CID and S-OFF - HTC Sensation

Hi Guys
I have successfully obtained s-off, but CID check is still on. I was under the impression s-off disables CID check. Has anyone who achieved s-off experiencing the same thing. Thanks

S-OFF-AlphaRev
I am no noob at Android and flashing recoveries. However, I am posting here since I am somehow not allowed to post in the DEV section. Question: When flashing the latest AlphaRev S-OFF tool...my beta key is accepted but I can get past ...Acquiring root (method 3). Can anyone point out what is wrong? I am on TMOUS with HBOOT version.0008.
Thanks,

They are working on a fix for us with the T-Mobile Sensation. Sounds like we should have it tomorrow.
Later,

Fix is out. Check the website again.

Does Revolutionary Work After 2.3.4 OTA?

I've been reading every thread about it out there but I simply can't get a straight answer out of anyone. I'm S-On currently and have already installed the update. Some people have said that it has worked from them yet others have said that it patches fr3vo which Revolutionary needs to work. So which is it? And if I can't do S-Off, is there a way to get my Sensation back to 2.3.3 to use revolutionary?

If your hboot version supports it, then I say go for it.
Make sure you're S-OFF but have stock recovery before you update and you can run Revolutionary again.

Flashing RUU would get you back, as I've seen boot images in the rom.zip of the RUU.
I dunno though if the RUU checks for higher versions or not..
I believe that you can s-off if the HBOOT you have is supported by revolutionary. Give it a try you're not losing anything.
i was 2.3.3 then updated to 2.3.4 ota. read around that u couldnt get s-off if u were s-on and got 2.3.4 update because of hboot.. i did it anyways no problems everything worked fine

Help getting wifi working on Sensation that was unlocked via htcdev

This is the wrong subforum for this, but I am unsure how to move it.
We ran through the htcdev official bootloader unlocking instructions. Curiously the bootloader still showed s=on but said unlocked. Then we flashed a custom rom and wifi wont work. We have tried a couple different kernels and still no luck. And now we are wondering about how to make it work.
revolutionary.io wont make it s=off. Do I need to have it s=off to make wifi work? ??
Great release man!
reported.
How do I move it to the right forum?

I don't know but I sure would like to find out how to get it working.
What version of Rom is this aosp or sense nevermind I check op we are sense 3.0 right

Desire S how to S-OFF and Root ?!?

Hello!
I want to root my Desire S with official rom 2.3.5
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.00.0002
Radio - 3822.10.08.04_M
Aug 22 2011
My question - any solution for rooting and S-OFF for my Desire? I tray everething (UnlockRoot, SuperOneClick...), but no results Please help...
i think you must be s-off with revolutionary before root
to use revolutionary, you'll have to downgrade your hboot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318919
But I think you can get around that by using the HTC Dev website to s-off. I've never used HTC dev before so maybe someone else can shed some light on that

Is it possible to get S-OFF without downgrading my HBOOT?
Yes as I mentioned before with htcdev but I'm not sure on how it works. Maybe someone else can help with that

I used manuals from HTC DEV site to unlock bootloader. After successful unlocking I used this instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1390496
Now, I have rooted my Desire S!!! But... ALL THINGS from my phone is deleted
My HBOOT is still 2.00.0002
Any solution to change S-ON to S-OFF?
I don't think its necessary to have s-off but when you flash a rom, you'll have to flash the boot.img as well.
I'm not sure why you lost everything though

Htcdev can unlock your bootloader but it won't s off.
To s off you'd need to downgrade hboot n use revolutionary.
Read up on the forum your question has been answered many many times

sadsac is correct, htcdev can only unlock your bootloader, nothing more. But you will need for other steps to get mobile s-off and root.
In my case, I also had got HBOOT 2.00.0002 and revolutionary do not like it, so i had to downgrade:
Code:

[Q] Juopunutbear S-OFF

Hi all!
I do not have 10 posts on the Forum, so I write here. I have tried get S-OFF with the help of "Juopunutbear S-OFF" but the process fails. What is thought?
Errorcode: 66732337
ErrorMsg: Still sober
Ok this is the first I have headed of Juopunutbear here in te Sensation forums. I see things in the Amaze, Resound, ad a couple of other HTC devices. Can you give a link or at least a modified URL that we can fix and then paste in the browser?
Also I recommend you use Revolutionary cause I don't know if Juopunutbear S-off works with the Sensation yet.
Edit: I see it does work with the Sensation. I did a little more looking and found the thread in the development forum.

Yeah I just found that thread you linked after I found the thread I linked in the edit of my first post.
This is awesome a new method of unlocking the Sensation, and it supports Hboot 1.27. But it seems like it is just a little more complicated than revolutionary.
so far, no one has a problem with black screen and icon?

Yeah I was skimming over the thread and a lot of people have been getting bootloops upon completion, and apparently you need to be HTC dev unlocked first. But its nice to have another method to s-off when it works especially for all those stuck on higher h boots

Thanks for all the answers

I don't know if the op has Hboot 1.27.0000 but I bet they did cause Revolutionary does not support Hoot 1.27.0000 but this new Juopunutbear S-OFF does support that Hboot version. And I don't t think they would have used this method if they could have used Revolutionary.
Back to the first post of the thread, I read the instructions on the Unlimited.io web site and the error messages the OP was getting means they did not do the wire trick right and they need to start over and run ControlBear again.

[Q] - S-off failed - need guidance

HI all,
I am sorry if this question may have been asked before but I have followed the instruction on [S-Off] Facepalm S-Off for HTC Devices One S, One XL, Droid DNA
but I still can not get the S-OFF.
I use the toolkit : [ROOT] HTC One X AT&T 2.20 Firmware - X-Factor root exploit
I believe my phone is rooted but I can not get the S-OFF. in the bootloader it said "Temppered" unlocked but the S-on
Can I please get some direction on what I did wrong?
Cheers
I want to flash either the telstra stock or the Clean rom I beleieve. I am not sure which one to try but I want the one with the closest to the stock but the optimised version of the stock.
Thanks
Arda
"Tampered' means you are rooted. That is a good thing.
What step of the S-off process are you stuck on? Any error messages?
Did you confirm you have SuperCID?

Cheers for the reply.
The steps which failed was when I had to confirm the restore. This is on the process getting the superCID.
I accepted the restore but on the screen on the phone the restore said "restore starting" and then few seconds later it said "restore end" as if restore does not get completed.

Do you actually have an AT&T version of the One X, or another carrier?

Ha, I called that one! The use of "cheers" had me thinking you were not an American. Its the dual core version of the One X/XL right?
X-factor only works for the AT&T version. X-factor is failing to change the CID because (I think) its looking for the AT&T CID (CWS_001) and not finding it.
I think you have to change the CID the "manual" way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671396
Instead of CWS_001, of course you will be looking for your carrier's ID (whatever that is).
Yes I am in from the land of down under
So do I just follow exactly what that guide is?
Do I need to have the S-OFF to be able to successfully flash firmware?

I am not sure if this is done for me?
any suggestions is much appreciated

OK, so now your supercid go through the s-off process again....
THANK YOU!!!
got the S-OFF displayed now and CID 11111111
so if I want to flash firmware (closest to stock), which tutorial should I follow?
any recommendation for :
1. ICS version which is very stable?
2. JB which is very stable?
I am using my phoen for internet browsing, skype, WhatsUp and also emailing most of the time.
Any recommendation is greatly appreciated
Cheers
At this point pretty much every Rom is stable. I don't think there are any ics roms in active development anymore. If you like close to stock go look at the roms in the android development section. They are mostly all sense based and each brings its own tweaks to the table

Don't muck around with firmware... HBoot versions etc. don't matter much once you have s-off.
If you like sense roms, Cleanrom is great (very close to stock) or ViperXL (much more customisable). You'll find both these in the Android Development thread. For a more native Android experience I'm loving Liquid Smooth, available in Android Original Development.
Good luck!
