[Q] Galaxy S 4G in Dutch?

Hi guys,
I recently brought this cell phone with me from New York and it's working fine here, but I would like to know if there is any way to switch to Dutch language with any of the available roms?

Not at this time. If you have looked around you will notice development for this phone is going a little slow. Give it some time and hopefully once we get some rom's you could put in that request. Keep an eye out for a stable rom, then ask. Chances are a dev won't want to start doing something like that untill he has all the bugs worked out.
P.S. Keep an eye out if anyone wants an unlocked vibrant for cheap.

I'll ask around if anyone wants one of your phones, the way the dollar's going against the euro it'd be a pretty good deal. Only thing is, the lack of a dutch language could be a problem here ;-)

Nope I haven't seen eBay... must be alot if you are saying that... I'm just too busy with work and I don't trust eBay so I'm going to sale it to this guy at my work tomorrow cash for the 200$...

Well there ya go. Cash in hand is much simpler than ebay. I just sent one to canada and it got returned from customs. The lady that bought was none to happy. So I sent her one of the other ones USPS Express ($39)

Selling my Inspire

- Hey guys I'm going to be selling my Inspire and wanted to see if there was any interest here first. I'm asking for $300 plus shipping. The phone is in like new condition with a MINUTE surface "scratch" on the screen. So minute it's like one of those one you get from you're jean pocket. It's so small my friend said don't even mention it haha. I know these go for like $350-ish so I'm thinking my price is more than fair.

Hi, sorry but I don't know whether or not we can sell here. But here's my listing: I have a 2 weeks old White Mytouch 4g. Letting this go because I realized I'm not a touch screen keypad person. Phone comes with the box and original accessories, ghost armor shield, and silicone case. Price is 300 obo or trade for Sidekick 4g (like new condition). No low ballers or spams. The highet anyone would pay is 160-200 now, if the phone had just came out then he could get away with 300+. And OP you should put the phone in the marketplace area of XDA, or put it on eBay. I would avoid craiglist since there's more seller protection with paypal. I sold my MT4G for 200 which seems justified, that might be the best price range.

I paid $300 for mine back in Feb so I would be surprised if anyone is willing to pay that price 8 months later but they are fools out there...

CL or Swappa is probably the two best places to get the most. Some people on CL just pay a lot sometimes and almost every phone on Swappa are over priced from what I can see.

Just too costly.. even car values depreciate..

I am not amused by your phones performance

New ones in the box seem to go for around 300 on ebay still.

So i'll sell mine for $250 shipped. $475 for the pair. They are att&t. But also one of the easiest phones ever to unlock. I'm glad to do it for anyone that wants it done before shipping. At the moment they've never been out the box.

I bet you would. Sgs2 on Amazon goes for about $550+. You said you would let them go for $475/pair. Yeah, I can see why you would do that.

Not sure how to respond. Because your absolutely correct. No one has any reason to trust me what so ever. And theres no way to change that. But my options are this or ebay. They have lost tons of value as it is because of the length of time I've had them. I'm sure I could get 500 on ebay, but by the time I pay their fee and paypal s fee for the money transfer and the shipping cost I might have 425 left. If you've sold on ebay then u know. And we all know what they cost so the thought of selling a brand new galaxy s for $212.50 seemed crazy. Wasn't sure what to do. I dont need the money but they'll be worth nothing if I continue to hold on to them. Its ok if u dont trust me.

Ha. I didn't know. I'm sorry I came off wrong. I was just trying to get rid of a couple extra phones. I know nothing about "scamming". Can we just delete this post? Its went completely in the wrong direction. Maybe ebay was my best option. Irony was I never thought about selling them in the forum until I noticed the"marketplace"

Just bought a second one for my wife. I'll keep these until the Galaxy Note has been out for a month or two. Loving that 5.3 inch SAMOLED. No reason to go to the SGS2 that I can see. It is awesome, but not that much better than the Captivate.

Sure there is. I havnt sold in a couple years(another reason why I shy away, so much has changed) but i remember paying an extra .25 just to have a pic posted during search. Extra charges if you use alotta pictures. And the charge just to post, and the extra if you sell your item. Things of that sort. My accounts havnt been activated in a while. I went back to paypal the other day just to update that accout. New bank and such. Because i bought a few accesories for the captivate I use now. If the person thats interested perhaps lives in southern VA or northern NC maybe we could meet. I live on the line midway (Halifax County, VA) Or if there is someone you really trust on the forum I could send the item to the first. And when they get it they can let you know. Then I could recieve my payment. Of course it would have to be someone of high standing. I would hate to get ripped off myself. Just know I'm not here to scam anyone. I could take pics of the items if it helps. At least you'd know I actually have them. Beside a printout of this post so you know i didnt just copy a picture from the web. I'm trying here guys. I'm an honest person. I dont care if I sell them now. I guess now I'm just trying to build a little trust.

Looking for a captivate I dropped mine and screen is busted and digtizer is busted i think need them repair or another phone motherboard still good comes and makes sounds and recivec calls but can not see them.

ive been selling bnib captivates in the marketplace for around 225 each. cheaper if bought in multiples..

So I went to a few stores today that sells att phones. I asked everyone in all 5 of the stores about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note LTE, noone even knew about it as if it will be coming out 6 years from now -.- noone knew there was one even coming out let alone the name :/ it kind of makes me sad when the consumer knows more then the sales reps. They should train more in my opinion this was just my little experiance for the day just thought I'd share. Anyone else looking forward to the note lte for att?

Nobody in a provider store is going to have even a small clue about phones they don't already stock, this should not be a shock. And if you're on xda you're a bit above the typical consumer...
There is basically no benefit in knowing about a phone you don't stock yet from a sales perspective. You can't sell what you don't have.

In-store reps definitely don't know anything. Most reps aren't like us and simply don't care. I usually come across some reps who give out good information about upcoming devices. These reps are always over the phone as they have quick access to the database. Try calling about a general question, talk to them for a bit, and when you're about to end the conversation, pop the question.

Ive sold phones for five years in three locations. I can tell you most of us know about phones as soon as they are rumors. As someone said earlier if we don't sell it we really don't care. To be honest if someone asked me about the note I would kinda just try to end it fast unless we were doing pre orders as asking me about a phone I cant sell isn't making me commission. If it is slow though I will talk about announced upcoming phones for quite awhile. Also most consumers walk in and say i want android or iphone not asking specifics

That's understandable. Wouldn't it be better to actually care and inform a consumer of an upcoming device? By informing them of said device, they might wait for it and pay the $200 with the contract. I understand you want to make some money as well but I guess from a personal standpoint I would help the person that cares as much as I do.

If they are techie I will chat with them build rapport and leave them with a business card and an appointment only if the release isn't months away. The average consumer wants what their friend has and even if a better phone comes out tomorrow won't wait.

Though by far my biggest pet peeve at work is the people who say well I saw this was coming out on _________ tech site and I know all about it where is it. Most of those people end up name dropping xda. Kinda like this "well i frequently read xda and it said this and that and they tend to be just plain wrong. I know most of us on xda aren't like that but when you hear it multiple times a week you tend to want to hull smash something end rant ha

Haha yea I understand. I never ask about a device until it's all over the internet and comfirmed by many sources. That's like calling HTC and asking about the rumored Edge.

I even tried bestbuy lol and the guys words were "our phone tech isn't here today he will be here tomorrow from 12-6" I live 40 mins away from anything so its not in my best choice to go back but anywho I go to the same att retailer when I buy my phones. They know me there and come at me quick because I don't just come in to buy a cheap pantech crossover I'm there with cash in hand and buy phones straight up xD so they are always willing to help. When I went in to buy my Sony xperia play 4g I handed her my iPhone to Bluetooth my contacts, she looked at my iPhone and her exact words were "what the F is this" it was running wp7 xD Haha but in all seriousness I think someone should be hired in the certain area. It'd be like hiring me to sell cars or ovens when I know nothing about them, I feel like they just hire anyone :/ I went to buy a computer once and the worker argued for 30 minutes that 512mb was a gigabyte :/ I shook my head and took my business elsewhere I just don't understand... sometimes I wish everyone cared about a phone as much as we do... instead of "as long as I can listen to music watch YouTube and look at porn, I don't care what it looks like or what it does" :'( I honestly just want to teach everyone for free so I don't feel so smart and dumb at the same time. anyone else feel that way?

I agree. I've perused tablets in Best Buy and after engaging the nearest 'team member' for less than 3 minutes, I realize that I know more than they do.
It's the same experience when going to the auto parts store. There are some people who can carry on informed conversation, but 90% are the type who watch fast & furious movies in awe, and know nothing about repair or maintenance or they can only look up part numbers.
Basically, lower your expectations.

This is why I get mad when I've tried many times to get a job in those kind of places to no avail because I don't seem to have any big time qualifications to my record yet if I go into any outlet store and begin talking about phones, the sales rep looks at me like I'm making up things or shocked I know anything.

I have had similar experience with applying for jobs at auto parts stores. The 'now hiring' sign is displayed for several months and the staff changes about every 3 weeks, but I never get called. For a while there was an older woman who not only knew nothing about cars but she also needed help to use the computer program to look up parts.
I finally realized that these people will work for less money than I will because I actually know what I am doing. It really is sad that people with any level of technical or mechanical ability don't actually work at the retail level because they can't get enough money.
And don't get me started on the people who work at Home Depot . .

I have no past work experiance. I'm 19 years old have been the "bad" kid because I used to be a "black magic" hacker I've gotten introuble from schools best buys and targets because of it but now I'm past all that I do phones tablets anything mobile. There is never a time when I'm in best buy that I'm back in the computer/phone area and usually an older citizen is talking to a sales Rep about which one is better and the sales Rep says well product A is $1299 with 4gb ram touchscreen is way better then product B $899 8gb ram and so on but they go by the price as the sales Rep was walking her to the register I kindly walked up and said "hello ma'am I noticed you were interested in two different so-so" the sales Rep called the manager and had me kicked out for costing him the sale xD but they wont hire me? I have long hair and look like a "druggie" I don't do drugs don't have tattoos or metal on my body but yet they hire people who are clueless

i have to say i agree not many of the people in the stores even know about the phones they have in front of them much less whats coming out.

Most recently, I applied for a job repairing projectors. During the interview they kept asking me about how well I would transition to an office environment. Completely Ridiculous! I would be working in the workshop not the office and I happened to be better dressed than any of my interviewers.
Basically, some people cannot see past their little world or people they can understand.

Man Verizon store by me they don't know anything. And they are jerks as well. Went to upgrade my moms phone and said she wouldn't get unlimited data with her Droid 3 so I just bought it from newegg called up and boom she got her unlimited data. Never going back to that store again. Hate how now you have to bring phone to store to get replaced.
