Quadrant scores : Good or bad? - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Score is 1339. I am running KG4 rooted with no custom settings. Also what is the best screenshot app on the market. I am using screen grabber currently but when I try to upload a picture to XDA it says image file incorrect.

My score ranges from about 1400 to 1700's depending on when I run it and I have been using drocap for screen shots.

The focus of many of the roms now are performance and smoothness. If your quadrant scores aren't that great, don't worry too much about it; as long as the phone works great. For screen grabber, try switching the file type to jpeg in settings

What really matters is how the rom "feels". If it runs smooth and performs great, that's what matters.

OC'd to 1.3 w/Tegrak, running Bali3.3UV w/ext4, stock rom, bloatware removed, "system critical" apps integrated into rom, ~100mb free in rom, 16gb 10x sdhc w/2gb ext4 for links2sd, rest is fat32, lagfix, launcher pro plus
With trillian's monitor service backgrounded and nothing else running, I quad 1866
Phone runs smooth as butter, no issues whatsoever beyond the wifi calling bug that plagues Bali kernels.

With the stock kernel, I could only get 1300 or so OC'd to 1.44 (but i think the kernel capped at 1.3 anyways). Bali+ext4=/win

Nice Quad!
Nothing changed from above, just ran the bench like 3 times. Here's the final score:

Yes sir, it is. Phone is running amazing.

KG6 / KG4 kernel+ cwm, ext4 on all partitions. Stock build.prop with a few changes and a little o/c madness. No lag, smooth and fast as can be.
Stock -
OC -
Final tweaks and oc to 1.62... Lol -
Can't wait for a custom kernel for gb. That will set this phone off!

Phoenix 5.2 jpy

I limit to 1300 as any higher i get full hardware lock up after gaming for more than 20 minutes in PSX or N64 emulators. And only set it 1300 when gaming. 1000 max on boot.

Quadrant is terrible. If you want benchmarks that have any degree of accuracy, try linpack or smartbench. Even then, they're not going to be as good as the best benchmark money can buy: "Day to Day Usage."

ShootMe saves screen captures in png format by default. Simply go into the preferences menu of that app and change that png to jpeg. You can upload jpeg format to XDA through the XDA app. Not so with png. You also end up with a lot better image.

Blazing fast after the update

I got a quadrant score 2500+ for the first time after the update. I notice the IO was doubled, in quadrant advance before the update I would get 2000+ on the IO test, but now it gets 4000+. What did tmobile did on the update that it got the device IO scores doubled?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
I have the same thing with my device as well. After testing it with Quadrant Advanced, my score is 2500+ and before this update it never reached 2000 at all.
It's not just speed... battery life has been improved as well.
just updated mine as well. It went from 2160 before the update to 2783 in quadrant and 4911 before to 5225 on AnTuTu. Now lets see how much the battery is improved

Yea I just got 2714 score on quadrant. Damn this update was very good for the device, this just proves that how fast a device is isn't just about the processor, its more of like a balance between the processor and the software. If the software is crap but the processor is the best one out there, it really doesn't help much. For instance look at the galaxy nexus, it has the hummingbird GPU not the latest exynos yet it is faster than the galaxy s 2!
So really if you think about it its not about the processor only is more about the software.

It depends.
ROMs based on the T-Mobile base won't be as fast until they incorporate what's changed in this ota update. Once they do, they'll likely end up being faster.
