[Q] Sensation 4G - HTC Sensation

I am planning to buy the Sensation 4G...Can someone tell me how to tell the difference? Maybe serial number? can tell from the box? Just to make sure the seller is giving me the right version instead of the normal version. The 4G cost almost $100 more.

Do you have T-Mobile? If so, buy one that has the branding on the phone.

+1 to above post just know that when you do this the stock radios are 2g and 4g you dont have 3g capacity with tmobile branded phones out the gate simply because their 4g is hspa which is just a 3g signal on steroids and not true 4g

Turn a 3G Device to a 4G Device?

I tried searching but I couldn't find anything that would help me to be the wiser. What differs the 4G version and the 3G version <- which I have?
Is it possible to turn a 3G to a 4G? Is it just drivers or physical hardware that differs them?
Kind Regards,
Jolaren
its just an icon on the sensation...... besides the band differences on the couple versions out there they are all the same!
but on a realistic level, there is hardware that makes the difference from a 'TRUE' 4G to a 3G device
'h' is 3g
So my European bought Sensation won't be able to run 4G ever?

Well. You see, the T-Mobile 4G isn't even 4G its actually 3G they just call it 4G.. So "H" is basically "4G" for T-Mobile users. So don't worry, you're not missing out on anything. It's just an icon
All current 4G is not true 4G. But it is marketed as such. That's not the question here.
3g can do up to about 3mbs on average. It uses a different radio spectrum than 4G phones.
For example my sensation hits 5mbs while my wifes 3g Samsung Galaxy S can only reach 300kps to 600kps when compared side by side. It will depend on your proximity to the tower, but my real world tests were done side by side so hopefully that helps you. Don't take my advice though, go to your nearest store and run the comparison yourself!
Hope this helps!

Sensation 4g and europe

Hello Guys! I'm looking for an information, I'd like to buy an Android phone from Orlando for use it in Italy, i saw the Sensaion 4g from T-Mobile but i have a question: Does the Sensation 4g works in Italy? I think that yes but i'm no sure, and another question, Does the normal Sensation's rom works in 4g version from T-Mobile?
Thanks!
Yes you can. The 4G has ALL the European bands plus an extra band (1700 MHz) for T-Mobile USA.
You will have a lot of useless programs onboard (That you can't use because they are tied to a T-mobile subscription or network) but nothing that can't be solved with a good flashing
I m also using an sensation 4g in India without any problem,
Capychimp is also using US Sensation 4G in Sweden no problems 3G work

[Q]Unbranded HTC One S

Hey I was wondering if I bought an One S unbranded would it be able to get 4G? or would I be better off just buying the T-Mo version?
AFAIK There is only Tmobile that supports 4G networks.. Perhaps you should look at the specs of a Tmobile 4G One S and compare it to a Unbranded One S..
if they are the same, Get the cheaper one, You can always remove bloatware and make a branded phone UNbranded
You need to buy the US Tmobile version for it to work on "4G", the Euro version does not have the right bands to work on Tmo US.

Sensation 4g on AT&T

If I get my sensation unlocked, would I be able to get AT&T 3g/4g?
Sent from my $40 Sensation XE with Beats Audio
it depends on what kind of sensation you got. only bell and telstra versions of the sensation will work with at&t 3/4g. all others you will only get 2g

Its the Sensation 4g TMO US... I tried my friends sim card and I only got edge with at&t

Unfortunately, with the T-Mobile Sensation, you can only get EDGE working on AT&T since AT&T uses different frequency bands than T-Mobile for 3G/4G.

I wonder if we can unlock all the bands. I'm imagining we could at least switch over to the other bands.

Didn't realize the bell version had different bands until now.

I think you're going to need to explain what you posted
well from what i can tell nothing new lol
its bell south firm i seen someone had trouble with new hboot so i changed it to 3.32 what we have and rezipped it but i dont have a att sim to test this with
but i dont see anything different but worth a shot seeing how i am going to att or simple mobile soon
modem and the like aren't included in ruu files. you'd have to dump those partitions and flash manually
what are the supported umts frequencies for the bell sensation? if someone wants to dump a bell sensation's modem partitions, i'm sure someone would be willing to flash, possibly myself included, although any sign of it "working" would be if i lost tmobile umts (assuming it's not a quad/pentaband umts modem).

I'm using simple mobile now and my sensation works fine, because it runs off of Tmobile's towers... I was asking if the sensation 4g worked on at&t because I was trying to make a trade with someone for a Amaze but they had at&t

4g in the uk?

Hi all. I have just looked at my optimus 3d (uk) and my network is.showing EE (This is the name of oranges 4g network they will be rolling out soon.
Does that mean this phone is fully 4g compatible? (I know the thrill is 4g but would like clarification)

That's strange, I'm on T-Mobile UK but my O3D hasn't changed yet to EE although I've had a text to say it will, so I guess their in the process of rolling out the new network. The phone is 4G ready (T-mobile confirmed last week) but you will need a new 4G sim card and obviously a new 4G price plan for it to work.

I think you are confusing that the Optimus 3D is considered 4G ready in the US as they stupidly refer to HSDPA as 4G over there, which over here is 3.5G. There are no 4G ready phones over here yet as the EE network uses a different frequency to what current phones support for LTE (what powers 4G). They will require phones specifically adapted to their network and so no doubt they will be priced accordingly.
I figure the point is moot anyway as the poor speeds on T-Mobile aren't due to limitations to do with 3.5G, they deliberately throttle your speeds. That leads to be to believe that the related cost to actually get a decent speeds on their 4G network will be pretty high.
Its for this reason I am not bothered about 4G yet. For general web browsing the 1Mbit I get on 3.5G is sufficient, if I want any faster I can use WiFi. If I really REALLY needed more speed I would switch to Three which would get a huge speed boost without needing to buy a new phone. I only stick with T-Mobile because their call/text packages are good value and their coverage is excellent, which is more important than uber speed browsing to me.
That's 4G ready as in EE's 4G band will be in the 1800 Mhz range and that's one of the ranges that the O3D is capable of receiving. That was confirmed to me by T-Mobile UK.
I would expect that EE's 4G offering will come at a premium (at least for about a year until the other networks can provide 4G) but a work colleague popped into a new EE shop and they told him that an unlimited data plan would only be about £5 over and above a current 3G unlimited data.
To me, that sounds pretty good...

I'm an an O2 unlimited data plan and I'll keep it going when 4g gets rolled out. I plan to pay no extra charges, same way I tether for free.
