Has anyone had success with rendering Greek fonts in the browser? Even though the installation of the Ubuntu font works perfectly on my 1.6 phone, it doesn't work on the Xoom.
I have also tried Gentium, Arial, and Athena with no luck as well.
Well, the fonts render properly in Firefox, but not in Dolphin (HD or Pad) or in the stock browser. I guess that is something.

I've 3.2, even when I had 3.1 & 3.0.1 I didn't have keyboard for any language but english. but I was able to browse over any websites with any language, but if you're worried, maybe this thread can help you if you're using the right rom
maybe you can ask them to port the language pack for you
Thanks. I should have been more clear, but I don't need to type in Greek, just read Greek New Testament text in the browser. Since it works in Firefox I will be OK just so long as I remember to use that browser.

This might be something that jockyw2001 understands. I have a Kaiser that was originally traditional chinese. I updated it to the latest WM6.1 WWE English ROM, but I'm finding some strange behavior.
For example, I want to install CEStar Chinese Input and Display. The problem I ran into is an error message on install that says CEStar is already installed and that I should remove it before re-installing it. While I need to use mainly english, I still get Chinese email, SMS and even use Papago in traditional chinese.
Not sure what is going on here. I definitely cannot display Chinese characters (they all show up as blocks on my phone) but I can't instlal CEStar either. If someone kneows what is going on, please let me know.

hang n just want to share an opinion
hi mikelim i have bought a kaiser that was originally a simplified chinese n ive changed it to english version n it seem have no problem at all but when i have istall the CEStar Chinese Input and Display it sometimes hang n i must soft reset it n not just that sometimes using keyboard it have a lag (freeze for 2 or 3 second) but maybe you have to try to install a ROM RUU_Kaiser_HK_WWE_1.82.721.1_radio_sign_22.51.88.13_1.27.15.32R2_Ship that work fine on me but still the CEstar won't work very smooth ...
So I have been looking around and just can't find a proper way of adding a dictionary to an Android phone. Running Froyo on a Samsung Vibrant. I have MoreLocale2 on my phone but that doesn't add the dictionary. It just switches between languages. The gingerbread keyboard supposedly have a Swedish dictionary on there, but I can't see it, which makes me think that I have to have the dictionary on my phone before I can select it, or at least activated.
So my question is this. Does anyone in here know how to do it? Or is willing to investigate? I'm not a programmer, and I have a hard time trying to figure out where the dictionary would be going on the phone.
I'm rooted and running a leaked version of Froyo.
I am also curious about it. I got rooted wildfire with cyanogenmod installed and got English and a couple more dictionaries on it, but would like to know how to install Russian dictionary or at least can some one tell me where is the dictionary file located in the rom it self(in archive).
Performed update to Gingerbread yesterday - Install went smooth - Root went smooth.
By the way - not a total noob, just never actually created an account before - shame on me. Should be thanking people all the time.
Anyway - Today after booting when I try to speak a text message or speak a search in the market the phone thinks I'm speaking Spanish and adds text in spanish (not an actual translation, just what it thinks I'm saying in Spanish). Trust me, I'm speaking English, and I'm not drunk.
Google search feature recognizes my english and creates text in english.
I've checked all the settings in my device and all languages are set to English (US).
I've tried switching to other English formats as well. No change.
Any ideas?
Profile too new to post in Dev Section...
Also, tried updating keyboard to Keyboard from Android 2.3. Nice design, but didn't help fix the issue.
Tried scouring the site for this issue, but don't see it noted anywhere.
Thanks!
Strange
K, oddly enough - this corrected itself when I removed the Chrome to Phone app.
All set.
Hi, I would like to ask if anyone knows if it is possible to update the transformer firmware manually with the files of a different region?
The reason I am asking is that I got my Transformer in Japan, and the update to honeycomb 3.1 is not released here yet. (its still 3.0)
Can I use the US, or WW firmware file to update without any problems?
I'm a little worried about losing functionality with the dock keyboard, since the layout for the Japanese model is a little different (different key-mapping).
Has anyone tried to do this?
Thanks!
yeah I really need to know this too. I love this tablet but the browser crashes alot and the keyboard is laggy plus the video is horrible and staggered both on youtube and from the memory so I'm hoping the update will fix this but for some reason Japan hasn't gotten the update which is driving me crazy
Cheers for a response in advance
So... has anyone tried this?
I want 3.1, but I don't want to brick my transformer (><)
You can try PRIME 1.5 version, It's more optimized than the stocks firmware. But other firmware should works fine.
thanks makec3rt
I don't know anything about custom roms. I read the post that you linked to. But, I don't 100% understand what the point of this rom is..? Why use it instead of the stock?
Also, am I likely to have issues with the keyboard layout if I install this? And what happens to the pre-installed apps (like polaris office etc)?
You can read the change logs at there. With PRIME 1.5, you will have root access, which allow you access/modify/remove stocks apps you don't wan't, and system files etc..and not limited as the stocks firmware.
Keyboard layout should works fine, you can always change keyboard layout in the settings.
All pre-installed apps are still there.
Hi guys! I've got the same problem: my EEE Pad is from Deutschland (Build number: HRI66.DE_epad-8.2.3.13-20110511) and THE ONLY language is Deutcsh (no other languages are available in the menu). MoreLocale doesn't really help.
Cause I don't know Deutsch at all I wonder if it's possible to change firmware for US/WW/CN or anything else that would have several languages to choose from.
And what I have to do for that.
Installing a foreign SKU will void your warranty, that's for sure.
Hello, I have installed gboard and everything was fine until I realized that deleting a word sometimes leaves last letter and that last letter can't be deleted. It's this case in Samsung internet and chrome. I even encounter with it here in this typing box. I think it has something to do with autocorrect?
I am actually having the exact same problem and haven't found a solution. Is this a known problem? Have you found anything online that I missed?
ME too
I use Gboard on S7 and Nexus7 all the time and never had problems with deleting letters. In Gboard settings for Text correction I only enabled Show suggestions, Next-wordsuggestions, Auot capitalization and Multilingual typing. May be You can try out what setting is responsible for Your issue.
Hi! My problem is different, but suits for this subject.
Last week I bought Galaxy S7 Exynos (Nougat) and installed Gboard. Unfortunately, predictive words doesn't show, despite enabling this functionality in Gboard settings. To be more precised, bar where words should appear is visible, but there are no predictive words on it. I googled about this issue and tried several solutions, including clearing cache, reinstalling Gboard, installing previous version - still no luck. I have up-to-date stock ROM. The only way to show predictive words is to add secondary language, i.e. English - but that's not best workaround, because I'd like to use Polish as my default language.
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?
Hm, I have GBoard on my S7 Exynos since 2016 with latest official firmware and no issues. I have German as primary and English (US) as secondary and I get suggestions for both, depending on my selection.
May be, we can compare the settings on our devices.
@mausbock
Sure, why not. Attached screenshots are in Polish, but I believe all settings are in the same order.
Ok, I compared the settings. Beside the Emojis that I don't use the only difference is that I have two languages set up. I dropped the second for testing and auto suggestion is still working.
Hm, strange, but I think setting up a second language but do not use it, will be the best solution for now. May be, a factory reset will help on Your issue, but I would definitely not recommend this.
May be, English as second language is an option to post on XDA forums. [emoji6]
Sorry, I don't have any idea, why it is not working with one language on Your device.
Well, I tried addidng second language before. The only difference is that sugestion bar shows predctions in English - even if I turn them off.
Ok, if I understand that right, only the polish suggestions are missing? That's really strange.
Yep, that's true.
Hm, I added polish to my keyboard for testing and I get polish suggestions...
What build do you use?
Firmware is G930FDBT1DQJ1, the latest official german version without provider branding,
GBoard version is 6.9.8.183626756.
Well, same firmware (polish version to be precise) and Gboard build. I'm out of ideas.
