[Q] Why no GTJ61 software images anywhere? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently took my Nexus S 4G back to Sprint and ported back to ATT and bought a i9020A for ATT from Best Buy this past Friday. After checking XDA i noticed that theres no stock images for i9020a. I'm currently running a CM7 nightly and i have a Nandroid of my stock rooted GTJ61 which is what the i9020a for ATT was released with. Im aware that there are several roms that will work on the gsm models but i think its confusing to say the least that there are only 2 developer threads (Nexus S and Nexus S 4g) Would it be possible to start separate development threads for the various GSM models? And can anyone direct me to the stock system images for the i9020a that are flash able via fastboot such as the ones listed in the Nexus S 4G thread? Im really surprised that as new as the Nexus S 4G is that there are stock images available for it but yet there are none available (at least not that i can find) for the Nexus S i9020a that has been around longer (despite the fact that its just now been publicly advertised for att, it has been available off the record by Negri Electronics for few months now)
Any help of leads would be greatly appreciated

Here is one
Maybe you found sound help by now, but apparently this guy had the same problem:

Android 2.2/Froyo Available Soon For Vibrant - Hope For Captivate?

So, this was just posted on the T-Mobile UK site. I hope this means the US side will be following suit in the same time frame. This is the first "official" word Ive seen of a 2.2 update coming down the pipe. Just thought maybe that meant AT&T wouldn't be far behind with their update...

This really sucks! At&t hasn't sent me any updates on anything not even FOTA yet and I purchased this Captivate a day after it came out. Now T-mobile will be recieving the first update Froyo for GalaxyS! Ugh! I'm getting frustrated!
Ok. I am a newbe. I got the Captivate about 1 week ago. everyone is talking about Froyo and I am ready for it. Today I went to menu>settings>software update.
it check and updated something. nothing major display changed.
If I go to About Phone in system settings it says 2.1 update1. I am not sure what it said before. I am assuming From what I have read Froyo is 2.2.
So i Guess I got my hopes up for nothing.
I have checked for updates about everyday and today it had one yesterday it had nothing.
Just FYI
That's T-Mo UK, not US. Also, that references the Galaxy S, not the Vibrant. T-mo UK carries the i9000 Galaxy S, not the T-959 Vibrant that T-Mobile US sells.

[Q] Anyone using an International ONE S on Straight Talk/Redpocket (AT&T)

Hello,
I just wanted to know if anyone here in the states is using an unlocked international ONE S and using it on either AT&T or an AT&T MVNO (Straight Talk, H20, Red Pocket)
If so, I have a couple of questions.
1. How well does the phone perform on stock radio's?
2. If on an MVNO, have you hit a limit and been throttled (I've researched this, and come up with different answers throughout forums, so that's why I'm specifically asking the One S community)
3. If I don't decide to root, do updates come straight from HTC?
4. Probably off topic, but does anyone have a recommended seller of an international ONE S at a decent price? I recently sold my Verizon Galaxy Nexus and can afford something in the 400-480 range
Edit: My apologies for Posting in General instead of Q/A. Mods may move

[Q] Nexus 5 ROMs Universal?

Since the Nexus 5 is one phone for every carrier (except Verizon of course) will I have to install a ROM made for Sprint Nexus 5 if I am on Sprint? I figure since I can order one phone from the play store and activate it on whichever network I want that it will be the same for ROMs, I download one Nexus 5 ROM and just install it. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.
They should be universal since the american n5 works on all 3 carriers, perhaps the euro spec n5 might need their own euro rom but since the difference is only related to the modem hardware i think one rom will rule them all since the modem normally isn't flashed with a rom.

[Q] Re: Roms and different carriers

I have not owned a device that has been multiple carriers for the same hardware except the Moto X and the Nexus 5. My question is in regards differences in the carriers and any software oir settings in the rom files. Can every U.S. Nexus 5 flash the exact same rom without issues unlike say for instance a Sprint HTC One owner accidentally flashing a T-Mobile rom and messing up the phone needing a lot of work to fix.
Will those of us on Sprint be able flash all roms available for the Nexus 5 or will we have to wait for ports of them like we had to on the Galaxy Nexus?

Question about the Sprint variant

Ive been on Sprint for a good while now and I've had Nexus phones for years now so I'm not used to having to worry about the different versions and if I'll get to use custom roms or not.
But because I remember how much life sucked pre Nexus, 5,6,6p on Sprint, I was just wondering if this variant of the s8 is destined to live a stock rom life? I see the international and TMobile and att versions etc are already flourishing, but not a whole lot here.
Just trying to make my decision of do I upgrade or finally move to a gsm carrier.

Most of those roms are Universal for all carriers. You just have to flash your sprint CSC/Userdata to get all network features. Check Verizon or ATT threads.
