU throwing constant notification! - HTC Sensation

I'm S-OFF, rooted, and running LeeDroid Sensational v1.1 and kernel 1.2 ...
My Setcpu keeps throwing the "Set CPU has been granted SuperUser permissions" like every couple minutes. It's annoying as hell and making me wonder if it's working correctly. Anyone else experiencing this? Just did a super wipe and flashed again and problem persists.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App

Yep, i had this same issue. I turned off SetCpu for now. JuiceDefender on the other hand when it turns off Data, it can't seem to turn it back on
Just imagine if we can get those two apps to work correctly, you can easily get 24hrs usage on battery for this phone

Open up super user and untick the box for notifications...
Juice Defender is a butt head. Waste of money for the reason of it not turning data back on.
matt

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but have anyone notice their phone running really hot when using setcpu? I just started using it last night. I didn't use the phone at all today and then I got a msg. And realized the phone was 43 C degrees.

LOL it will stop the annoyance, but doesn't really solve the issue. I want to know WHY it's doing this

Lol not for me, it'll eat me up inside until I figure it out

Yeah, I try not to turn off superuser notification for apps so that I can see which apps are constantly call su. I only turn it off when I use Drocap2 for screenshot on phone.

I havent noticed any battery difference. Seems less for me than a continuous call. After a few seconds silence the connection stops until someone pushes the talk button.

Yeah i apologize i think it was probably my rom i had at the time.
battery kills me too. not during use, but when it is constantly pinging the server (even with use on WiFI only setting)
I will try reinstalling to see if I can fix it, but I wish it didn't have to CONTINOUSLY run in the background
okay i got it up an runnin, error on the roms side..fixed the rom now im TIKL away..it does seem to drain battery life..i have been using this rom for 4 days now with incredible battery life (22-30hrs). with TiKl up its down to 7-hrs...thas no good, but it has to stay on to get calls...so if you want to use it, then use it...if not then dont...no way to fix..if you kill the process/task then you will not recieve the calls

Do you know what your time since charged was? (I wish it would display total time since charged there...) The "since charged" definition seems weird and hasn't reset on my phone in ages... I've tended to use "since last unplugged".
Pandora appears to be your #1 wakelocker. eBay mobile seems to be pretty bad too.
NetworkLocation wakelocking can be eliminated by unchecking all of the location features in Settings except for when you want network location/GPS.

I assume you were listening to Pandora during that time, in which case, that wakelock is normal. Playing music from your device will also hold a wakelock when the screen is off. If you weren't listening to Pandora at all, then something is wrong.
Whoa. Why the heck is eBay holding that wakelock . Check your notification settings and if it's still holding it, clear its data and try again. Otherwise, I'd uninstall it. I always use the browser to access eBay anyway.

No. In the device settings, turn GPS off until you need it and leave network location checked/enabled. Go into Fancy Widget under weather settings and UNcheck/disable GPS location (GPS is unnecessary for weather updates), verify that network location is checked. Then, I would recommend changing your refresh settings (to update less frequently). I'd bet you have it set to update more frequently than an hour. I also use Fancy Widget and mine is set to 3 hours. This should take care of your network location wakelock (unless another app is also updating with network location).
BTW if Wifi is on but not connected, in Froyo it seems to scan way too often regardless of build.prop setting. Netloc should wakelock less if wifi is off.

I installed BetterBatteryStats because I was curious as to why my phone always seemed to drain so quickly. I am rooted and running infused 1.5.3. I have very few widgets, one that actually accesses anything, and don't do much but surf the net or the forums in the morning. I would unplug it at 6:30 and go to work. By about 8 or so I would already be at 90% or less. That was me hardly using it. Well I hope I got my answer. Apparently Beautiful Widgets was KILLING me on the wakelocks! I wish I took a picture of it before I uninstalled it but jesus it was bad! Thanks for the good info I'm gonna keep an eye on it and see how it does.
Oh funny thing is, I was not even running Beautiful Widgets! I use Fancy Widget instead lol.

No, slow charge is a few other things. ALL android phones wakelock when charging.
The phone shouldn't count CPU/screen/etc usage against charge current at all but it does. It seems to do it less so on GB. Still does it, but the spikes seem lower even if I crank stability test. Gonna be a while before I can test a navigation run.
Seems like on GB, difference between screen off and running stability test with screen on is about 200 mA. Haven't tested in that much detail on froyo. Another way of putting that - putting the screen on and cranking CPU will reduce charge rate by at least 1/3 of the 600 mA charge limit.

Does this actually help my phone?

Has anyone tried Fast Reboot pro? I have it automatically perform a fast reboot everytime I unlock the screen, but I'm not sure if it actually does any good for my phone. Anyone that's used it before, would you mind letting me know what you think of it, thanks?

It's prob just sucking your battery dry.
Set it to do a reboot each night or something, but not when you unlock the phone!!!
It's turning a simple act of turning the phones screen on, to restarting all startup apps on the phone, not gonna be helpful.

Yeah, just use it once in a while when you phone has been running for a long time.
I use it to... But its not a task killer it just restarts apps as if it was just booted.
Like above advice just use it once in a while and make sure you check important apps in white list ir manage list under settings to prevent it to restart the launcher etc.

How new is the phone? Stock or custom? Have you tried a factory reset since you got the phone?
When I first got my HOX I was experiencing the same issue, it would happen ever so often. I did a factory reset and that seemed to fix the problem. I also installed CleanRom and I saw an improvement in my battery life as well. I know some people are experinceing heating issues that causes the batt to tank like that. Download GSM battery to see if an app is running in the background causing it to over heat. Also if you have your phone rooted you can DL SetCPU and set up a profile to underclock it when it get's too hot.
It's happened to many people before.
Nobody knows why it happens, but people say restarting it helps sometimes

Were you using Chrome with tilt scrolling enabled? (It's enabled as default) That can eat your battery in a few minutes. Or maps?
My only guess because the significant drain happened when screen was awake and phone on.
I don't think it's the signal bug... It shows your signal as straight green, so it's consistent.
Did anyone else think this would be a sense pun?

Nope. First time anything like this has ever happened. No idea what the hell caused it.
I was having issues like this too. He's running Xi40. I had that problem with that ROM too. Went to bed with it fully charged, woke up with it at 47%. Huge down spikes in the middle of the night for no apparent reason.
Flashed CleanROM 4.5 RC1 and the difference is amazing. Went out for over 10 hours yesterday and used it moderately and only consumed 34%. Something is up with that ROM. I have CleanROM setup and all the same apps installed as I did with Xi40 but the battery lasts much longer.
htc seem to have issues writing battery drivers.
the sensation and evo 3d battery drivers were completely ****ed up and htc managed to only fix the evo 3d but not the sensation

The network signal in the pic is fully green, no signal drops. Signal drops show as red. Also, from what I've seen, the dropped data signal issue results in a really steep line, but not a dead vertical one. This looks more like the incorrect voltage being read, and the volt meter correcting itself.

Or, since the phone was awake and the screen was on, it was heavily loaded (process stuck at 99% cpu, benchmarking, etc.). Either way, nothing to see here, move along.

I don't think you will see a vertical drop, no matter how heavily you load the CPU. A steep line, yes. But the vertical line indicates an instantaneous (or near instantaneous) drop in voltage. My guess is still that on an incorrect voltage reading, and the voltmeter suddenly adjusting for the error. As others have mentioned a factory reset resolves the issue, its possible some residual battery meter data is left over from a previous ROM.

(Q) Google Services Battery Drain

I've seen in a lot of topics people asking about this but I have never seen a direct answer. Direct your attention to the screen shots.
Is there anything I can freeze in TiBU? I have my DS battery saver to slumber so anytime I lock my phone it goes to deep sleep right away.

Mine is always on but I turn off all sync. I don't see Google services ever in my top 5. Turning off might help but that might not be the issue.
From the other thread, your battery saver might actually be the problem.
