Xoom 3.1 mp4 issue

i have just upgrade my xoom from 3.0.1 to 3.1 , but i can't play .mp4 video even if i had some lack on some apps not the build in player there's no sound .
is there any solution for this or i'll downgrade to 3.0.1 ?
maybe your video setting such as bit rate is not enough for 3.1. because 3.1 improve solid unit capability.
The native android player will do just fine with h.264 in an mp4 container; recent tests in another thread demonstrate that 3.1 will handle baseline, main, and high-profile 720p encodes as well.

From what I understand, with the Tegra2 will playback H.264 High Profile in hardware and offloads it to the processor, which as you've noticed can't decode it quickly enough. The I know the Tegra2 will playback H.264 Base 3.0 profile (iPod). I also think it will playback H.264 Main.
The Tegra3 (Kal-El) is the first SoC chip to be able to playback High Profile in hardware.
Dice player.... do better job. In addition, i overclock to 1.4, then to mkv fikes 720p play smoothly...but you have to root your tf or install custom rom plus custom kernel

owh..i have to root my tf eh?thanks dude..
try to use mx video player and download the mx video codec.
you can also add subtitle to your movies....
it's work on my tf...
I have a bunch of movies in MP4 (h264) and AVI (dixv) format that work on my transformer. I use MX Video Player to play them because that software is by far the best video playing software i have seen on any tablet.

I also will put in my 2c about the MX Video Player. Well worth the five and change. It plays MKV ripped right to the disc but, sometimes is a little
choppy.
I've been using a pre pre pre Alpha build of VLC Media Player on my Eee Pad and HTC Desire for a while now and haven't had any trouble playing almost any file (mostly .avi ripps of DVD's).
If you want to try it download the VLC-noneon.apk (double check your device /proc/cpuinfo) from the developer here:

MX Video Player and MoboPlayer plays 720p with few (there still is) hiccups on my stock TF. I find Dice to be more laggy.
I'm not sure if it was the latest revolution ROM, or the latest MX Player, but now I can play WTV files streamed from my WMC without issue. Very happy. ([email protected]).
The 1080i is ok (deinterlacer needs work), but the 720p stuff looks awesome! Tried 1.4Ghz, did not help.
I still think Dice is the best for MP4/AVC/AAC, but MX Player does a decent job.

Video player for the note

Hi all,
The stock player plays quite a few files natively but wasn't able to recognize the .mov taken with my friend's DSLR. I used to use MX player with my old phone and it worked great with HW acceleration but when I try to play the .mov (1080p) on the Note, only SW acceleration is available for the note which is quite choppy and it wont let me install any of the codecs from the market. Does anyone know of any other video players for the Note, or have got MX player working properly? I tried installing the ARMv7 codec on the note, is this the right version?
Thanks in advance,
Shaizer.
Im running DicePlayer which works great.
There's no problem playing mov-files in 1080p, I just tried a 1080p trailer in mov with DicePlayer and it worked perfectly. However I'm not sure what bitrate the your mov-file is?
I have Mx video player installed without any extra codec. Apparently the idea is you only need a codec if it actually asks for it.
I have so far tried various formats mp4, mkv (both 720 & 1080) and it has played them all.
I'm using QQ Player.

I use dice player too. It works great with all my HD/SD videos with subtitles.
Awesome thanks all, will try DicePlayer and see how that goes. The bitrate of my .mov files are 46MBPS I guess its a raw format as it is straight from the camera.
Dice Player plays MKV's flawlessly.

As does MoboPlayer and best of all it's free.
I haven't found Moboplayer quite as good as Dice Player, but I do use it occasionally (it's software decoding is a bit better than Dice Player's).
Also using MoboPlayer; it works well.

Mobo is the only one that works for streaming from my NAS ... except the sound does not work!
No other player I have tried (including the ones mentioned above) will stream at all and I have yet to find one that works with the sound

[Q] Problem with playing 720p .mkv

I have problem with playing 720p mkv files on my P3100(stock 4.0.4) i`ve used stock videoplayer for most of non hd videos but if i use it for 720p mkv the tab resets itself. I tried Mxplayer but with the same result. The only player seems to work with HW acceleration is VLC. Does anybody faced similar problem?
