So looked at my backups and clockwork folder stored on internal memory why? And how do I fix/change

There are 2 versions of clockworkmod recovery for the G2X. One version uses the internal storage and the other version uses the external storage. I'm gonna make a wild guess you flashed the internal one.

It's a one-click nvflash tool. It has three buttons: one flashes the internal version, one flashes the external version, and one flashes/restores stock recovery. Pick one.

If I partition my sd card using the tool from ccm, will that wipe my sd card or just resize seperate ext and swap partitons and then format? I tied just flashing the kernel and it wouldn't go past the samsung screen so I'm guessng the partitioning is my problem.

Anyone else that flashed this having any reboots? I tried running smartbench 2010 and it rebooted on the tunnel. Then it locked up on the 2nd try at the tunnel. I've also had 3 reboots so far.

Lol don't be ...if the kernel doesn't work for you, you can just flash another kernel and be back to normal. If a kernel doesn't work, it doesn't require odin to fix it... you just need to flash another kernel
I'm running at 1.3 and had no issues howeve I know there are some picky phones that just don't like it...try running 1.2 see if u still get reboots....I couldonly hope for a "unicorn" phone that could handle everthing lol

After downloading the newest ROM manager from the market, it now looks like I have two recoveries installed. If I boot into recovery from ROM Manager, I get the new blue one (with int SD support). But if I boot from the power menu, I get the old one. Something tells me I screwed something up, and I'm not touching anything until somebody tells me how this is even possible. WTF did I do?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
No problem there. ROM manager is only updated false flash rom. Old one is the nvflashed real one.

Ah. So is it safe to flash from either one? Having access to the internal SD would be a lot more convenient.
Also, is there a thread somewhere pertaining to this situation?

There is an even better scenario...download the utility by tgagunmann in the development section, and flash the latest cwm, which allows both internal and external from boot recovery.

Installation:
If you previously used the DarkTemor version you will have to backup your data and do a full wipe including /sd-ext before installing this version.
If your sdcard is already partitioned, the below installation is not necessary. Wipe cache and install.
NANDROID BACKUP
If already using MIUI, perform a miui backup to retain apps and settings.
Backup your SD Card to your computer.
Boot into ClockworkMod or TeamWin recovery to partition your sdcard (recommend size is 512mb, partition type ext4). THIS WILL WIPE YOUR ENTIRE SDCARD. After partitioning is completed, boot back into ROM
Restore your SD Card data
Copy Rom to sdcard
Boot into recovery and Format DATA and CACHE partitions.
Install ROM
Restore apps and settings from MIUI backup
NOTE: THIS ROM IS FULLY OPTIMIZED and also includes the latest GAPPS.
Enjoy!

Quick question when I partition my SD card through clockwork mod recovery it doesn't give me the option of choosing ext 4 or 3 it ask for the ext size and swap after I choose those two it starts partition, takes like 2-3 mins then says done. My question is shouldn't it give me the option to choose with ext I want???

You don't need another recovery to partition your sd card. There are plenty of tools for your PC that you can use to create an sd ext.

I'm curious to know how this is working out for everyone...how many of us use links2sd. And the ones who use it how much space were you able to save?
For me it seems to be working fine and i have been able to consistently keep 200mbs of free space..the ui is nice and easy to understand. What are the disadvantage to using this?

I tried ext2. After 2 reboots all my apps disappeared and L2SD failed to mount partition 2.
I tried ext4. After "1" reboot all my apps disappeared and L2SD failed to mount partition 2.

You will need to partition it first. You will lose all data on your SDcard so make sure you have your card backed up.
1. Go into recovery and partition your card.
2. Open up Link2SD and it will ask what type of partition it is ( I believe it is ext3, I could be wrong though )
3. Select the partition type then it will create the script.
4. Reboot phone and open up Link2SD and set it up as you would like.

try installing busybox, this should take care of the apps disappearing. it that doesn't work just clear both caches and then you should be good to go. make sure lind2sd is set to ext4 as your sd card should be formatted to this with the latest roms if i am not mistaken.
Samsung Epic 4G owners who have converted their phones to MTD partition layout can "flash" this in MTD recovery. It temporarily boots CWM5 BML, allowing you to flash modem upgrades without wiping your phones back to BML layout. You may safely ignore the error messages when this CWM starts. This CWM is not written to your phone, so the next time you run recovery it will be MTD CWM.
Requirement: Your CWM recovery kernel must support kexec. CM7 kernels nightly 12+ support kexec.
http://epiccm.blogspot.com/2012/01/boot-cwm5-bml-from-sdcard-no-flash.html

Step 1: Boot into the installed (MTD) recovery (3 finger, reboot menu, terminal command - whatever is your preferred method).
Step 2: "Flash" this file (it doesn't actually flash anything, just runs a script that tells the phone to load a different kernel, just like Rom Manager's recovery that boots from the sd card as opposed to being installed in internal memory)
Step 3: flash a modem update, etc - you are in a BML recovery, so use common sense... wait, that will only help 10% of experienced users (just don't do anything that interacts with the internal partitions, aside from the modem - it will most likely just error out, but if it doesn't then it will probably mess up your MTD partitions)
Step 4: ????
Step 5: Profit!
It really is that basic and simple.
