This might be something that jockyw2001 understands. I have a Kaiser that was originally traditional chinese. I updated it to the latest WM6.1 WWE English ROM, but I'm finding some strange behavior.
For example, I want to install CEStar Chinese Input and Display. The problem I ran into is an error message on install that says CEStar is already installed and that I should remove it before re-installing it. While I need to use mainly english, I still get Chinese email, SMS and even use Papago in traditional chinese.
Not sure what is going on here. I definitely cannot display Chinese characters (they all show up as blocks on my phone) but I can't instlal CEStar either. If someone kneows what is going on, please let me know.

hi mikelim i have bought a kaiser that was originally a simplified chinese n ive changed it to english version n it seem have no problem at all but when i have istall the CEStar Chinese Input and Display it sometimes hang n i must soft reset it n not just that sometimes using keyboard it have a lag (freeze for 2 or 3 second) but maybe you have to try to install a ROM RUU_Kaiser_HK_WWE_1.82.721.1_radio_sign_22.51.88.13_1.27.15.32R2_Ship that work fine on me but still the CEstar won't work very smooth ...

So I usually keep my phone locked because its usually in my pocket. I frequently get text messages and it's kind of a pain to unlock it and relock it each time I get a message. Is there any way for my phone to unlock the keys when I slide it open, and then relock when I slide it closed?

Potentially it's a nice app, but... Some Remarks:
- It's language dependent. This didn't work on my Dutch s710 ROM, but does work on the English and Polish ROM. Version 1.04i also supports German and French languages.
- Sadly the latest version referred to in that topic, version 1.04i, is no longer available on the site where it was linked. I also googled, but no luck. The other linked version 1.02i is still available trough the link but you have to register on that Polish site (I managed, though my Polish is not that good). And I suspect the guy that wrote it is no longer active at this forum.
Question: did anybody download the 1.04i version and can he/she make it available for download again somewhere?
- The most important problem: it's demo, and therefore it only unlocks the keyboard one time per application run. After one unlock AC Unslide 1.02 closes itself. The funny thing is there is no full (pay) version available that I know of...
Question: Is there any way around this, for example by some auto-restart trick/tool?

Yes. You can use mortscript. As I don't have the app, neither the htc, cannot test anything, but it would be something like this (don't blame me if it's wrong, just following examples):
#RestartAutolock.mscr - Restart the application when it finishes.
result= ProcExists ( proccess name for the autolock application )
if (result < 1 )
{
RunWait( application_filename.exe )
}
Make it repeat each x seconds/minutes/whatever and you're done

I just reinstalled the program and found out there is another problem that makes the restart idea impossible... unless you have a Polish ROM, that is.
The app defaults to the Polish language, so when you have an English ROM, everytime you start it you have to press the left softkey and choose the English language (option 2). I tried starting the program with parameters like 2, -2, E but unsurprisingly this did not work.
Too bad... it's a nice tweak.
can someone make it simple?
I am a Q9 fan. Q9 is my favorite input method for Chinese, developed in HK. I have been using it since my Palm PDA days, upgrading from version to version. Never have had any trouble.
The latest Q9 version is said to work on WM6.5. After installing on HD2, things look fine, except that the "new line" and "backspace" keys give a long string of gibberish. And not just from Q9. These two keys from any input method (eg including Swype) give the same results. So I unistall Q9. Then HTC Sense went crazy. Several input methods (including the built-in Touch) are lost. Many Sense screens mysteriously became WM6 screens. In general, things aren't operational even after power off reboots.
So I did a complete restore and report the case to www.q9tech.com
But until they figure out what happened, don't try it with your Leo.
Just installed a new version of PPC 6.5 (posted on Apr-2010) and everything goes fine. You may try the new one on your HD2

Do you have swype? last time I was testing with them, I found that if Swype is not installed, Q9 works fine, but if Swype is, then it went into problems.
If you want traditional Chinese input for HKG or Taiwan, you can simply just flash your HD2 with the Chinese official rom. I didn't want to go though all those trouble finding a program to write Chinese, so I just flash my phone with official Taiwan HD2 rom. The down side of this is that you cannot use swype with the chinese rom.
Hi, I have a Pola200 O2 xda orbit2 version.
Have updated it to the italian official Rom (htc site), and all was fine,
the Rom was a bit slow, so I was looking for other Roms, and got attracted by 3Lit3 viii full.
once updated the 3lit3 I've started having some problems!
1) I was using an Arabizer (IMAGINET ARABIZER) that allow another keyboard option, besides my italian standard keyboard.
once installed 3lit3 I don't know why but NO LANGUAGE PACKAGE could be installed, no problem with any other software installation, but these language pachages were not accepted anymore "install unsuccessfull".
2) WI-FI, I have and I usually use, now my wi-fi drops down after 2 seconds! what the hell is happening?
I have returned back to the HTC original ROM from the HTC website, but no way, still the same problem!
Have tried different 3LIT3, Vii WWE, Viii ita full,V3 ita light, V3 wwe... no change! nor for the first nither for the second problem.
how can I restore it? I have tried factory restore but even after, it still the same
What to do?
Note: I have tried RADIO updates, Radio 1.59.44.02, 1.59.42,.... nothing changes!

Don´t know if you mean this but if you would install something like this:

you must terminate the "SipGT_app" process first, or you won't be able to install.

looked for the SipGT_app.exe, but it's not in the active applications list!
I have also looked for any geographical reference program to terminate.
but there were no other application ending with "GT"!
maybe in my polaris it's named differently?
I got a crash while terminating GWES, and another crach while terminating another prog I don't remember.. did many tries but with no success.
I think whay you suggested is the right way to think, end-up geo stuff, to add another Geo, bt I'm still looking for a way to do it.

When I bought my phone, it had Ezinput already installed with Pinyin. It worked great! Unfortunately the stock rom (Rhodium_S2_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.07.707.1 ROM) was very slow so I installed Energy. Now, I have a fast system but no Chinese support. I've tried several IMEs like Sogou or this one[1] and none of them work correctly (the second one screwed up my phone and I had to hard reset, and it doesn't even bring up Chinese options in text messages).
I liked Ezinput the best, but I can't seem to find it in simplified Chinese anywhere, here or on HTC's website. Where can I get this?

i go to settings - language and inputs but the "baidu" is grayed out and i cant uninstall it

You need to install another keyboard or input method before you can remove Baidu input method.
Under normal circumstances Android keyboard should be built in, so you can always revert to it.
But it seems that you're not the case.
